KKE: The 200 communist heroes of Kaisariani shatter the EU’s historical fraud of equating communism with fascism

Once again, on 23 August, the European Union rolls out its anti-communist falsification of history, attempting the obscene equation of communism — the force that stood at the forefront of the struggle against fascism — with the Nazi monster itself. Yet history is stubborn, and the blood of those who fought and died against fascism cannot be erased by EU resolutions and manufactured “days of remembrance.”

Trump and Rubio should be investigated for genocide against socialist Cuba

By Nikos Mottas

For more than six decades, the United States has attempted to disguise its aggressive imperialist policy toward Cuba as a question of “national security,” diplomatic pressure or concern for “democracy”.

Behind this sanitized vocabulary stands a far more brutal reality: economic strangulation, political coercion, extraterritorial intimidation and the deliberate worsening of the material conditions of life of an entire people because that people refuses to renounce its Revolution.

Remembering Federico García Lorca, 90 years since his assassination by Franco's fascists

August 18 marked 90 years since the murder of Federico García Lorca, the great Spanish poet and dramatist who was executed by Franco's fascist forces near Granada in 1936, during the first weeks of the Spanish Civil War.

Those who murdered Lorca may have believed that a bullet could silence his voice. History proved otherwise. His poetry, theatre and enduring humanism survived his killers, turning him into one of the most internationally recognised figures of Spanish literature and a lasting symbol of the democratic and anti-fascist Spain that Francoism sought to destroy.

65 years since the construction of the Berlin Wall – The GDR and the Cold War

Sixty-five years ago today (13 August), the “Berlin Wall” was erected. Bourgeois media and all manner of “experts” are once again using the anniversary as an opportunity to wage their anti-communist propaganda campaign and engage in sweeping historical revisionism. Dictatorship, totalitarianism, an “unjust regime,” evil — there is seemingly no end to the labels attached to the German Democratic Republic. Terror, we are told, was omnipresent, with the Wall and the Stasi presented as its ultimate symbols.

Fidel Castro at 100: History Has Absolved Him!

By Nikos Mottas

“Socialism is and will be the hope, the only hope, the only path for the peoples, the oppressed, the exploited, the plundered. Socialism is the only alternative"  — Fidel Castro Ruz

A century after the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz, on 13 August 1926, the hatred directed against him has hardly diminished. Nearly ten years after his death, the same vocabulary is repeated with remarkable persistence: “dictator,” “tyrant,” “totalitarian.” Fidel is vilified, the Cuban Revolution is slandered, its achievements are denied or reduced to inconvenient footnotes, while the Cuba that existed before January 1959 is carefully pushed out of sight.

A political and historical critique of David Uclés’s "The Peninsula of Empty Houses"

The following article - book review was originally published in Rizospastis, Organ of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), on 8-9 August 2026, under the title "A Publishing Phenomenon of “Equal Distances". Real below the English translation:

David Uclés’s novel has become a genuine publishing phenomenon. More than 400,000 copies have been sold in Spain, translations have appeared in dozens of languages, and the book has been embraced by critics and readers alike as a major literary fresco of the Spanish Civil War. Precisely because its influence is so extensive, it deserves to be approached critically—not in terms of its literary technique, but of its political content and the way in which it shapes collective memory of one of the most decisive events of the twentieth century.

The Iron Felix: 100 years since the death of Felix Dzerzhinsky

One hundred years ago, on 20 July 1926, the international communist movement lost one of its most steadfast revolutionaries. At just 49 years old, Felix Edmundovich Dzerzhinsky—remembered forever as the "Iron Felix"—passed away after suffering a heart attack, only hours after delivering a lengthy speech to the Plenary of the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party on the country's economic situation.

Dzerzhinsky was not born into the working class. Born in 1877 into a relatively well-off Polish family, he consciously abandoned privilege and devoted his entire life to the cause of proletarian revolution.

The Party That Saved British Capitalism: Labour from Attlee to Burnham

By Nikos Mottas

Andy Burnham's arrival at 10 Downing Street has, once again, been accompanied by the familiar chorus of illusions. Britain, we are told, has entered a "new era." A new Labour prime minister promises hope, fairness and renewal.

Yet beneath the new rhetoric lies the same old reality. The faces change. The managers change. The class character of the British state does not.

Communist Party of the Workers of Spain: Statement on the 90th Anniversary of the 1936 Fascist Coup d'État

Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE): Statement of the Political Bureau on the 90
th Anniversary of the 1936 Fascist Coup d'État

On July 18, 1936 a significant section of the Army, supported by the big bourgeoisie, landowners, the Church hierarchy, the most reactionary sections of the State apparatus, and the European fascist powers, rose up against the working people. That coup was the violent response of the ruling classes to guarantee their offensive in all the spheres; it was their response against the advance of the workers', peasants', and popular organization.
