At a Secretariat meeting held on Wednesday, the party called on the government to act immediately to safeguard those affected, intensify search and rescue operations for missing persons, relocate people living in high-risk areas and ensure prompt medical treatment for the injured.
"On August 23, Kazakhstan held elections to the unicameral parliament, the Kurultai, as part of the constitutional reform that had been carried out. As a result, the main presidential party, “Adilet,” which was established just a few months ago, along with other parties representing large capital, secured more than 70 percent of the seats in the legislative body.

For more than six decades, the United States has attempted to disguise its aggressive imperialist policy toward Cuba as a question of “national security,” diplomatic pressure or concern for “democracy”.
Behind this sanitized vocabulary stands a far more brutal reality: economic strangulation, political coercion, extraterritorial intimidation and the deliberate worsening of the material conditions of life of an entire people because that people refuses to renounce its Revolution.
The Communist Party of Australia, Communist Party of Britain and Communist Party USA held a trilateral meeting during the 24th International Meeting of Communist & Workers Parties which convened in Havana, Cuba from 7-8 August 2026.This wasthe second trilateral meeting held between our parties to discuss the AUKUS pact between the governments of Australia, the UK and the USA to provide nuclear submarines and more advanced weaponry for deployment from bases in Australia.

Communist and workers’ parties against imperialist wars: The workers’-people’s struggle will grow stronger with an independent line, away from all bourgeois and imperialist plans.
With this Resolution, on the occasion of the 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in Havana from 7 to 9 August 2026, we express our solidarity with Cuba and its people, we honour the memory and historic contribution of Comandante Fidel Castro Ruz, leader of the Communist Party of Cuba and of the Cuban Revolution, on the centenary of his birth commemorated this year.
In Uzbekistan, the well known blogger and left wing activist Aziz Khakimov was given a harsh sentence of 4 years and 2 months in prison for speaking out against the rehabilitation of the leaders of the Basmachi movement of 1918-1944. His only “crime” was that he called them murderers and executioners of the people!

The Mexican daily El Universal spotlighted the Party in a report headlined: “We want to win the presidency in 2030: Communist Party of Mexico is alive and seeks permanent power”. The report highlights the PCM’s determination to expand its national presence and intervene more decisively in Mexico’s political life.

"On this day 100 years ago, the Founding Congress of the Communist Party of Cyprus (CPC) was held in Limassol. It was the culmination of a process that had been developing for years, as the first socialist groups in Cyprus had already emerged in the late 1910s. News of the October Revolution reached colonial Cyprus as well, giving fresh impetus to the workers’ struggle against wage exploitation.

A century after the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz, on 13 August 1926, the hatred directed against him has hardly diminished. Nearly ten years after his death, the same vocabulary is repeated with remarkable persistence: “dictator,” “tyrant,” “totalitarian.” Fidel is vilified, the Cuban Revolution is slandered, its achievements are denied or reduced to inconvenient footnotes, while the Cuba that existed before January 1959 is carefully pushed out of sight.

A century of sacrifices and struggles
1.The 24th AKEL Congress salutes with deep respect the 100th anniversary of the Founding Congress of the Communist Party of Cyprus, held on 15 August 1926. This anniversary marks a milestone, as for the first time in our country’s history, the people of labour and toil had emerged on the arena of political action and asserting its role as a leading force in history.
Abdulla Ibrahimli and Ibrahim Asadli were each sentenced to two years' imprisonment, while Elchin Bayramli and Mehman Zeynalov received 18-month prison terms. The four were prosecuted under Article 233 of Azerbaijan's Criminal Code following their detention by the Ministry of Internal Affairs after a planned march in November last year.

According to the party, Delhi Police officers arrived in a private vehicle, with some reportedly dressed in civilian clothes, and entered the CPI(M) headquarters in search of Ghosh, who has emerged as one of the leading figures in the student protests at Jantar Mantar. The demonstrations, which have continued for weeks, recently culminated in the resignation of India's Union Minister of Education.
Hundreds of people gathered at Gierek's grave in Sosnowiec on July 25 to pay tribute to the leader whose decade in office was associated with rapid industrialization, major infrastructure projects and significant social progress. The commemoration was followed by a conference in Dąbrowa Górnicza examining Gierek's political and economic legacy.
In a statement released on 17 July, the communist party accuses the United States of committing war crimes through attacks on civilian infrastructure, including transportation networks, railway lines, airports, grain storage facilities, water production plants and maritime installations.
Andy Burnham's arrival at 10 Downing Street has, once again, been accompanied by the familiar chorus of illusions. Britain, we are told, has entered a "new era." A new Labour prime minister promises hope, fairness and renewal.
Yet beneath the new rhetoric lies the same old reality. The faces change. The managers change. The class character of the British state does not.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) denounced the use of lathi charges and tear gas against demonstrators, while the Communist Party of India (CPI) sharply criticized remarks by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant dismissing calls to examine video evidence of the police violence.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez dismissed the document as another fabrication promoted by what he described as one of the most corrupt figures in the current U.S. administration, stating that "the thief thinks everyone is like him" aptly characterizes the accusations leveled against Cuba.
One can admire the Chinese revolution as one of the great setbacks to the imperialist and colonial undertakings of Europe, Japan, and the US. One can hail the extraordinary sacrifices and deep dedication of members of the Chinese Communist Party to both liberate the peoples of China from foreign domination and advance the people toward a better life.
On July 18, 1936 a significant section of the Army, supported by the big bourgeoisie, landowners, the Church hierarchy, the most reactionary sections of the State apparatus, and the European fascist powers, rose up against the working people. That coup was the violent response of the ruling classes to guarantee their offensive in all the spheres; it was their response against the advance of the workers', peasants', and popular organization.
