KKE: U.S and Israel exploit fragile ceasefire as deadly strikes hit Lebanon

The Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement regarding Israel’s deadly attacks on Lebanon and the statements made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis:

“Israel’s deadly attacks on Lebanon—among the most lethal in recent weeks—demonstrate that the United States and Israel are exploiting the fragile ceasefire, which also included Lebanon, in order to recalibrate their attack tactics, at a time when none of the originally declared objectives of their imperialist intervention in Iran have been achieved.

KKE political event in Piraeus: Greeting messages by the Communist Parties of Turkey, Israel and Iran

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a call to all workers and employees, farmers, pensioners, young men and women, and women across the country to align their struggle with the KKE, during the event of its Central Committee held in Piraeus on the afternoon of Monday, April 6, under the slogan: “No sacrifices for their profits and their wars.” The event featured a speech by the General Secretary of the KKE Central Committee, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, while numerous workers, trade unionists, professionals, and scientists also took the floor.

 

KKE MEPs denounce Israel’s death penalty law for Palestinians, submit question to European Commission

The European Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the new crime against the heroic Palestinian people—the imposition of the death penalty by the State of Israel — through a question submitted to the European Commission by the Party’s MEPs, Kostas Papadakis and Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos.

Communist Parties of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East hold teleconference on U.S–Israel war in the region

A teleconference with Communist and Workers’ Parties from the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East, and the Persian Gulf was held yesterday at the initiative of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), in response to the serious developments in the region following the launch of the imperialist attack by the United States and Israel against Iran.

According to 902 portal report, in addition to the KKE, representatives of ten other parties participated in the teleconference. All participants emphasized the importance of the initiative, noting that it contributes both to the analysis of the situation and to the coordination of the communists’ actions.

 

Massive KKE rally in Greece sends message of solidarity with Cuba: “CUBA IS NOT ALONE!”

Thousands of people gathered on Wednesday afternoon at Syntagma Square in Athens in a massive demonstration of internationalist solidarity with Cuba and its heroic people, organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

The rally sent a strong political message against the decades-long U.S. blockade and imperialist threats, with demonstrators chanting and proclaiming that “Cuba is not alone.”

Anti-imperialist rally in Cyprus calls for closure of British and U.S. bases

A militant anti-imperialist rally was held on Sunday morning outside the Greek Embassy in Nicosia, followed by a march to the United States Embassy. The mobilization was organized by by the Communist Initiative of Cyprus with the central demand being the closure of all foreign military bases on the island, the removal of all foreign troops, and the termination of military cooperation with the United States and Israel.

 

KKE's leader Koutsoumbas refutes Mitsotakis' pretexts over Greece's involvement in the Middle East war

“Developments speak for themselves and shatter the complacency you have fostered for so long, while confirming the persistent warnings of the KKE”, said Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), at the start of his speech in Parliament on 4 March. Addressing the Prime Minister, he refuted the propaganda that “as long as US forces are here, no one will bother us”, at a time when US bases across the region are coming under attack.

Four Years Under Death’s Ravenous Gaze

The conflict in Eastern Ukraine did not come as a surprise to the KKE. It marked the ignition of a confrontation that had long been in the making — methodically prepared in the pressure cooker of clashing powerful interests — and it is a direct consequence of the capitalist restoration that led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. It is worth recalling that at the time, the entire spectrum of Greece’s political establishment, from the far right to the so-called “renewed Left” — except the KKE — was proclaiming that “the avenues of peace and prosperity” were opening up for the peoples.
