Statement by the Communist Party of Poland: "Our struggle continues"!

The shameful attempt of the Polish state to outlaw the Communist Party of Poland (Komunistyczna Partia Polski - KPP) has become a central front in the international struggle against anti-communism.

In recent weeks, the Polish authorities escalated their decade-long persecution by bringing the case before the Constitutional Tribunal in an effort to criminalize the Party’s very existence.

ALERT: Poland’s Constitutional Court bans Communist Party — Democracy under attack!

Today the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland issued a ruling declaring the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) unconstitutional and illegal, ordering its removal from the register of political parties.

The Tribunal’s decision follows a formal petition by the ultra-conservative Polish President Karol Nawrocki and finds that the aims and activities of the party violate the national constitution. The ruling effectively criminalizes the legitimate political activity of an established communist formation.

KKE-KNE protest at Polish Embassy in Athens against renewed persecution of the Communist Party of Poland

A delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE), led by KKE MP Afroditi Ktena, carried out a militant protest today at the Embassy of Poland in Athens, condemning the continuation of the unacceptable anti-communist persecutions against the Communist Party of Poland. The attacks escalate once again on December 3 at the Constitutional Court, following a petition submitted by Poland’s President K. Nawrocki claiming “unconstitutionality of the aims and activity of the Communist Party of Poland.”

Joint Statement of Communist and Workers’ Parties against the persecution of the Communist Party of Poland

Our parties strongly condemn the recent unacceptable action by Polish President Nawrocki, who has filed a motion with the Constitutional Court claiming that “the aims and activities of the Communist Party of Poland are unconstitutional”.

This is an unfounded motion and largely echoes similar attempts by bourgeois forces in the country five years ago to ban the CP of Poland, which ultimately did not proceed.

The Communist Party of Poland faces the threat of illegalization: Call for solidarity and action

The Communist Party of Poland calls all comradely communist and workers' parties to oppose political repressions in Poland

The CPP faces the threat of illegalization. On the 1st of October the Polish Constitutional Court will be considering a motion to illegalize the CPP. This motion was filed by the previous prosecutor general and minister of justice in November 2020. After nearly five years the Constitutional Court has announced that it will take under consideration this motion and check whether the activities of the CPP do not violate the constitution.
