Tudeh Party warns of renewed imperialist aggression and economic collapse in Iran

The Tudeh Party of Iran has warned that the country faces an increasingly dangerous combination of renewed US imperialist aggression, economic collapse and mounting social discontent, calling for urgent political action to prevent another devastating war. In an editorial published on October 5 in Nameh Mardom, the Party's central organ, the Iranian communists point to Washington's growing military presence in West Asia and the contradictory statements of President Donald Trump as indications of an extremely fragile situation.

The Tudeh Party of Iran has issued a strong condemnation of the latest U.S. military attacks against Iran, denouncing what it describes as the third direct act of U.S. imperialist aggression against the country and warning that Washington's escalating military campaign threatens to plunge the region into an even more devastating conflict.

In a statement released on 17 July, the communist party accuses the United States of committing war crimes through attacks on civilian infrastructure, including transportation networks, railway lines, airports, grain storage facilities, water production plants and maritime installations.

The Tudeh Party of Iran has welcomed reports of a preliminary understanding between the Iranian government and the United States aimed at ending the recent military confrontation, while warning that a lasting peace remains far from guaranteed.

In an article published in its central organ Nameh Mardom ("People's Letter"), the Iranian communist party argues that the country remains trapped in a state of political uncertainty despite the reported framework agreement. According to the article, Iran today finds itself "neither at war nor at peace," facing a complex combination of external threats and deep internal crises.

In the final moments before the deadline set by the fascist President of the United States, threatening that Iran's “civilization will die tonight,” expired, it was announced that Iran and the United States had agreed on a conditional two-week ceasefire. According to this agreement, the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz will be kept as free as possible. According to published reports, this agreement was reached through the mediation of the Pakistani government.

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a call to all workers and employees, farmers, pensioners, young men and women, and women across the country to align their struggle with the KKE, during the event of its Central Committee held in Piraeus on the afternoon of Monday, April 6, under the slogan: “No sacrifices for their profits and their wars.” The event featured a speech by the General Secretary of the KKE Central Committee, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, while numerous workers, trade unionists, professionals, and scientists also took the floor.

Tudeh Party strongly condemns the aggressive attack by Israel and the USA against Iran

In a statement issued on 28 February 2026, the Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemned the joint aggressive military attack of US and Israel against Iran: 

"Dear Compatriots!

Early this morning, our country was attacked by extensive missile and air strikes by the racist Israeli government and the United States. This blatant aggression against Iranian territory occurs while the Iranian and US government officials, with the mediation of regional countries, have been engaged in negotiations over the past few weeks to resolve disputes over Iran’s nuclear program.

Tudeh Party firmly rejects "any foreign intervention in the sovereign affairs of the Iranian people"

Two days before Israel launched an attack on Iran, the Tel Aviv branch of the Communist Party of Israel (Maki) hosted a meeting on the topic of Iranian Marxism. This was as part of the series of lectures on Marxism in the Middle East. The meeting, held online, included a lecture by N., an exiled Iranian Marxist, who asked that his name not be published.

The lecture opened with introductory remarks: One of the central characteristics of the Marxist movement as a whole is the ability to learn from failures and see them as setbacks in a long struggle.

Based on reports from domestic and foreign media, around noon on Saturday, 26 April 2025, a fire broke out at Rajaee Quay, located 23 kilometres west of Bandar Abbas. The blaze initially started in a limited number of containers. It quickly spread to other containers within the area under the supervision of “Sina Gostaresh Company”, leading to powerful explosions. The resulting sound waves and air pressure were audible and felt within a 50-kilometer radius.
