The parties of the European Communist Action (ECA) met via teleconference hosted by the New Communist Party of the Netherlands on the 15th of February 2026 under the slogan: "Their war destroys everything that their peace left standing. Developments on the battlefields and the communists’ stance on the alternation between imperialist war and peace at gunpoint".

The Relentless Expansion of the U.S. Military Budget as a Pillar of Imperialist Aggression

By Nathan Richardson*

There are moments in the history of capitalist decay when the contradictions of imperialism reveal themselves in stark, unavoidable clarity. Today, as the U.S. military budget surges toward the trillion-dollar threshold in fiscal year 2026, we witness precisely such a revelation: a parasitic apparatus that devours the surplus value produced by the working class, redirecting it toward endless wars of plunder and domination while the masses at home endure poverty, homelessness, and crumbling social infrastructure.

Venezuela-Iran: On the unhistorical positions of representatives of the European "Left" and the so-called "World Anti-imperialist Platform"

Ideological Confusion Amid the Tempests of Imperialist Wars

By Eliseos Vagenas*

Recent developments in Venezuela and Iran reflect an escalation of US imperialist aggression in the wider regions of Latin America–Caribbean and the Persian Gulf, warnings that the KKE issued to the peoples in a timely manner.

Cuba Sends Doctors. The USA Sends Bombs

By Nikos Mottas

There are moments when history reduces itself to a single, unavoidable contrast. Today is one of them. As renewed threats and economic aggression once again emanate from Washington under Donald Trump, an old truth regains its sharpness:

Cuba sends doctors. The United States sends bombs.

This is not a slogan invented for effect. It is a reflection of two opposing social systems, two different priorities, two irreconcilable visions of what a society should produce—and for whom.

More than 100 Communist and Workers' Parties say: Stop the escalation of aggression against Cuba!

In a joint statement published in SolidNet, more than 100 Communist and Workers' Parties and Organizations demand an immediate end to the imperialist aggression of the U.S government against Cuba. More specifically, the statement, which is open for further signatures, points out:

«Stop the escalation of aggression against Cuba!»

"We firmly condemn US imperialism’s new escalation of aggression against the sovereignty and independence of Cuba and against the rights of the Cuban people.

Excerpt from the Report of the CC of the KKE to the 22nd Congress: On the current imperialist competition and imperialist war

The excerpt is from the Report of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) to the 22nd Congress, which was unanimously approved by its delegates:

Thirty-five years after the counter-revolution, the overthrow of socialism, and the capitalist restoration in the Soviet Union and other socialist states, the KKE continues to struggle steadfastly under adverse conditions marked by an international unfavourable correlation of forces.

Why we should defend Cuba at all costs

By Nikos Mottas

The recent escalation of vicious threats and coercive measures against Cuba by the Trump administration marks a new phase in a policy that is neither accidental nor episodic.

The tightening of sanctions, the targeting of fuel supplies, the intensification of financial restrictions, and the open rhetoric of intimidation together constitute a deliberate sharpening of economic warfare against the Cuban people.

Greenland: A "Northern Front" of Inter-Imperialist Rivalry

By Nikos Mottas

The developments surrounding Greenland should not be treated as a diplomatic anomaly or as the product of individual political choices.

They are a concentrated expression of the contemporary phase of imperialism, in which the sharpening competition among capitalist powers drags strategic regions and smaller peoples into conflicts not of their own making.

The KKE condemns the U.S provocative threats of a new imperialist military attack on Iran

In a statement (here in Greek) on developments in Iran, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) notes:

“The KKE condemns the provocative threats issued by the United States for a new imperialist military attack on Iran, jointly with the state of Israel, within the framework of the broader imperialist antagonisms, aiming to shape political developments in that country as well, in accordance with their own geopolitical interests. These threats come as a continuation of the imperialist intervention in Venezuela and the threats directed against Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, and Greenland.

The Tudeh Party of Iran follows closely and carefully the ongoing developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran and have proceeded to statements and urgents calls regarding the situation in the country. We republish the two latest statements/articles of the Party, published on 9 and 12 January respectively:

Under Imperialism, there is no “International Law”

By Nikos Mottas

The widespread claim that recent imperialist bluntness, epitomized by the Trump doctrine, has “destroyed international law” rests on a false premise: that such a law ever existed as a binding, neutral framework above imperialism.

From a Marxist-Leninist standpoint, this belief is not an error of detail but a fundamental ideological illusion. Imperialism has never been restrained by international law. On the contrary, what is called “international law” has always been a secondary product of imperialist relations, tolerated only insofar as it served monopoly interests and discarded whenever it ceased to do so.

The Farce Of the “Restoration of Democracy” in Venezuela

The absurdities used by the government to justify US imperialist intervention in Venezuela are endless. Government officials, without even blushing, claim that “anyone who disagrees with US actions is siding with the dictator Maduro”.

Walking the same path as the representatives of the right-wing ruling party, New Democracy (ND), are figures from other bourgeois, social-democratic forces as well. For example, the former prime minister and former leader of the “left-wing” SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, in his statement on Venezuela, did not hesitate to adopt one of the pretexts of US intervention, that of “democracy”, remarking that it “is also being tested in Venezuela”.

Joint Statement by Communist and Workers’ Parties: Down with the Imperialist boot in Venezuela and Latin America!

Joint Statement by Communist and Workers’ Parties

Down with the Imperialist boot in Venezuela and Latin America!

The undersigned Communist and Workers’ Parties strongly condemn the criminal bombings carried out by the United States against the city of Caracas and other areas of Venezuela in the early hours of 3 January. This military imperialist attack constitutes a serious violation of the sovereignty of an independent state and is directed against the interests of the people of Venezuela and other peoples of the region.

15 Times Fidel Castro Blasted U.S Imperialism

By Nikos Mottas

When U.S President Donald Trump openly threatens Cuba and Latin America—reviving the language of siege, punishment, and imperial entitlement—he is not improvising. He is speaking the native tongue of U.S. imperialism. What appears today as vulgar bravado is, in fact, the unfiltered expression of a system that has always treated the region as a backyard, its peoples as expendable, and sovereignty as a privilege granted only to obedient regimes.

U.S. intervention in Venezuela: A link in the chain of rivalries for primacy in the global imperialist system

Article published in "Rizospastis", Organ of the CC of the KKE, 5 January 2026:

The U.S. intervention in Venezuela constitutes the culmination of a months-long escalation of U.S. aggression against the country and, more broadly, across the entire “theatre” of Latin and Central America.

The intensifying U.S.–China rivalry for primacy within the international imperialist system, the strategic importance of Latin America as a trade corridor and repository of critical raw materials, as well as control over Venezuela as a country endowed with vast natural resources, are the real causes of the intervention—behind the pretexts of “combating drug trafficking” and “restoring democracy.”

Communist Parties from the US, Mexico and Canada denounce Trump's imperialist attack on Venezuela

Communist Parties from North America, including the United States, Canada and Mexico, have condemned the military attack of the U.S against Venezuela and the kidnapping of the country's President, Nicolas Maduro:

Communist Workers' Platform USA (CWPUSA)

"In the early hours of 3 January, the United States escalated its aggression against Venezuela through bombings in Caracas and other cities and towns. This escalation is the culmination of years of political and economic warfare to strangle Venezuelan workers and people.
