Communist and Workers' Parties: We intensify the struggle against NATO and its warmongering decisions

Protest during the NATO Summit in The Hague, June 2025.
Joint statement

We intensify the struggle against NATO and its warmongering decisions

At the June 2025 NATO Summit in The Hague, member states committed to raise military spending to 5% of GDP by 2035. This escalation, cynically framed as a commitment to “defend democracy and freedom” and “support Ukraine,” is in fact a war agenda serving the declining hegemony of Euro-Atlantic capital in the face of increased inter-imperialist rivalry.

Communist Youth of Bolivia: On the structural crisis and escalation of violence in Bolivia

COMMUNIST YOUTH OF BOLIVIA

STATEMENT ON THE STRUCTURAL CRISIS AND ESCALATION OF VIOLENCE IN BOLIVIA

Bolivia is experiencing a deep economic, political, and social crisis, currently reflected in the shortage of food, fuel, and imported products; the inflationary escalation; the devaluation of the Bolivian currency (boliviano); and a rise in social conflicts. This situation, rooted in the structural dependence on rentier capitalism and the crisis of the extractivist model, has worsened due to misguided government measures, such as the liberalization of meat and other food exportations.

Harry Pollitt: The Influence of Socialist Construction in the USSR on Workers in Capitalist Countries

By Harry Pollitt

THE October Revolution in Russia in 1917 sent an electric thrill through the war-weary workers of the world.

In our lifetime, the taunt of the capitalists, such as Churchill, that the workers are “not fit to govern” has been hurled back at them with a rebound that day by day is having its revolutionizing effect all over the world.

The KKE and its revolutionary action are a thorn in the side of all kinds of anti-communists

Comment by the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE:

The ongoing struggle of the KKE and the mass mobilizations currently taking place in Greece, in which the KKE and KNE are playing a leading role, have placed all kinds of anti-communists in a very difficult position. Supporters of Greece’s greater involvement in the war, alongside Israel and the USA, accuse the KKE of supporting ‘the mullahs’, the ‘theocratic regime’ of Iran,  ‘terrorists’ and even ‘conservatism’ through its stance. They also claim that it it ‘fosters anti-Semitism’ because it supports the just struggle of the Palestinian people, who are being massacred by the murderous state of Israel.

KKE responds to the slanders of RCWP: Let's talk facts

On 24 June 2025, the RCWP sent yet another article, which was published on SolidNet entitled “Swearing and labels are not arguments”, characterized by anti-KKE hatred, lies and slander in an attempt to justify the unjustifiable.

Although we will not be tempted to continue what we consider to be a fruitless confrontation, we feel obliged to respond to two slanders directed against the KKE once again.

After Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and the ongoing genocide in Palestine, the USA and its allies are now shedding the blood of yet another country in the Middle East. This imperialist aggression is plunging people into war across a wider region and threatening to destroy humanity as a whole.

Avishai Ehrlich: Stop the War in Gaza and Iran, For a Nuclear-free Middle East

By Avishai Ehrlich*

The main military activity and focus of Israel and the world shifted from Gaza to Iran on June 12. Gaza has gone from being a primary theater to a secondary one.

While Israel continues to destroy and kill in Gaza systematically, Israelis are even less interested in it. The war in Iran shifted global and domestic priorities, but the destruction of Gaza, the genocide unfolding there, and the bleeding Palestinian issue remain the heart of the darkness.

Tudeh Party: Iran’s future must be decided solely by the Iranian people

Translated Excerpts from the Editorial of Nameh Mardom, issue no. 1236, published Monday 16 June 2025

Devastating war, struggle against imperialism, and national interests

After weeks of indirect negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the Trump administration—which, according to the Wall Street Journal, were aimed at “limiting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program” and were seen by many as a suitable path to maintaining regional peace—these negotiations ultimately “turned into a convenient cover for a surprise Israeli attack.”

Honoring Aris Velouchiotis, 80 years since his death

By Nikos Mottas

The 16th of June 2025 marks the 80th anniversary since the death of the iconic Greek communist guerrilla Aris Velouchiotis.

A member of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and First Captain of the Greek People’s Liberation Army (ELAS) during World War Two, Velouchiotis has been a legendary personality of the Greek Resistance against the Axis occupation.

European Communist Action: The peoples must condemn Israel’s warmongering

The ongoing aggression of the murderous Israeli state—particularly in Palestine—is now spreading to other countries in the region. We strongly condemn the Israeli attack on Iran, which also targeted civilians, and express our solidarity with the people of Iran.

This act of aggression by Israel cannot be seen in isolation. All of its imperialist allies—including the United States, NATO, and the European Union—bear responsibility, whether through direct or indirect support, ongoing military, trade, or political cooperation.

Rethinking Fascism

By Ángel Chávez Mancilla

Bertolt Brecht famously stated: “Those who are against fascism without being against capitalism, who lament the barbarism that breeds barbarism, are like those who want to eat their slice of beef, but do not want the beef to be slaughtered.”

In this way, the German writer made it clear that the genuine anti-fascist struggle entailed the overthrow of capitalism, which is the matrix of fascism.

The attack was carried out under the pretext of Iran’s nuclear programme, but its real aim is to impose the imperialist plans of Israel and the USA on the wider region.

Source: The Associated Press
In a statement on the current violent clashes in Los Angeles, the Communist Workers’ Platform USA (CWPUSA) stresses out:

Driven by deep convictions on the safety of their fellow working class members, hundreds of protestors made the courageous decision to directly confront ICE agents. ICE has been a weapon of terror wielded by the ruling class against the workers of this country. Brutalizing migrant workers and breaking up families, Democratic and Republican governments alike have set these dogs on migrant workers. The anger of large sectors of the population with the policies of different managers of capital is growing.

As TASS reminds, Osh is the second largest city after Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The administration assured that the decision was made based on expediency, and not because of Russophobia.

India's communists oppose Elon Musk's Starlink entry in the country

The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) opposes the permission given by the government of India to Elon Musk’s Starlink to commence its operations in India.  More specifically, a statement by CPIM points out:

"There is no transparency in the entire process of how Starlink was accorded permission to operate in our country. StarLink is a foreign corporation and handing over India’s critical infrastructure to foreign hands has serious security implications. It provides a backdoor to US agencies into our telecom system and even our strategic communications.

Czech government attempts to ban communist activity: "Communists will never be silenced", says KSCM

Conservative Czech PM, Petr Fiala
In a another episode of anti-communist hysteria, the Czech Chamber of Deputies approved on Sunday 30 May an amendment to the Criminal Code that criminalizes the promotion of communist ideology, making it punishable by up to five years imprisonment!

More specifically, the amendment invokes the known, unhistorical and shameful theory of the "two extremes", thus equating communism with the monster of nazism; under the amended criminal law, the public display of the sickle and hammer or the Soviet flag would incur similar penalty as bearing swastikas or other Third Reich symbols!

Communist Party of Venezuela: May 25 elections were an exercise in protesting against authoritarianism

In a statement concerning the regional and parliamentary elections held of May 25, the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), stresses out:

Venezuela’s regional and parliamentary elections held on May 25 took place in a deeply undemocratic context, characterized by marked institutional opacity, particularly with regard to the criteria for the creation of the new electoral district corresponding to Guayana Esequiba; the absence of guarantees for political organizations and the electorate; the imposition of authoritarian political controls by the PSUV government elite; as well as a series of actions that demonstrate the systematic dismantling of the constitutional and legal framework.

The European countries where communist symbols and organizations are banned or restricted

By Fernando Ariza

In recent years, various European countries have implemented laws that prohibit the public display of communist symbols, as well as the existence of communist parties, in the context of a reactionary wave of anti-communism

Interestingly, at a time when socialism has long since disappeared from the European continent, the authorities are legislating with the aim of criminalizing an ideology that has historically been linked to significant social achievements for workers, especially during the early stage of the Soviet Union.

Turkish and Greek young communists against NATO — Joint Statement by TKG and KNE

Joint Statement by the Communist Youth of Turkey (TKG) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) concerning NATO's military drills in the region:

NATO is conducting a massive military exercise involving 12,000 troops until June 9th in the Balkans, centered around Alexandroupolis/Dedeağaç. Led by the USA, which relentlessly seeks to tighten its grip on the region, this operation is not about defense—it is a blatant act of aggression, just like all other NATO maneuvers. As always, the ones caught in the crosshairs are the working people.
