In a comment (here in Greek) concerning the horrific suicide bomb attack at Mar Elias Greek Orthodox Church in Damascus on Sunday 22 June, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), stresses out:
"The appalling suicide attack on the Greek Orthodox church of Prophet Elias (Mar Elias), in Damascus, which resulted in 22 deaths and dozens of injuries, bears the "stamp" of the regime of jihadist terrorists, who rose in power in Syria after the intervention of the USA - Israel - Turkey.
For the situation in Syria, responsibility belongs to those who rushed to welcome the fall of the Assad regime and to give credentials to the jihadist government, which from the first moment, as expected, turned against the Syrian people and especially the national and religious minorities.
The case of Syria, as well as those of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, the Balkan protectorate states, etc., prove that the interventions of the imperialists, under whatever pretext they are made, only lead to greater chaos, instability and suffering for the peoples."
