Statement by the European Communist Action (ECA) on the occasion of the 81st anniversary since the U.S. imperialist atrocity in Hiroshima and Nagasaki: 

Eighty-one years ago, the US war machine incinerated Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hundreds of thousands of civilians—workers, women, children, and the elderly—were killed by these acts of mass murder, the only wartime use of nuclear weapons in history.

On this day, 81 years ago, Nazi Germany capitulated to the socialist Soviet Union. The victory of socialism over the most brutal expression of capitalism was a fact. 

 

As we have done all previous years, we honour all the millions who gave their lives to achieve this goal, all those who became martyrs in the anti-fascist struggle. We never forget.

The Great October Socialist Revolution inspires our struggle for a world free from class exploitation and imperialist wars

108 years ago, the victory of the October Revolution demonstrated the power of revolutionary class struggle and paved the way for a society free from exploitation, insecurity, poverty, unemployment and war. It became a turning point in the history of humanity,  brought to the fore a superior form of social organization, socialism–communism, which is radically opposed to previous exploitative formations.

The European Communist Action Parties met via teleconference hosted by Communist Party of Turkey on 28 September 2025 under the title: “The war machine of Euro-Atlanticism, NATO and the EU against the peoples - The communists’ proposal for a way out in conditions of intensifying imperialist competition”.

This meeting took place only days after the 80th United Nations General Assembly, which  showcased the inter-imperialist rivalries, conflicts and regional wars around the world .

Statement by the European Communist Action on the 80th anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki:

The explosion of atomic bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki – crimes which should never be forgotten - demonstrated to the world the ruthless nature of U.S. imperialism and the terrible and devastating consequences of the use of nuclear weapons. The U.S. decision to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima (6 August 1945) and Nagasaki (9 August 1945) were calculated demonstrations of imperialist power aimed not just at Japan but at the Soviet Union and the global communist movement. 

European Communist Action: The peoples must condemn Israel’s warmongering

The ongoing aggression of the murderous Israeli state—particularly in Palestine—is now spreading to other countries in the region. We strongly condemn the Israeli attack on Iran, which also targeted civilians, and express our solidarity with the people of Iran.

This act of aggression by Israel cannot be seen in isolation. All of its imperialist allies—including the United States, NATO, and the European Union—bear responsibility, whether through direct or indirect support, ongoing military, trade, or political cooperation.

We salute the workers, youth, women and pensioners of Europe and the world. We honour the bloody uprising in Chicago and the heroic struggles of our class and draw inspiration from them for our struggle today.

URGENT statement of the European Communist Action in solidarity with TKP

The European Communist Action condemns the brutal repression and mass arrests of demonstrators, journalists, etc., including members and cadres of the Communist Party of Turkey, who oppose the unacceptable actions of the Turkish state in relation to arresting and removing from office the elected mayors in Istanbul, which means violation of right to vote and to be elected. These choices are in service to the political interests of the ruling AKP government and highlight its blatant disregard for any and all democratic processes.

The European Communist Action (ECA) conference took place on Sunday 16 March in Paris, on the theme: "Conclusions and perspectives for the labour movement in Europe".

The conference, organised two years after the major workers' mobilisations in France, which shook the country and the whole of Europe, aims to exchange the views and experiences of the CPs of ECA the  on the workers' movement in Europe.
