One year since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine: The KKE firmly at the forefront of the struggle against the imperialist war

One year since the outbreak of the imperialist war in Ukraine: blood and tears for the peoples - profits for capital

The KKE firmly at the forefront of the struggle against the imperialist war

Twelve days before V. Putin announced the “Special Military Operation”, as he called the Russian military invasion of the Ukrainian territories, Rizospastis commented the statements of the US official Kurt Volker, who claimed that “Russia may annex one-third of Ukraine”, assessing that Ukraine could lose all access to the Sea of Azov and that a land passage could be formed connecting the Russian Federation with Crimea.

Ukrainian regime removed the statue of Soviet hero Nikolai Vatutin who liberated Kiev in WWII

The statue of Soviet hero Nikolai Vatunin in Kiev.
In another episode of anti-communist, anti-soviet frenzy in Ukraine, the authorities of Kiev proceeded to the removal of the monument of Nikolai Vatunin, the Soviet General who led the liberation of the Ukrainian capital from the Nazis in World War Two

During the Soviet offensive to retake right-bank Ukraine, Vatutin led the 1st Ukrainian Front, which was responsible for the Red Army's offensives to the west and the southwest of Kiev and the eventual liberation of the city. The removal of Vatunin's statue is another link in the chain of the so-called "de-russification" in Ukraine, an anti-communist process that identifies the Soviet Union with capitalist Russia thus leading to the demolition of Soviet-era monuments and memorials (Read: Kiev street renamed to honor neo-Nazi criminals).

Greek communists-targets of the Ukrainian death list "Myrotvorets"

Joint statement by Giorgos Lambroulis, Member and Vice President of the Greek Parliament, Sotiris Zarianopoulos, former Member of the European Parliament, and Giorgos Maganas, cadre of the KKE, on the Press Project website:

"The inclusion of our names in the Ukrainian blacklist with the misleading title “Peacemaker” proves the fact that the Ukrainian bourgeois state chose to overtly target us, as well as our Party, the KKE, which accepted an invitation in November 2014 to visit the Donbas region to express our solidarity with the people of the region and Ukraine as a whole.

Lyudmila Gladkaya, journalist of «sb.by» portal suspects that the prosecution and the court simply cannot present any verifiable violations of the law and therefore have to backtrack on certain aspects. For example, in several court sessions, announced prosecution witnesses simply did not show up.

KKE: On the shameful effort for the recognition of the myth of "Holodomor" by EU Parliament

In a statement (here in Greek) issued on December 5, the EU Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the collection of signatures by well-known far-right, anti-communist MEPs regarding the 1932-33 famine in Ukraine. With unhistorical and unfounded claims recently adopted by the German Parliament, they invoke the alleged “deliberate extermination of the Ukrainian people by the Soviet Union, the Bolsheviks and Stalin”.

In a new episode of the hideous anti-communist campaign that is taking place in Ukraine, Kiev's authorities proceeded to the renaming of another street.

More specifically, a street  previously named in honor of Soviet Marshal Rodion Malinovsky was officially renamed on Wednesday as "Heroes of the Azov Battalion", in order to celebrate the neo-Nazi criminals who fight within the ranks of the Ukrainian military forces!

KKE: On the warmongering resolution supported by ND, SYRIZA and PASOK in the European Parliament

At a time when the imperialist war in Ukraine is dangerously escalating, the European Parliament adopted a resolution (07/10/2022) that literally constitutes a warmongering frenzy. Among other things, it ratifies and endorses the decision of the EU and member states to “increase military aid to Ukraine”, calls for the establishment of “a mechanism for military aid through leasing and lending to Ukraine”, and calls for coordination between governments even in regard to arms deliveries to Ukraine.

Statement of the KKE on Putin's address — Заявление КПГ по обращению Путина

Following the public address of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Wednesday 21 September, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement, underlining the escalation of the imperialist conflict and demanding Greece's immediate disengagement from the dangerous plans of EU and NATO.

The statement reads:

The imperialist war being waged in Ukraine between the Euro-Atlantic forces and capitalist Russia is heading for a new devastating escalation. It is confirmed that the build-up of military forces and materiel on both sides does not lead to the end of the war, but instead feeds the vicious circle of the continuation and intensification of the conflict.

Ukrainian death-list "myrotvorets" must close down!

By Nikos Mottas.

For almost eight years now, the Ukrainian state fosters and promotes the unacceptable and dangerous targeting of persons who are regarded as “enemies of Ukraine” by the government which emerged after the 2014 coup.

The targeting takes place through the infamous, Kyiv-based website "myrotvorets.center" (“Peacemaker”) which publishes personal information, including photos, home addresses, social media accounts, etc, of people who are labelled as “persona non grata” by the far-right Ukrainian establishment.

Ukraine and Russia governments unleash attack against workers' rights

Presidents Zelensky and Putin, both enemies of the working class.
In the midst of the imperialist war, the governments of Ukraine and Russia are promoting and implementing bills that undermine the rights of the workers in favor of the big capital.

Ukraine's Parliament Verkhovna Rada has passed two bills that obliterate workers' rights to collective bargaining and other fundamental labor protections, and allow employers to put up to 10% of their workforce on “zero hour” contracts leaving them without any control over their working lives.

Book: Truth and Lies about the famine in Ukraine, by Nikos Mottas

The mythology surrounding the so-called Holodomor, the Ukrainian famine of 1932-1933, is exposed in a concise 78-pages book edited by Nikos Mottas and published in Greek language by Atexnos Publishing House.

For many decades, the issue of the Ukrainian famine in 1932-33, the famous Holodomor, occupies a prominent place in the arsenal of anti-communism. Especially after the counter-revolutionary overthrows in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the early 1990s, the Holodomor is at the forefront of a systematic and persistent attempt to vilify socialism of the 20th century and present it as an evil, inhumane system which is supposedly responsible for millions of deaths.
