Venezuela's communists seek to build an alternative to Maduro in 2024

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), Oscar Figuera, ruled out an eventual electoral alliance with right-wing sectors that have promoted sanctions or invasions of the country, the Party's official news site "Tribuna Popular" has reported.

"In the PCV we want to build an alternative to Maduro in 2024. We have no problem meeting with Antonio Ecarri, but we will not make alliances with sectors that called for military invasions against Venezuela," Figuera said during an interview on the radio program "En Buena Hora", hosted by journalist Mario Villegas.

Venezuela: PCV denounces the murder of José Urbina

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) condemned the heinous assassination of communist militant José Urbina, which took place in the Pedro Camejo community, Apure state, where the victim lived.

“The regional committee of the PCV in the state of Apure condemns the heinous murder of our comrade José Urbina at his home”, the party's statement said.

Venezuela: Attacks against the Communist Party must stop!

In a joint statement more than 20 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world express solidarity to the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and demand an end to the various attacks against the political and electoral rights of the PCV, ahead of the January 2022 elections.

Communist Party of Venezuela: Statement on the extradition cases of Alex Saab, Claudia Diaz and Hugo Carvajal

The following statement by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) refers to the extradition cases of Alex Saab, Claudia Diaz and Hugo Carvajal:

"The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) reiterates its historic condemnation of US government’s efforts to take on the role of the world’s policeman and judge which it exercises today through the recurrent practice of illegally applying its national laws beyond its borders in flagrant violation of international law and the sovereignty of other countries.

Solidarity with the working people and the CP of Venezuela (PCV) against the attack on its political and electoral rights

In a joint statement more than 25 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world express their solidarity with the working people and the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV). Among others, the statement denounces the recent anti-communist attacks in the National Assembly against PCV General Secretary Óscar Figuera.
