Czech government attempts to ban communist activity: "Communists will never be silenced", says KSCM

Conservative Czech PM, Petr Fiala
In a another episode of anti-communist hysteria, the Czech Chamber of Deputies approved on Sunday 30 May an amendment to the Criminal Code that criminalizes the promotion of communist ideology, making it punishable by up to five years imprisonment!

More specifically, the amendment invokes the known, unhistorical and shameful theory of the "two extremes", thus equating communism with the monster of nazism; under the amended criminal law, the public display of the sickle and hammer or the Soviet flag would incur similar penalty as bearing swastikas or other Third Reich symbols!

During the last two decades, Czech Republic, alongside Poland and the Baltic States, are in the front lines of the anti-communist crusade, promoted and coordinated by the European Union and its institutions. We remind that two years ago, Dr. Josef Skala, a high-ranking cadre of the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM), was persecuted by Czech authorities for challenging the official narrative on the Katyn massacre!

In a statement titled "Communists will never be silenced", the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM), stresses out:

"The Chamber of Deputies of Czech Parliament definitely confirmed that it is silencing its opponents by restriction of constitutional laws and freedoms, when it approved, within the amendment of the Criminal Code a criminal offence of all the forms of support and promotion of the communist movement.

Petr Fiala´ s government is so far responsible for introduction of censorship, prohibition of the web-pages and persecution of the political opponents, their criminalization and their firing from jobs for political reasons.

The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM) strongly rejects such an amendment of the Criminal Code. It considers that it is purpose made and discriminatory. Repeated attempts that were rejected by the public in the past to outlaw the KSCM, the instigators of the move want to satisfy the rest of their voters and intimidate whoever is criticising nowadays regime.

The KSCM won´t be silenced by anybody, as well as the values that the communists are advocating – values of international cooperation, solidarity, progress and peace."
