Which are the forces responsible for the unequal status of women, the violence against women, the daily humiliations and creation of multiple barriers in women’s struggles for freedom?

Party of Communists, USA: Condemns U.S. government's hostile policy against Russia

PCUSA STATEMENT ON U.S HOSTILITIES AGAINST RUSSIA.

The Party of Communists USA (PCUSA) condemns militarist efforts to isolate and harass Russia. U.S. imperialism continues to ramp up its hostility to Russia, to a point where, informed observers believe the U.S. and Russia are closer to war now more than since the overthrow of socialism in the U.S.S.R. in the early Nineties. Some even assess the hostilities to be greater than at any time since the end of World War II. The hysterical accusations grow wilder each time: Russia is accused of having shot down a Malaysian passenger jet, duped U.S. voters into electing Donald Trump, and poisoned an ex-spy, all without evidence.

Rizospastis: "No trust in the bourgeois class and her governments at all"

Greek PM Alexis Tsipras (Right) with Defense Minister
Panos Kammenos, dressed in military uniforms during an
exercise of the Greek Armed Forces.
No trust in the bourgeois class and her governments.

Abstract from "Rizospastis
(7-8 April 2018, p.9).

While the country's involvement in the US-NATO-EU plans in the region grows, so it happens with the effort of the bourgeois class, of her staff and parties to “call up” the people in the dangerous plans, to “prepare the ground” for the possibility of fast developments, even of a war engagement, interchanging the dangerous complacency and the placement of hope to the imperialist unions with ultrapatriotic rhetoric and the people's “psychological” preparation.

This is Capitalism #7 - Richest 1% on target to own two-thirds of all wealth by 2030

According to a report published in The Guardian (7 April), the world’s richest 1% are on course to control as much as two-thirds of the world’s wealth by 2030

An alarming projection produced by the UK House of Commons library suggests that if trends seen since the 2008 financial crash were to continue, then the top 1% will hold 64% of the world’s wealth by 2030. Even taking the financial crash into account, and measuring their assets over a longer period, they would still hold more than half of all wealth.

Canada's Communist Party slams Trudeau for his stance on the Skripal case

In a statement, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Canada condemns the decision of the Trudeau government to expel four Russian diplomats, calling it "part of a dangerous New Cold War".

In fact, the expulsions exceed any equivalent action taken since the height of the Cold War. Nearly 150 Russian diplomats have been expelled from 24 countries, including 60 from the US.

The U.S. to set up new military bases in Greek islands, reports say

Does the U.S. government intend to install new military bases in Greece? According to news reports in Greece, U.S. military installations have been scheduled to take place in the Aegean Sea.

The Athens daily "Estia" reported that "the Ministry Defense has contacted the U.S. embassy and proposed the construction of a large heliport in a flat-island close to Kalymnos, in order to be used as a base for the landing and refueling of allied helicopters".

These scenarios are combined with the maintenance and upgrade process of the U.S-NATO military bases within Greece's territory, which was agreed during Prime Minister Tsipras' visit to Washington DC last October. In the northern city of Alexandroupolis, the U.S. have already set up a military base in the port, while there are plans for construction works in the Aegean island of Syros, the port of which could also be used as a hub for U.S-NATO forces.

Communist Party of Ireland: The servile and collaborationist approach of the Irish establishment to EU and NATO must end!

The decision by the Government to expel a Russian diplomat as part of a co-ordinated response by EU and NATO member-countries is but another example of how far the Irish establishment has aligned this state with their military strategies.

The expulsion of the diplomat is justified by the unproven involvement in some type of chemical attack on a former Russian double agent and his daughter in England in early March, which the British have blamed on Moscow. The Russians have continually asked for a sample of the chemical toxins used for their own tests, which has been denied.

Interview with the Communist Party (Italy)

Special interview with Guido Ricci, member of the Political Bureau and head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, Italy (Partito Comunista).

IDC: Taking into account the existing difficulties and the political correlation of forces, how do you evaluate the result of the March elections for the Communist Party, Italy? Did you achieve the basic objectives you had set before the elections?

PC: As you know, our Party does not consider elections and the parliamentary activity as the only possible form of struggle. According to the teachings of Lenin and Gramsci, the presence in the bourgeois parliament must be used to develop the work outside and against it. We approached these elections as an opportunity to verify our Party's mobilization ability, improve our organizational skills and attract new militants. We considered the elections as a means of making the party grow. Actually, a considerable number of workers and young people came into contact with the Party during the signatures drive and the election campaign. New party organizations have been established and the existing ones have been strengthened thanks to new comrades joining them.

63 years ago: EOKA's nationalists begin the armed struggle in Cyprus

Members of EOKA in Troodos mountain. Third
from the right is Georgios Grivas (sitting).
It was the 1st of April 1955, 63 years ago, when the National Organisation of Cypriot Fighters, known by the acronym EOKA, began its armed guerrilla struggle aiming at the union of Cyprus with Greece.

EOKA was a nationalist, deeply anticommunist organisation. The plans for its creation had already began in 1950, with the active support of the Greek bourgeois class and the consent of Archbishop Makarios. The organisation's leader was the notorious nationalist, known for his anticommunist sentiments, Georgios Grivas.

It is characteristic that during the Nazi occupation of Greece in 1940s, Grivas had founded and led the "X" far-right guerrilla organisation, which was mainly made up by officers of the bourgeois Greek army. During the December 1944 events in Athens, members of the "X organisation fought alongside Greek bourgeois forces and British imperialists against the EAM-ELAS popular movement.
