“Two days ago someone asked me why I oppose the war,” she said. “I replied that answers should be demanded from those who start wars, not from those who oppose them. The default must be opposition to war, because wars will never bring security or peace.”
On Saturday evening, demonstrators gathered at Habima Square in Tel Aviv to protest the government’s decision to continue the military assault. The Communist Party of Israel leading member, who has been suspended from Israel’s parliament for 10 months of the last two years because of his public denunciations of the Gaza genocide, described how Jewish settlers “in a chilling imitation of other Nazis” set fire to a mosque last week in the occupied West Bank.
This includes halting the destruction of the Gaza Strip—its cities, towns, and refugee camps—as well as stopping annexation, settlement expansion, and forced deportations in the occupied West Bank. Every passing minute of this ongoing conflict results in further massacres and displacement that must cease without delay.
Far from being isolated crimes or tragic mistakes, he argued, these are the pillars of a calculated plan that has been years in the making—one that aims to secure permanent domination over Palestinians while dismantling democracy for Jews and Arabs alike.
According to Channel 12 reports, Israel informed the US of its intention to strike Hamas leaders in Qatar when the jets were already in the air.
In a comment regarding the attack, the left-wing coalition Hadash (Democratic Front for Peace and Equality) stresses out:
