Statement by  Communist Workers' Platform of the USA on the Indictment of Raúl Castro and Imperialist Threats Against Cuba

"The Communist Workers' Platform of the USA denounces the profane indictment of General Raúl Castro by the Trump administration as a further escalation of its aggressive campaign to strangle the Cuban Revolution. Guided by its dangerous plans for control in the Western Hemisphere outlined in the National Security Strategy, US imperialism is utilizing this indictment to lay the groundwork for a military attack against Cuba and its people. 

“Hands Off Cuba!”: Thousands join militant KKE rally at the U.S. Embassy in Athens

A large and militant march of solidarity with the heroic Cuban people swept through the streets of Athens as the Organizations of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) led a powerful demonstration against U.S. imperialist aggression and the criminal blockade imposed on Cuba.

Following a large demonstration on Saturday (23/5) afternoon, hundreds of demonstrators marched toward the U.S. embassy chanting: “Hands off Cuba!”, “Cuba is not alone!” and the historic anti-imperialist slogan “Neither land nor water to the murderers of the peoples!”.

Communist Party of Greece (KKE): Solidarity with the courageous people of Cuba against criminal imperialist plans and any attempt at military intervention

In a statement concerning the aggressive actions of the United States against Cuba, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) emphasizes the following:

“We condemn the provocative issuance by the United States of an arrest warrant against the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro —a move through which US imperialism once again bares its teeth against the heroic Cuban people, whom it has long sought to strangle economically through the criminal blockade imposed upon the country.

KKE MEP: Any attempt at US military intervention in Cuba must be condemned and prevented

During the hypocritical debate on human rights in Cuba held at the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE’s) MEPs intervened through a statement delivered by the Party's Eurodeputy Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos.

The debate, which began with High Representative Kaja Kallas remaining silent on the US embargo, soon descended into an outpouring of anti-communism, attacks, and threats directed against Cuba. These, however, were firmly answered by  both the KKE MEP and other MEPs.

Raúl Castro is a hero: The real criminals are the U.S. Imperialists

Raúl Castro is certainly not a criminal, regardless of how desperately the Trump administration attempts to portray him as one. He is a revolutionary who dedicated his life to the struggle against dictatorship, foreign domination and capitalist exploitation in Cuba. The renewed threats surrounding a possible U.S. arrest warrant against him are nothing more than another act of imperial arrogance by a state that has spent more than sixty years trying to suffocate the Cuban Revolution through blockade, sabotage, economic warfare and permanent political aggression.

Anti-Cuba session at European Parliament turns into fiasco after KKE intervention

The joint session of the European Parliament’s Committees on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Human Rights (DROI), convened under the pretext of discussing “the human rights situation in Cuba,” was intended to become yet another parade of opponents and subversive elements hostile to the Cuban people, including the notorious provocateur José Daniel Ferrer, thus providing further justification for imperialist aggression against Cuba.

 

When socialist Cuba embraced Chernobyl's children

Thirty years after the Chernobyl disaster, the scale of the catastrophe remains difficult to grasp. Entire regions were contaminated, thousands of lives were disrupted, and the effects of radiation followed people for decades. The 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties to be held in Havana on 7-9 August

The meeting of the Working Group (WG) of the International Meetings of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) was successfully concluded on Sunday, April 19, in Istanbul. The session focused on determining the venue, theme, and organizational matters for the 24th International Meeting.

The Working Group decided that the 24th IMCWP will take place in Havana from August 7 to 9, 2026, under the theme: “We defend and honor the legacy of the Cuban Revolution on the centenary of Fidel Castro; we deepen our solidarity with socialist Cuba; we strengthen our joint actions and unite our forces for peace and against imperialist aggression.”

How the European Parliament promotes anti-Cuban propaganda by applying double standards

A revealing case of “double standards” by the European Parliament has come to light regarding its stance toward socialist Cuba.

On 13 January 2026, the parliamentary group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) scheduled an exhibition dedicated to the internationalist contribution of Cuban doctors, focusing on the Henry Reeve medical brigades and their role in supporting peoples affected by pandemics and natural disasters. The exhibition was rejected by the Parliament’s authorities.

Why socialist Cuba is more democratic than the U.S

The renewed escalation of hostility by the Trump administration towards Cuba—through tightened sanctions, political pressure, and open ideological aggression—once again exposes a fundamental contradiction. 

A country that presents itself as the "global model of democracy" continues to treat a small socialist island as a persistent threat. This is not a coincidence. It points to something deeper: what is being contested is not “democracy” in the abstract, but two fundamentally different ways of organizing power in society.

What If Cuba Had Nuclear Weapons? The Limits of “Peaceful Coexistence”

Cuba responds firmly to U.S destabilization attempts: Morón vandalism denounced by revolutionary forces

The recent events in Morón have once again exposed the real dynamics at play in Cuba: a people enduring material hardship under siege, and a handful of disruptive elements attempting to turn those hardships into political destabilization.

In the early hours of March 14, a group of individuals carried out acts of vandalism against the local headquarters of the Communist Party, setting fire to property and attempting to manufacture an image of generalized unrest. 

 

From Bay of Pigs to Speedboats: Trump Still Doesn’t Get It

There are moments when the class character of imperialist aggression reveals itself with brutal clarity. February 25, 2026, was one such moment. Cuban border guards intercepted a Florida-registered speedboat just one nautical mile off Cayo Falcones in Villa Clara province. The vessel carried ten armed Cuban exiles operating from U.S. soil. 

 

When the patrol approached to enforce sovereignty, the infiltrators opened fire. Cuban forces defended themselves, killing four − including at least one U.S. citizen − and wounding six. 

 

Why is it important for Communist and Workers Parties to meet in Havana this year?
