Following a large demonstration on Saturday (23/5) afternoon, hundreds of demonstrators marched toward the U.S. embassy chanting: “Hands off Cuba!”, “Cuba is not alone!” and the historic anti-imperialist slogan “Neither land nor water to the murderers of the peoples!”.
Outside the U.S. embassy, demonstrators unfurled two huge banners directly facing the embassy building, delivering a clear message of defiance against American imperialism and solidarity with revolutionary Cuba. Speaking during the rally, KKE Politburo member Thodoris Hionis stressed that “Cuba is not alone” and declared that the peoples of the world will ultimately defeat imperialism. Protesters repeatedly condemned the role of the United States and NATO, demanding an immediate end to all aggression against socialist Cuba.
Protesters emphasized that the Cuban people continue to resist extraordinary pressure with dignity and courage, defending their sovereignty and socialist system against the permanent hostility of U.S. imperialism.
The mobilization ended outside the U.S. embassy with loud chants against imperialism and messages of unwavering solidarity with revolutionary Cuba. The message sent from Athens was clear and unmistakable: Cuba will not stand alone in the face of imperialist threats and blackmail.
