Joint statement by the Palestinian People's Party (PPP) and the Communist Party of Israel, co-signed by many Communist and Workers' Parties, on the International Day for Solidarity with the Palestinian People:

IMCWP: Solidarity with the CP of Cuba and the Cuban people

In a teleconference held on 5-6 November 2021, the Working Group of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) issued the following statement of solidarity with Cuba:

STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA

 ¡No pasarán!

The Cuban Revolution, whose 62nd anniversary is approaching, is a milestone in the history of the class struggles. The Cuban people fighting for independence, equality, freedom and justice have achieved all the above under the banner of socialism and revolution. 

Communist and Workers' Parties: The people of Sudan will win! The coup will fail!

In a joint statement, more than 35 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world condemn the military coup in Sudan and express their solidarity with the communists and the people of the African country. 

The statement reads:

"The Communist and Workers’ Parties signing this Joint Statement condemn the military coup that took place over the last hours in Sudan.

Solidarity with the working people and the CP of Venezuela (PCV) against the attack on its political and electoral rights

In a joint statement more than 25 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world express their solidarity with the working people and the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV). Among others, the statement denounces the recent anti-communist attacks in the National Assembly against PCV General Secretary Óscar Figuera.

Communists of the world bid farewell to Mikis Theodorakis

Communist Parties from Russia to Chile and from Turkey to Mexico express their condolences for the death of the legendary Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis who died on September 2nd aged 96. 

In a message published on Twitter the President of the Republic of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez pays tribute to the late composer: 

"Mikis Theodorakis died and the world accompanies the mourning of Greece for one of the greatest musicians of all times. Cuba, which always had his militant solidarity, also mourns. Let the Canto General sound in his memory". 

Afghanistan Crisis: Statements by Communist Parties

Since the beginning of the rapid developments in Afghanistan and the comeback of Taliban in the power, Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world have issued statements concerning the situation in the country. 

 

The vast majority of statements refer to the disastrous role of US-EU imperialism, the military intervention in 2001, as well as the immense responsibilities of the U.S. and European governments for supporting the rise of Taliban in the 1980s, primary in the war against the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan.

Cuba will win! Joint statement of Communist and Workers Parties

In a joint statement, more than 60 Communist and Workers' Parties express their solidarity to Cuba, denouncing the orchestrated provocation by the USA and counterrevolutionary groups. 

The statement reads: 

Cuba is not alone! Communist Parties condemn U.S-backed provocation against Cuba

Cuba, the Island of the Revolution, is not alone! Millions of people from all over the world denounce the U.S-backed imperialist provocation and express their solidarity to the government and the people of Cuba. 

 

"Cuba and its streets belong to the revolutionaries", underlined Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

In their statements, Communist and Workers Parties reaffirm their unequivocal solidarity towards Cuba, demand an end to the genocidal blockade imposed by the U.S. governments and point out that the destabilization attempts will fail. 

Communist and Workers’ Parties strongly denounce NATO's aggressive agenda

In a joint statement Communist and Workers' Parties strongly denounce the aggressive plans of NATO confirmed in the recent Summit in Brussels and warn that the "NATO 2030" strategic agenda is a "preparation for war". The full statement reads:

21st Congress of the KKE: Greeting messages by Communist and Workers Parties

On June 24-27, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) will hold its 21st Congress in the party headquarters in Athens. As the date approaches, Communist and Workers Parties from all over the world send greeting messages.

Communist Parties from all over the world express solidarity with the Palestinian people

Communist and Workers' Parties from every corner of the world condemn the criminal Israeli aggression in Gaza and Jerusalem and express their solidarity with the Palestinian people. 

COVID Vaccines: Communist Parties say "No" to patents

On the issue of the patent for the COVID-19 vaccines, more than 60 Communist and Workers' Parties have issued the following statement:

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a great tragedy for more than a year now. In this period, in many countries, millions of workers have caught the disease, losing their health, their jobs or even their lives. On the other hand, in the same time frame, some companies that have sold the essential needs food, hygienic materials, masks and finally, vaccines, as commodities, have become among the wealthiest in the world. The capitalist class has turned the pandemic into an opportunity for greater exploitation of workers in order to make more profits. 

Joint Statement: Slander and threats against the Communist Party of Venezuela are unacceptable

More than 40 Communist and Workers' Parties sign a joint statement denouncing the attempt by Venezuela's governing party PSUV and President Maduro to politically marginalize and undermine the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV).

Teleconference of the Parties of the European Communist Initiative: "The necessity of Socialism is highlighted every day"

A Teleconference of the full Plenum of the European Communist Initiative (ECI) parties took place on Sunday 13 December.

The following parties participated in the Teleconference: Party of Labour of Austria, Union of Communists in Bulgaria, Socialist Workers' Party of Croatia, Communist Party in Denmark, Communist Workers' Party - For Peace and Socialism (Finland), Communist Revolutionary Party of France, Pole for the Communist Revival in France, Unified Communist Party of Georgia, Communist Party of Greece, Hungarian Workers' Party, Communist Party, Italy, Socialist Party of Latvia, Communist Party of Norway, Communist Party of Poland, Russian Communist Workers Party, Communist Party of the Workers of Spain, Communist Party of Sweden, Communist Party of Turkey, Union of Communists of Ukraine.

Communist and Workers' Parties of the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and the Gulf hold regional teleconference

Twelve Communist Parties of the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East region participated in a Teleconference organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). The Teleconference's major subject was "The Communist and Workers' Parties firmly at the side of the just struggle of the Palestinian people, in the struggle against imperialist war and capitalist exploitation".  

 

Apart from the host party, the KKE, the participants parties in the Teleconference were:

Solidarity with the KKE — Communist and Workers' Parties denounce Greek government's authoritarianism

Yesterday, on the 47th anniversary of the Polytechnic Uprising, the rally of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was violenty attacked by riot police forces in the center of Athens.

A few days ago the conservative New Democracy (ND) government, escalating authoritarianism and repression, banned anti-imperialist demonstrations and any gathering of more than three people across the country, on the pretext that the march would be a health 'time bomb' due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The KKE performed its rally, in an organized way and observing all the necessary social distancing measures. But the police, on the orders of the government, unleashed an unprovoked attack with batons, tear gas, water cannons and stun grenades. The police did not hesitate to attack KKE MPs, while also injuring protesters and proceeding to dozens of arrests.

On this occasion, numerous Communist Parties express their solidarity and support to the KKE.

Against the proliferation of biological weapons: Joint statement by Communist and Workers Parties

On the initiative of the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan and the Unified Communist Party of Georgia, Communist and Workers' Parties have signed the following statement:

We, the Communist and workers ' parties, with a sense of responsibility to our peoples, struggle for immediate measures for the protection of health and the access of all workers to free treatment and the coronavirus vaccine. At the same time, we express our deep concern for the existence and operation of military biological laboratories and declare that we demand a ban on the development and proliferation of biological weapons.

USA Protests: Joint Declaration by Communist Parties in solidarity with the people of the U.S.

After an initiative by the Communist Party of Canada (CPC), the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) and the Communist Party, USA (CPUSA) more than 40 Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world have signed a joint declaration in solidarity with the workers and the people of the United States, against repression, capitalism and its barbarism. 

The Joint Declaration reads:

KKE: The joint action and coordination of the Communist Parties under pandemic conditions

The recent successful tele-conference held by the Communist and Workers’ Parties that cooperate within the framework of the European Communist Initiative, in which 24 parties from many European countries participate, constituted a new form of exchanging opinions and coordination of their efforts.
