From Bay of Pigs to Speedboats: Trump Still Doesn’t Get It

There are moments when the class character of imperialist aggression reveals itself with brutal clarity. February 25, 2026, was one such moment. Cuban border guards intercepted a Florida-registered speedboat just one nautical mile off Cayo Falcones in Villa Clara province. The vessel carried ten armed Cuban exiles operating from U.S. soil. 

 

When the patrol approached to enforce sovereignty, the infiltrators opened fire. Cuban forces defended themselves, killing four − including at least one U.S. citizen − and wounding six. 

 

Massive KKE rally in Greece sends message of solidarity with Cuba: “CUBA IS NOT ALONE!”

Thousands of people gathered on Wednesday afternoon at Syntagma Square in Athens in a massive demonstration of internationalist solidarity with Cuba and its heroic people, organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

The rally sent a strong political message against the decades-long U.S. blockade and imperialist threats, with demonstrators chanting and proclaiming that “Cuba is not alone.”

My name is like millions of others – no famous last name, no important position. I am an ordinary Cuban woman – a daughter, a sister, a patriot. I write this with a broken heart and trembling hands. KKE in EU Parliament denounces U.S threats towards Cuba, submits question to Kaja Kallas

The threats of an imperialist attack against Cuba, along with the demand for the immediate lifting of the country’s economic blockade and its removal from the list of “states sponsoring terrorism,” are highlighted in a parliamentary question submitted to the High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Members of the European Parliament, Kostas Papadakis and Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos.

 

Communist and Anti-imperialist Youth Organizations: Solidarity with the Cuban people! Hands off Cuba!

This is not a slogan invented for effect. It is a reflection of two opposing social systems, two different priorities, two irreconcilable visions of what a society should produce—and for whom.

KKE in EU Parliament: In the face of new threats from the US, we demand: hands off Cuba!

In a statement regarding the new provocative threats of the U.S administration against Cuba, the MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) stress out:

"Having become emboldened after its imperialist intervention in Venezuela, the Trump administration is now intensifying its aggression against Cuba, with the ridiculous argument that it is "facing aggressive actions." In this context, the US is considering imposing tariffs and sanctions on countries that supply Cuba with oil and other vital commodities, as well as a "naval blockade" of the Island of Revolution.

Why we should defend Cuba at all costs

The recent escalation of vicious threats and coercive measures against Cuba by the Trump administration marks a new phase in a policy that is neither accidental nor episodic.

 The tightening of sanctions, the targeting of fuel supplies, the intensification of financial restrictions, and the open rhetoric of intimidation together constitute a deliberate sharpening of economic warfare against the Cuban people. 

Communist Party of Cuba blasts Trump government's threats: We are the country of Patria o Muerte!

Communist Party of Cuba denounces U.S subversive actions, appeals for internationalist solidarity

With a message addressed to fraternal Communist Parties as well as to social and political solidarity organizations across the world, the Communist Party of Cuba (Partido Comunista de Cuba - PCC) denounces the new attempt of the U.S government to destabilize the Revolution by openly interfering in the country's internal affairs.

Stop the blockade now! WFTU solidarity campaign with the people of Cuba

In accordance with the 2023 Presidential Council’s unanimous decision the World Federation of Trade Unions is organizing a solidarity campaign with the people of Cuba, on the occasion of the 26th of July, the anniversary of the attack on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba, spreading the strong internationalist message that Cuba is not alone.

The 26th of July marks the beginning of the revolutionary attempt to overthrow the dictator, Fulgencio Batista, which gave hope to workers all over the world and showed that the people can defeat the exploiters and can create a society free from exploitation. 

MEPs of the KKE: Statement on the new despicable ploy against Cuba in the European Parliament

The MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounce the new unacceptable ploy of the European Parliament against Cuba before the peoples of the world.

Through the resolution adopted by the European parliament on 12/7/23, it is once again demonstrated that the EU’s long-standing aim is to undermine the achievements of the Cuban people.

USA: Militant demonstration in solidarity with socialist Cuba held in Washington DC

On June 25, hundreds of activists marched to the White House in Washington DC to demand US president Joe Biden take Cuba off the list of “State Sponsors of Terrorism” and lift the 63 year blockade against the island. 

 

Speakers at the rally highlighted that not only does the inclusion of Cuba on this list have no legal grounds, but it has caused immense difficulties in Cuba with the island seeing the most serious food, fuel, and electricity shortages in recent history.

KKE MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos

The European Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) intervened in support of Cuba at a meeting held at the Committee on Petitions (PETI).

More specifically, as 902 portal reported, KKE MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos denounced the criminal US blockade against Cuba, expressed the solidarity of the KKE towards the struggle of the Cuban people against imperialism and exposed the lies and slanders released by the EU and various MEPs, from social democrats to the far-right, concerning supposed “human rights violation” in Cuba.
