KKE denounces Turkey's air strikes in Syria, north Iraq

The new Turkish military offensive in Syria and northern Iraq consists a demonstration of power under the compliance of USA, EU and Russia, reads a statement issued by the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE).

More specifically, the statement reads (here in Greek):

"The KKE denounces Turkey's new unacceptable air strike on the Kurdish areas of Syria and Northern Iraq, which is added to the military operations of the previous period and the maintenance of the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands and military forces on Iraq's territory. 

Italian communist and workers' organizations: NO TO IMPERIALIST WAR — NO ALLA GUERRA IMPERIALISTA

The following joint statement was adopted by Italian communist and internationalist organizations which participated at the national conference "The war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the great world chaos. What to do?", held on 16 October in Rome.

The full text reads:

"We, the communist, militant, worker and internationalist organizations, united in the national conference "The war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the great world chaos. What to do?" held on 16 October in Rome, we call for maximum mobilization against the war and unitedly promote the following theses for collective debate:

RKSM(b): Only a revolutionary people's government can save Russia from NATO aggression

In a statement issued on October 10th, about the mobilization in Russia and the escalation of the imperialist war in Ukraine, the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Communist Youth League of Russia (Bolsheviks) stresses out the following:

"The past months of the so-called «special military operation» (SMO) confirmed the predictions of the communists considering the trap, which imperialist Russia had fallen (could not be otherwise). The SMO began with the brave battle shouts of the propagandists, but then «something went wrong». First, a generous retreat from Kiev, then the withdrawal from Zmiinyi (Snake) Island (which was at first declared to be strategically important, and then suddenly ceased to be such). Finally, the recent «straightening of the front» near Kharkiv.

Communist Party of Sweden slams NATO, Ukraine and Russia for the escalation of imperialist war

In a statement issued on Wednesday (here in Riktpunkt) the Communist Party of Sweden (SKP) refers to the escalation of the imperialist conflict between the Euro-atlantic powers and Russia in Ukraine. On the occasion of NATO's nuclear weapons exercise that will take place this week, SKP points out:

“Russia was invaded Ukraine, annexed parts of Ukraine and bombed capital Kiev. All this happened without taking into account the increasingly tense threat of a global scale war. 

RKSM(b): Statement on the entry of Donbass, Kherson and Zaporozhye into Russia

In a recent statement concerning the admission of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the Russian Federation, the CC of the  Revolutionary Communist Youth League of Russia (Bolsheviks) points out:

«People have made their choice, an unambiguous choice. Today we are signing treaties on the admission of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People’s Republic, the Kherson Region, and the Zaporozhye Region into the Russian Federation,» President Vladimir Putin said during the ceremony of the regions’ accession to Russia on September 30.

KKE General Secretary Koutsoumbas: "Greece must be immediately disengaged from the imperialist war"

The General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, proceeded today in a comment concerning the dangerous developments in the imperialist war in Ukraine

The comment of General Secretary Koutsoumbas reads:

“The developments on the front of the imperialist war in Ukraine mark the intensity of the confrontation with incalculable dangers for the peoples. Not only for the people of Ukraine and Russia who are at the center of this conflict, but also for the people of the entire world who are already paying the heavy cost of expensiveness and energy poverty. 

Statement of the KKE on the annexation of Ukrainian territories by Russia

Following the announcement of the annexation of Ukrainian territories by the Russian Federation, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued the following statement (here in Greek):

"The annexation of the Ukrainian territories of Kherson, Zaporizhia, Lugansk and Donetsk by Russia, announced by President Putin following the completion of the referendums in these regions, adds more “fuel to the fire”.

Ukrainian, Russian young communists give lesson on proletarian internationalism

In a period when the various modern Kautskyites and other opportunists continue to promote the interests of the Russian bourgeois class thus becoming eager servants of the reactionary Putin government in its fierce competition with the western imperialists, young communists from Russia and Ukraine send a powerful message of proletarian internationalism from Athens.

The photo from the 48th KNE-Odigitis Festival, where 35 foreign delegations of Communist Youths are represented, is revealing: Side by side, the Revolutionary Communist Youth League of Russia (Bolsheviks) and the Youth Wing of the Union of Communists of Ukraine remind us that the only thing that can actually oppose bourgeois nationalism, chauvinism and fascism, is proletarian internationalism. 

Statement of the KKE on Putin's address — Заявление КПГ по обращению Путина

Following the public address of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Wednesday 21 September, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement, underlining the escalation of the imperialist conflict and demanding Greece's immediate disengagement from the dangerous plans of EU and NATO. 

The statement reads:

The imperialist war being waged in Ukraine between the Euro-Atlantic forces and capitalist Russia is heading for a new devastating escalation. It is confirmed that the build-up of military forces and materiel on both sides does not lead to the end of the war, but instead feeds the vicious circle of the continuation and intensification of the conflict.

D. Koutsoumbas: The peoples’ struggle can put an end to the causes of the bloodshed of war

The 48th festival of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) continues with a wide range of political and cultural activities. On Saturday 17/9/22, the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, addressed a speech at the events in Thessaloniki. 

 

In his speech, he highlighted the strategic identification of the parties supporting Euro-Atlanticism and the choices of capital and referred in detail to the struggle of the KKE and its political proposal. He devoted an important part of his speech to international developments and the KKE’s assessments of them,an extensive excerpt of which reads as follows:

KKE on Erdogan's provocations: NATO, US and EU fuel Turkish aggression

In a statement concerning the provocative statements of Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan in the United Nations, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out:

“Erdogan's delirium at the UN General Assembly, where he presented the entire range of claims by the Turkish ruling class against Greece and Cyprus, cannot be interpreted as a pre-electoral tactic, nor as a product of Turkey's alleged isolation. 

KKE: Cyprus is being integrated deeper into US-NATO plans in the competition with Russia

Cyprus, which is already being used as a NATO base, is being integrated deeper into US-NATO plans in the framework of the competition with Russia, a statement by the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) points out on the occasion of the lifting of the US arms embargo on Cyprus.

More specifically, the statement published on 902 portal stresses out: 

“The celebrations of the forces of “Euro-Atlanticism” for the decision of the USA to completely lift the arms embargo on Cyprus, which they had imposed in 1987, attempt to hide the painful reality experienced by the Cypriot people from the island's involvement in the imperialist plans and competitions.

Russia: Communist local deputy fined for appealing to Putin for peace

On May 27th, Communist lawmakers in Russia's far east Primorye region expressed their disagreement over the imperialist war in Ukraine and called President Vladimir Putin to end the military campaign (read here).

We demand the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. We demand an end to military action”, legislative assembly member Leonid Vasyukevich had said during a session. Vasyukevich, member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) back then, said continuing Russia’s three-month campaign in Ukraine “would lead to an imminent increase in military deaths and injuries.” "During a military operation, people become disabled. These are young people who could be of great use to our country," he added.  

Ukraine and Russia governments unleash attack against workers' rights

Presidents Zelensky and Putin, both enemies of the working class.

In the midst of the imperialist war, the governments of Ukraine and Russia are promoting and implementing bills that undermine the rights of the workers in favor of the big capital.

Ukraine's Parliament Verkhovna Rada has passed two bills that obliterate workers' rights to collective bargaining and other fundamental labor protections, and allow employers to put up to 10% of their workforce on “zero hour” contracts leaving them without any control over their working lives. 

Ástor García: "To deny the imperialist nature of Russia today is to deny reality"

Union of Communists of Ukraine: On the War and the tasks of the working class

The general assessment of the nature of the war launched under the guise of a special military operation (SMO) by the Union of Communists of Ukraine (UCU) generally coincides with the Statement of the Communist and Workers' Parties of February 24, 2022, supported by the UCU.

KKE MEP: The Euro-Atlantic camp and capitalist Russia are complicit in war massacres

On Wednesday 6 July, a discussion titled “The relations of the Russian government and diplomatic network with parties of extremist, populist, anti-European and certain other European political parties in the context of the war” took place at the plenary of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. 

 

In his short and well pointed intervention, the MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos stressed out the following:

The KKE denounces the sending of weapons to Ukraine by the Greek government

Giorgos Marinos, member of the PB of the CC of the KKE and MP, made an intervention in the Standing Committee on National Defence and Foreign Affairs demanding that the Minister of National Defence inform the Committee about the sending of military equipment to Ukraine and not hold a briefing behind closed doors. 

 

He stressed that the issue is crucial and linked with the dangerous involvement in the war and the US–NATO plans. 

On the unacceptable stance of the RCWP towards KKE

Comrades,

We received your reply to the CC of the KKE of 6 May 2022 and we also read the article which was published in SOLIDNET.

First of all, we are saddened with the style and the unacceptable accusations addressed to our party in both texts, which are absolutely baseless and unacceptable. The leadership of the RCWP is well aware of the fact that the KKE has supported your party as well many CPs, that it has essentially assisted them in difficult moments, and that it has expressed its solidarity in practice, faithful to the principle of proletarian internationalism. These facts refute the slander of arrogance on our party which are used in order to justify the mistaken positions of the leadership of the RCWP, positions that are far away from our principles.

G. Marinos (KKE): The joint struggle of the communists against NATO and the imperialist war

Following an invitation of the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain, the KKE and the Communist Party of Turkey attended an event in Madrid on the occasion of the NATO Summit that will take place in Madrid in June 2022, under the tile “Your wars, our dead – no to the imperialist war”.
