KKE: Contribution at the 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in Havana

The 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) began in Havana on Friday and will conclude on Sunday (7–9 August). This year’s Meeting, hosted by the Communist Party of Cuba, is being held under the theme: “We defend and honor the legacy of the Cuban Revolution on the centenary of Fidel’s birth, deepen solidarity with socialist Cuba, strengthen our joint actions and unite our forces for peace and against imperialist aggression".

Wildfires in Greece and Spain: KKE and PCTE hold bourgeois governments responsible

As devastating wildfires continue to ravage Southern Europe, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE) have sharply condemned their respective bourgeois governments, arguing that the repeated destruction is not merely the result of extreme weather conditions but of policies that systematically leave public fire protection services understaffed, underfunded and unprepared.

KKE criticizes Guterres' remarks on Cyprus, rejects any two-state logic

The following statement issued by the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in response to the latest developments in the Cyprus issue, particularly the new initiative launched by UN Secretary-General António Guterres during his recent visit to the island:

KKE demands immediate withdrawal of Greek Patriot missile battery and its personnel from Saudi Arabia

On Saturday, 25 July, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a following statement condemning the reported involvement of a Greek Patriot missile battery in military operations in the Middle East. 
 
Among others, the Communist Party calls for the immediate withdrawal of all Greek military personnel and assets from overseas missions.

KKE: 52 years after the Turkish invasion, Cyprus remains a victim of imperialist designs

In a statement marking the 52nd anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) states:


"The 52nd anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus—this imperialist crime against the Cypriot people, whose scars remain visible to this day—serves as a reminder of what imperialist plans and their murderous alliances, such as NATO, truly mean for the peoples.

Syrian Communist Party honors the memory of its long-time leader Ammar Bakdash

On the first anniversary of the death (13 July 2025) of communist internationalist leader Ammar Bakdash, General Secretary of the Syrian Communist Party, the Party held a commemorative event abroad to honor his memory, the 902 portal reported

Addressing the event, Khaled Bakdash, member of the Central Committee and son of Ammar Bakdash, stated among other things: "To me, he was a father. But before and beyond that, he was a comrade who taught me—through his actions before his words—that communism is not merely a political affiliation, but a moral and human commitment to the workers, the peasants and all working people, to everyone who suffers injustice and exploitation."

KKE's contribution at the International Meeting against NATO in Istanbul

A delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), comprising Yannis Protoulis, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the KKE, and Aris Evangelidis, member of the Central Committee of the KKE, visited Istanbul, where, an International Meeting of Communist Parties from NATO member states was held on Saturday, 4 July. 
 
The meeting was organized by the Communist Party of Turkey ahead of the imperialist alliance’s summit in Ankara.

Greece: Thousands of young communists pay tribute to the Democratic Army's 80th anniversary

Thousands of young communists from across Greece concluded the 35th Anti-Imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) on Sunday with a mass political rally in the northern city of Florina, marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Army of Greece (DSE).  The five-day camp, held in the historic Vitsi mountain range from 1 to 5 July, combined political education, historical remembrance, cultural activities and anti-imperialist action, reaffirming the continuity of the communist movement's revolutionary traditions.

Outrageous! Communist Party of Slovakia punished for its 100th anniversary campaign

A Slovak court has upheld penalties against the Communist Party of Slovakia (KSS) and members of its leadership over a campaign commemorating the party's 100th anniversary, in a ruling that has sparked strong condemnation from communist parties abroad.

The case dates back to 2021, when the KSS marked the centenary of its foundation with a nationwide campaign featuring commemorative posters bearing the hammer and sickle and the slogan "Without socialism, it will not work."

KKE MEPs: No to the ban of the Soviet and the anti-fascist symbols in Germany and the Baltic states

The  Europarliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has highlighted the unacceptable ban in Germany and the Baltic states on Soviet and anti-fascist symbols, with which people around the world commemorate May 9, the day of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory, through a question submitted to the European Commission by the KKE MEP, Kostas Papadakis.

Authorities in Germany, as well as in the Baltic states, banned the “display” and posting of Soviet and anti-fascist symbols during the celebrations on May 9, the Day of the Great Anti-Fascist Victory of the Peoples.

Secretary Koutsoumbas from Piraeus: “The KKE is the real opponent of capital’s policies”

The heart of the 52nd Festival of KNE–“Odigitis” beat strongly in the working-class neighbourhoods of Piraeus. Its political and cultural events culminated on Saturday 21 June in a large political rally addressed by the General Secretary of the KKE Central Committee, Dimitris Koutsoumbas. It was a rally marked by special energy, determination, and mass participation.

Among other things, the GS of the CC of the KKE noted in his speech that “today, all developments make it clear that the gap is widening between the potential that exists to radically improve our lives and the way we actually live under the current exploitative system.

Palestinian Authority and Communist Party of Greece condemn Israel’s deportation of Greek trade unionists

Israeli occupation authorities denied entry to a Greek trade union delegation on Sunday after detaining and interrogating its members for several hours at Tel Aviv Airport, according to statements issued by Palestinian organizations and officials.

The delegation had been invited by the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions to participate in a solidarity visit with the Palestinian labor movement. However, despite the official invitation, Israeli authorities prevented the delegation from entering Palestine and ultimately deported its members.

No Greek armed forces mission to the Strait of Hormuz

Before the fragile agreement between the US and Iran has even been signed, the government is already rushing to assert its presence by deploying naval vessels to the Strait of Hormuz. Whatever pretext may be used to justify this new overseas mission, and regardless of the timeframe envisaged, one fact cannot be denied: this is a mission into the lion’s den, serving interests that are alien to those of the Greek people.

KKE marks Fidel Castro's centenary with mass rally in support of Cuba

A massive political rally organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in the western Athens district of Peristeri sent a clear internationalist message on Monday evening: "Hands off Cuba! Cuba is not alone."

The event, organized by the KKE's Attica Party Organization under the slogan "100 Years Since the Birth of Fidel Castro – We Strengthen Solidarity with Cuba for a World Without Wars and Exploitation, for Socialism", gathered large numbers of workers, youth and supporters who filled the square in front of Peristeri City Hall.

KKE blasts Mitsotakis' government over Ukrainian drone mission in Greek waters

The discovery of a Ukrainian naval drone carrying hundreds of kilograms of explosives off the coast of the Greek island of Lefkada has sparked political controversy in Greece and renewed concerns over the country's growing involvement in the NATO-backed imperialist war in Ukraine.

According to revelations published by Rizospastis, Organ of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), the drone had reportedly been assigned to strike a Russian Navy vessel escorting a commercial ship linked to Russia's so-called "shadow fleet."

KKE reaffirms solidarity with Italian communists at Fronte Comunista congress

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) participated in the 2nd Congress of Fronte Comunista (Communist Front), held in Italy on 22–23 May, which took place in a militant and optimistic atmosphere centered on the struggle to build a revolutionary party, strengthen class struggle and advance the cause of socialism.

Delegates from across Italy reviewed the party's experience in political and organizational work, discussing efforts to strengthen communist organization in a country where the communist movement continues to face the heavy consequences of opportunism and Eurocommunism.

KKE slams Tsipras’ new party as recycled, bankrupt social democracy

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has launched a sharp attack against the newly announced political party of former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, denouncing it as an attempt to recycle bankrupt social-democratic illusions and construct a new pillar for the stabilization of the bourgeois political system in Greece.

The new party, officially presented on Tuesday, May 26, in Athens under the name Hellenic Left Alignment (ELAS), is being promoted as a “progressive” force capable of reshaping the Greek center-left.

KKE condemns arrest of CPI(M) General Secretary and Party leaders: "Hands Off Indian Communists"

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has demanded the immediate release of the General Secretary and other leaders and members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), condemning the repression unleashed by the Indian authorities against communist militants and protesters.

In a statement issued by the International Relations Section of the KKE Central Committee, the party denounced the arrests and police violence targeting cadres of the CPI(M), stressing that such measures are aimed at intimidating the workers’ and popular movement in India and suppressing political struggle against anti-people policies.
