KKE leader Koutsoumbas meets Palestinian Foreign Minister, reiterates unwavering solidarity

Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), reaffirmed the party’s steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people during a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Palestinian Authority, Varsen Aghapekian Sahin.

The meeting took place at the Embassy of Palestine in Athens and was attended by KKE representatives, including Politburo Member and MP Giorgos Marinos as well as Elias Nasir from the Party’s International Relations Section.

“On the island of death, the Communists never bowed”: The KKE pays tribute to Gyaros fighters

On Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) held a powerful and deeply symbolic memorial on the island of Gyaros, known as the “island of death,” where thousands of communists and leftists were imprisoned, tortured, and martyred for their political convictions. 
 
The visit served both as a tribute to those who endured unimaginable suffering and as a reaffirmation of the living continuity of their struggle.

Communist Party of Greece: The Central Committee has published its Theses for the 22nd Party Congress

The newspaper Rizospastis, the organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), has published the Theses of the Central Committee for the 22nd Congress.

These include the Party’s assessments of developments in the world and the country, as well as a review of the Party’s activities and political tasks for the period leading up to the 23rd Congress.

KKE demands the immediate release of Greek flotilla activists detained by Israeli forces

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has intensified its actions following the Israeli military’s raid on the Global Sumud Flotilla", a humanitarian mission carrying aid to the besieged people of Gaza. 

Among those detained are 27 Greek activists, including one Greek Parliament member, prompting urgent calls from the party for their immediate release and safe return to Greece.

KKE and Vietnam reaffirm commitment to peoples struggles and internationalist solidarity

In a meeting marked by internationalist solidarity and a combative spirit, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, welcomed on Wednesday at the KKE headquarters in Perissos, Athens, a delegation of the National Assembly of Vietnam, headed by Vice-Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai. 

According to 902 portal, the meeting was also attended by the Vietnamese ambassador to Athens, Pham Thi Thu Huong, as well as the KKE cadres Giorgos Marinos, MP and Politburo member, MEP Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos and Nikos Seretakis, member of the International Relations Section of the Central Committee. 
 

KKE condemns the assault of the Israeli Army on Global Sumud Flotilla

In a statement  concerning the attack by Israeli armed forces on “Global Sumud Flotilla,” the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) emphasizes the following:

“The KKE condemns the attack by the Israeli armed forces on the flotilla ‘Global Sumud Flotilla,’ among which is the ship ‘Oxygono’ (Oxygen) of the Greek mission, whose aim is to transport humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza.

KKE protests at Polish Embassy in Greece: “Hands Off the Communists in Poland”!

On September 29, 2025, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing KNE staged a protest outside the Polish Embassy in Athens, condemning the “unacceptable and dangerous” anti-communist prosecution against the Communist Party of Poland (KPP).

“The Spark Will Become a Fire”: KNE Festival in Athens Draws Mass Crowds, Sends Message of Struggle

Under a sky lit by flares and smoke, the 51st KNE-Odigitis Festival unfolded in Athens' Tritsis Park, drawing tens of thousands of young people and workers. 

The park transformed into a crimson citadel of defiance, echoing the Festival’s resounding slogan: “The spark will become a fire — with KKE strong, steadfast in every trial, ready at the call of History, for socialism.” For four days, Tritsis Park became a living “red city.” KNE’s organizations from every region marched in with banners, chants, and raised fists.

Palestinian and Israeli Young Communists Unite at KNE Festival: Against War and Occupation

At the 51st KNE–Odigitis Festival, the annual gathering of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in Athens, the event “With Palestine Toward Freedom” became a powerful declaration of internationalist solidarity. 

It was not simply a cultural tribute but a militant denunciation of war, genocide, and imperialism, affirming that true solidarity means exposing and confronting the real guilty parties: the imperialist powers, their governments, and the system of exploitation that sustains them.

“Stop the Genocide”: Giant Banners of the KKE in the Acropolis against the war in Gaza

Early this morning (19/9), members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing (KNE) staged a protest at the Acropolis—one of the world’s most iconic monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site—unfurling large banners demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza. 

The KKE and KNE members unfurled massive banners in Greek and English calling to “Stop the genocide”, “No cooperation with the murderous Israeli state” and demanding “Freedom for Palestine.” Hundreds of participants gathered with red flags, turning the historic site into a stage for global solidarity.

The 22nd Congress of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) to be held on 29-31 January 2026

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has announced that its 22nd Congress will be held from 29–31 January 2026 in Athens under the slogan: “Strong KKE, stable in every trial, ready for History’s call to Socialism.”

According to 902 portal, preparations will begin in October, when the Central Committee publishes its Congress Positions in the party newspaper Rizospastis. A pre-Congress debate will follow, involving both internal party structures and the youth wing (KNE), as well as public discussion through party publications.
 

KKE General Secretary: The danger of a generalized imperialist war is growing

Political speeches, discussions, and concerts continue throughout the country as part of the 51st Festival of KNE -“Odigitis”. Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), attended the events of the 51st Festival of KNE -“Odigitis” in Livadia, and made the following statement:

“We are in a very difficult phase as a people and as a country. We need to be as ready and mobilized as possible, because the government is constantly introducing new anti-labour and anti-people measures, starting with this monstrosity of a law that allows a 13-hour working day that will exhaust the people and workers.

In a speech yesterday, 11/9, at the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Dimitris Koutsoumbas, stressed that a truly new productive model is only possible through the radically different path of development proposed by the KKE.

"And this is the road of abolishing capitalist ownership and voracious profit. It is the road of workers' power, of a people's government, of socialism," he said.

KKE: Using the “multi-polar world” to whitewash capitalism

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit meeting was used to foster new illusions among the peoples. Certain forces see imperialism merely as the “empire” of the USA and on this basis they salute the promotion of new emerging capitalist powers in global affairs, such as the emergence of new inter-state unions (BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Collective Security Treaty Organization, ALBA etc.), which are formed by capitalist states, with an economic–political and military content.

Communist Parties of Greece (KKE) and Turkey (TKP) to commemorate the centenary of Mikis Theodorakis with concerts in Chios and Izmir

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) are commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Mikis Theodorakis by organizing two concerts in Greece and Turkey, one in Chios (the composer's birthplace) and another in Izmir. 

According to 902 portal, concerts have been scheduled on Friday 19 and Sunday 21 September 2025 in Chios and Karciyaka, Izmir respectively.

More than 30 Communist and Antiimperialist Youths to participate at the 51st KNE Festival in Athens

More than 30 Communist Youths and Anti-imperialist Organizations are going to participate at the 51st KNE-Odigitis Festival organized by the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) on 24-27 September 2025 in Athens. 

Like every year, KNE-Odigitis Festival will host the “International City” (Diethnoupolis) at Tritsis Park, where delegations from several Youth organizations from across the world will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and experience from the struggle, as well as the promote and coordinate their joint fight.

KKE strongly denounces U.S decision to ban Palestinian Authority officials from entering the country

KKE: Condolences to the Algerian Party for Democracy and Socialism for the death of Zoheir Bessa

The Algerian Party for Democracy and Socialism (Parti Algérien Pour la Démocratie et le Socialisme - PADS) issued a statement on Thursday 28 August 2025 announcing the death of its long-time cadre, Zoheir Bessa (Bessa Ibnou Zahir), who died in France following a long battle with illness. 

Born in 1947, Zoheir Bessa was an economist and a journalist, a founding member of PADS and director of Alger Républicain newspaper.
