Communist Party of Mexico condemns El Salvador's military intervention in Haiti

The Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) has strongly condemned the decision of Bukele's government to expand El Salvador's military deployment in Haiti, denouncing the move as another act of imperialist interference against the Haitian people.

In a statement published on November 3, the PCM criticized plans to send an additional 2,000 Salvadoran troops, accompanied by armed helicopters and armored vehicles, to Haiti.

According to the party, the deployment is aimed at securing command of the UN-authorized Gang Suppression Force, established in 2025 to succeed the Multinational Security Support Mission launched in 2023.

The Mexican communists stressed that Haiti has endured foreign military intervention, expanding criminal organizations and covert operations for decades, particularly since 2004, amid imperialist competition for control of the country.

The PCM accused El Salvador's ruling bourgeoisie of seeking a role in this struggle as a junior partner of US imperialism, attempting to export Bukele's model of militarized public security, widespread human rights violations and attacks on democratic principles. Expressing its solidarity with Haiti's working class and popular sectors, the party reaffirmed its opposition to imperialist aggression and interference in the country's affairs.

“Workers of all countries, unite!” the statement concluded.
