Communist Workers’ Platform USA: In Response to ICE Murderers

When Renee Nicole Good was murdered in cold blood by ICE, the country responded in kind with strong mobilizations, uniting various organizations as conditions in the US continue to spiral. The CWPUSA was no different in this, mobilizing forces across locations. The Louisville Local Committee demonstrated at a protest in honor of Renee Nicole Good and against ICE's continued terror campaign on the working class.

The mythomaniac Marco Rubio

Marco Rubio, an American of Cuban descent and Secretary of State of the United States, has been characterized throughout his political career by a lack of ethics, corruption scandals, extreme mythomania, far-right positions, and his unhealthy obsession with overthrowing progressive and sovereign nations in Latin America, mainly Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, as well as the current governments of Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico.

Under Imperialism, there is no “International Law”

By Nikos Mottas

The widespread claim that recent imperialist bluntness, epitomized by the Trump doctrine, has “destroyed international law” rests on a false premise: that such a law ever existed as a binding, neutral framework above imperialism.

From a Marxist-Leninist standpoint, this belief is not an error of detail but a fundamental ideological illusion. Imperialism has never been restrained by international law. On the contrary, what is called “international law” has always been a secondary product of imperialist relations, tolerated only insofar as it served monopoly interests and discarded whenever it ceased to do so.

KKE: The EU-Mercosur Agreement serves monopolies, not farmers or food security

In a comment on the EU–Mercosur agreement, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) states the following:

“The approval of the ‘free trade’ agreement between the EU and the Mercosur countries by the New Democracy government constitutes yet another hostile act against small and struggling farmers, livestock breeders, beekeepers, and fishers—at a time when they are waging a heroic struggle at the roadblocks for their very survival.

The Communist Party of Turkey on the bloodbath in Syria's Aleppo: "This is what you created, it's yours!"

Aleppo has once again become the scene of a brutal bloodbath. Clashes between forces of the jihadist Syrian government and Kurdish fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have engulfed civilian neighborhoods, leaving destruction, displacement, and fear in their wake.

In a statement (read here in Turkish), the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), stresses out:

THIS IS THE PHOTO YOU CREATED — BE PROUD OF IT!

The Farce Of the “Restoration of Democracy” in Venezuela

The absurdities used by the government to justify US imperialist intervention in Venezuela are endless. Government officials, without even blushing, claim that “anyone who disagrees with US actions is siding with the dictator Maduro”.

Walking the same path as the representatives of the right-wing ruling party, New Democracy (ND), are figures from other bourgeois, social-democratic forces as well. For example, the former prime minister and former leader of the “left-wing” SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, in his statement on Venezuela, did not hesitate to adopt one of the pretexts of US intervention, that of “democracy”, remarking that it “is also being tested in Venezuela”.

Kazakhstan's President promises to... "end communism", attacks social rights

In a new anti-communist political statement this week, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, declared a sweeping overhaul of the country’s social benefits system and openly denounced the existence of broad, publicly funded social provisions as tantamount to... “victorious communism” that must end.

In a televised address, Tokayev claimed that Kazakhstan’s free healthcare, wide range of benefits, and state social spending have provoked envy among neighboring states and led to “massive parasitism” by recipients of state support.

Joint Statement by Communist and Workers’ Parties

Down with the Imperialist boot in Venezuela and Latin America!

The undersigned Communist and Workers’ Parties strongly condemn the criminal bombings carried out by the United States against the city of Caracas and other areas of Venezuela in the early hours of 3 January. 15 Times Fidel Castro Blasted U.S Imperialism

By Nikos Mottas

When U.S President Donald Trump openly threatens Cuba and Latin America—reviving the language of siege, punishment, and imperial entitlement—he is not improvising. He is speaking the native tongue of U.S. imperialism. What appears today as vulgar bravado is, in fact, the unfiltered expression of a system that has always treated the region as a backyard, its peoples as expendable, and sovereignty as a privilege granted only to obedient regimes.

U.S. intervention in Venezuela: A link in the chain of rivalries for primacy in the global imperialist system

Article published in "Rizospastis", Organ of the CC of the KKE, 5 January 2026:

The U.S. intervention in Venezuela constitutes the culmination of a months-long escalation of U.S. aggression against the country and, more broadly, across the entire “theatre” of Latin and Central America.

The intensifying U.S.–China rivalry for primacy within the international imperialist system, the strategic importance of Latin America as a trade corridor and repository of critical raw materials, as well as control over Venezuela as a country endowed with vast natural resources, are the real causes of the intervention—behind the pretexts of “combating drug trafficking” and “restoring democracy.”

SolidNet: Communist and Workers’ Parties on the US imperialist military intervention in Venezuela

In response to developments concerning the U.S. imperialist military intervention against Venezuela, Communist and Workers’ Parties from across the world issued a series of statements, which were collected and published by SolidNet, the international network of Communist and Workers’ Parties.

The material presented brings together these statements as they were submitted, providing a consolidated record of reactions and positions expressed by the participating organisations.

Donald Trump, Imperialism’s Gangster-in-Chief

By Nikos Mottas

President Donald Trump did not “go too far” in Venezuela. He acted exactly as the system that produced him demands.

Acting on the crude but deeply rooted imperialist doctrine that power itself is legitimacy, he authorized a military assault and proclaimed the “arrest” of Venezuela’s president — an act that, stripped of euphemisms, amounts to the kidnapping of a sitting head of state.

KKE: Mitsotakis’ statement on the US intervention in Venezuela is cynical, vile, and disgraceful

"Mitsotakis’ statement on the imperialist intervention of the United States in Venezuela is a cynical, vile, and disgraceful intervention for the Greek people, one that surpasses even Trump’s own statements.

20+ reasons why Socialism-Communism is relevant and necessary in 2026

By Nikos Mottas

As 2026 begins, the world confirms what the communist movement has long understood: capitalism is not merely experiencing turbulence — it has reached the limits of what it can offer humanity. A system once celebrated for technological progress now turns innovation into surveillance and exploitation.

It multiplies wealth at the top while condemning the majority to insecurity.  It transforms entire regions into war zones — not for freedom, but for markets, energy routes and geopolitical dominance. It even pushes the planet itself toward irreversible destruction in the name of quarterly profits.

Russia: "Left Front" leader Sergei Udaltsov sentenced to six years in prison

On 25 December 2025, a military court in Moscow sentenced Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the "Left Front" movement, to six years in prison on charges of “supporting terrorism.”

His so-called crime consisted solely of an article he published in 2023, where he condemned the arrest of members of the Marxist Circle in Ufa and stated that the accusations of terrorism against them were unfounded. For expressing solidarity and voicing a political opinion, Udaltsov is now being punished with years behind bars.

The fall of the USSR was a tragedy for humanity, but not the end of history

By Nikos Mottas

On 26 December 1991, when the red flag was lowered from the Kremlin for the last time, the world did not merely witness the dissolution of a state. It witnessed the victory of counterrevolution—the temporary triumph of capitalism over the most advanced historical attempt to abolish exploitation and class rule. The fall of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics was not the end of an experiment that had “failed,” as bourgeois ideology insists. It was one of the greatest tragedies in human history precisely because it interrupted a process that had transformed the lives of hundreds of millions and reshaped the global balance of class forces.

10 reasons why Stalin is at the heart of anti-communist propaganda

By Nikos Mottas

No political figure of the twentieth century has been attacked with such persistence, intensity, and ideological unanimity as Joseph Stalin. From conservative anticommunism to liberal moralism and large parts of the so-called “democratic”  left and various anti-Stalinist currents (Trotskyists, Eurocommunists, and related tendencies), hostility to Stalin functions as a shared point of convergence. This is not the result of historical curiosity or ethical sensitivity. It is a political necessity.

Stalin is targeted not primarily for what he did, but for what he represents: the most advanced historical challenge ever posed to capitalism and imperialism.

The Communist Party as the organizer and leader of the people’s struggle for the cause of workers’ power in the 21st century

By Dimitris Koutsoumbas

On the basis of our world view and our constitutional principles, the Communist Party is the Party of the working class, its conscious and organized ideological and political vanguard, its supreme form of organization.

It is a revolutionary organization of like-minded volunteers and fights for the overthrow of capitalism and the building of the socialist–communist society, in which all exploitation of man by man and all forms of private ownership of the means of production will be abolished and a higher standard of living and rights for the people, equality of opportunities and rights, all-round social progress will be guaranteed.

Communist Party of Venezuela condemns imperialist offensive and defends national sovereignty

Statement by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Venezuela (elected by the 16th National Congress, Nov. 2022):

The recent statements by US President Donald Trump fully confirm the warnings made by the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV): Washington’s aggression against Venezuela and the Caribbean is not a response to a supposed fight against drug trafficking or the defense of democracy, but rather part of an imperialist offensive of recolonization aimed at appropriating our nation’s natural resources, territories, and strategic assets.

When the Left manages capitalism, the far right takes power: Lessons from Latin America

By Nikos Mottas

Chile’s presidential election marks a clear political reversal. José Antonio Kast, a figure of the hard right, has been elected president, bringing the far right back to the country’s leadership just three years after the centre-left government of Gabriel Boric took office.

The result is not simply a conservative swing; it reflects a deeper political disappointment and a growing sense that the previous cycle of “progressive” governance failed to deliver real change.

Communist-backed public sector workers win historic victory in Greece

Democratic Militant Cooperation  (DAS) — the trade union faction affiliated with the All-Workers Militant Front  (PAME) and rooted in the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) — emerged as the leading force at the 39th Congress of ADEDY, the Confederation of Public Sector Workers. This result marks an unprecedented historic shift within Greece’s largest public sector union federation, sending a powerful message of working-class resistance and unity against pro-monopoly policies, austerity, and the dominance of pro‑government union currents.

KKE: On the new National Security Strategy of the USA

On the new National Security Strategy of the USA

The National Security Strategy of the USA, released last week, signals an intensification of competition and an escalation of wars across the globe, further fuelling the conflict with China for supremacy in the international imperialist system.

As the document states, “We want to recruit, train, equip, and field the world’s most powerful, lethal, and technologically advanced military to protect our interests,” as well as “We want to halt and reverse the ongoing damage that foreign actors inflict on the American economy.”

German bank closes Communist Party (DKP) accounts over solidarity with Cuba!

Germany is witnessing a sharpening campaign of institutional anti-communism. Only days after several German states advanced plans to rename streets honoring Lenin and other revolutionary figures, another incident confirms the trajectory. The GLS Bank has announced it will terminate all accounts of the German Communist Party (DKP) and several of its organizations by 31 December 2025, in what can only be understood as a politically driven act.

Oscar Figuera: A political proposal is needed that rejects foreign intervention and Maduro’s continuity

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) Oscar Figuera argues that a political option different from those led by Nicolás Maduro, on the one hand, and María Corina Machado, on the other, must be built to give the country possibilities for development with respect for its sovereignty.

As a member of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), he says that respect for human, political, and social rights should not be sacrificed in the name of defending national sovereignty.

German state's plan to rename streets honouring Lenin is an assault on socialist history

In recent days, a fresh wave of reactionary anti-communist agitation has swept through the Federal Republic of Germany. In the name of celebrating the 35th anniversary of capitalist German “unity,” representatives of the state apparatus are pushing to erase the names of Vladimir Lenin and other socialist heroes from public spaces.

At the center of this offensive stands Evelyn Zupke, the Federal Commissioner for the so-called "Victims of the SED (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands) Dictatorship".

The Kurdish nationalist movement’s anti-communism

By Cansu Oba

A recent article published by one of the Kurdish nationalist movement’s media outlets has provided an opportunity to revisit certain aspects of the movement’s class character and ideological foundations.

In reality, this stance is not new. Throughout Abdullah Öcalan’s years in prison, he has repeatedly produced statements and writings that target socialist experiences and the founders of scientific socialism. These have for some time been highlighted in the movement’s own media.
