KKE strongly condemns US military aggression on Venezuela: "The people of Venezuela will prevail!"

In a statement issued today, Saturday 3 January 2026, by the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) regarding the U.S. attack on Venezuela, it states:

“The United States is shedding blood in Venezuela as well. The people of Venezuela will prevail!

The KKE unequivocally condemns the military attack launched at dawn by the United States against Venezuela and its people. 

The imperialist intervention of the U.S. has as its real objective the seizure of the country’s energy wealth and the alignment of the region with its economic and geopolitical interests, against its rivals, Russia and China, by overthrowing the Maduro government. 

The KKE rejects the hollow pretexts and the hypocrisy of the U.S. government, which invokes the fight against drug trafficking in order to justify this new crime. No one forgets that during the 20-year U.S. occupation, Afghanistan was transformed into the world’s largest producer and exporter of narcotics.

The KKE expresses its unwavering solidarity with the people of Venezuela and their just struggle against imperialist intervention in their homeland. It is the people of Venezuela who can determine developments in their country in their own interests and deliver a decisive response to U.S. imperialism.

The KKE calls upon the Greek people to mass-condemn this new imperialist intervention against Venezuela and to express their solidarity with its people".
