Ambassador Lang, in Turkey at the invitation of academic institutions and youth organizations to speak on themes of “freedom” and "European values", found himself confronted not with passive observers but with an organized and militant display of international proletarian solidarity.
This demonstration was held in response to the recent decision by the Polish Constitutional Tribunal on December 3, which declared the Communist Party of Poland incompatible with the Constitution and effectively paved the way for its dissolution. While the tribunal claims this action is justified on the basis that the party promotes so-called “totalitarian practices”, opponents correctly note the political motivations behind this judgment and its embedment within a wider wave of anti-communist policy in Europe.
In their statement, TKG activists emphasized the hypocrisy of the Polish state — and of certain European Union institutions more broadly — which speak in the name of “freedom” and democratic rights abroad while simultaneously endorsing or tolerating harsh restrictions on communist organization and expression at home. The protesters categorically rejected this double standard, stating that they would not tolerate freedom-preaching emissaries moving unchallenged while communist parties are banned and persecuted elsewhere.
Kendi ülkesinde komünizme yasak getirip Türkiye’de gençlere “özgürlükçü Avrupa” masalları anlatan düzenbazlara geçit yok!

This action by the Communist Youth of Turkey, which is the youth wing of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), stands as a powerful affirmation that the struggle for communist rights and international solidarity continues unabated. It sends a clear message that communism cannot be outlawed, silenced, or erased — only strengthened through collective struggle and militant resistance.
