Communist Party of Turkey declares its electoral position: "1 Vote Against Erdoğan, 1 Vote For TKP"

The Communist Party of Turkey has declared that all revolutionary, socialist and communist forces representing Turkey’s anti-imperialist, secular accumulation, who have a clear stand against domestic and foreign capital should enter the 14th of May parliamentary elections under a common electoral alliance. 

 

Our party has intensified its work in this regard and made various contacts.

KKE: Hands Off the Communists of Poland — Protest at the Embassy of Poland in Athens

Communist Party of Greece (KKE): On the train crash in Tempe and the mass protests of the people and the youth

In statement about the 28th February fatal train crash in Tempe which claimed 57 lives and the current massive protests of the people and the youth throughout the country, the Political Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) stresses out:

1. We salute the impressive protests of the workers, the people and particularly the youth, who have been flooding the streets of cities and villages all over Greece. The mass strike rallies, the actions in workplaces, the multifaceted moving events staged by university and school students together with parents and teachers, the demonstrations are a new, hopeful element amidst the grief and anger caused by the tragedy in Tempe.

Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking on Capitalism

Marx Memorial Library marks 90th anniversary

It has been characterized as an oasis of knowledge, education, learning, ideas, history and memory for the working class movement in the heart of London. 

 

This year marks the 90th anniversary since the foundation of the Marx Memorial Library and Workers School (MML) which was founded in 1933, on the 50 years since Karl Marx's death, as "a fitting memorial in the form of a centre of working class education to the greatest thinker and revolutionist of all time, in the city where he lived and worked for the greater part of his adult life".

140 years have been passed since the day when "the greatest living thinker ceased to think". It was the 14th of March 1883 when Karl Marx, the greatest of modern-era philosophers, died peacefully at his home in London. Three days later, during his burial at Highgate Cemetery, his close companion Friedrich Engels was saying: "An immeasurable loss has been sustained both by the militant proletariat of Europe and America, and by historical science, in the death of this man. The gap that has been left by the departure of this mighty spirit will soon enough make itself felt."  

France vs Macron: The struggle against the pension reform from a communist perspective

On March 7, millions of people took to the streets throughout France participating in a nationwide strike against the anti-popular pension reform by Emmanuel Macrons' government that plans to increase the retirement age from 62 to 64 years old. 

 

That was the sixth strike against the reform this year, following large mobilizations in January and February. Over 260 demonstrations were reported in the country, with the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) talking about 700,000 protesters in Paris.

On March 5, 1953, 70 years ago, Joseph Vissarionovich Dzughasvilli, the man whose leadership influenced the course of the 20th century like very few others, left his last breath at his dacha in Kunchevo.
