General Strike in France - Grève Générale en France: Solidarity from WFTU and PAME

Today, December 5th, thousands of workers across France participate in a nationwide general strike against the anti-people, anti-worker reforms announced by Emmanuel Macron's government. The government's reforms include several blows to the pension system, including rise in retirement age limits and reduce of financial recompensation. 

In a statement, the World Federation of Trade Unions (WFTU) expresses solidarity with the general strike of December 5th. The statement reads:

KKE: "NATO's 70-year course has been marked by imperialist wars, interventions, threats and coups"

On the occasion of NATO Summit in London (3-4 December), the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) issued a statement which was published on 902 portal. 

The statement reads:

"The NATO Summit in London considers the further strengthening of the aggressive planning of the wolf-pack alliance against the people. It accelerates the implementation of the decisions of previous Summits for the creation of ground, air and naval military units, preparing for new imperialist wars. It takes additional steps in the competition with Russia and China. Moreover, the NATO Summit considers the even bigger increase of military spending, while Greece is already paying 4.3 billion per year for (military) equipment intended for NATO needs. 

International Day of Solidarity with Palestinian People: Joint Statement by Communist and Workers' Parties

On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People (29th of November), the undersigned Communist and Workers parties affirm that the key to peace and stability in the Middle East is the end of the Israeli occupation, and the implementation of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of the independent Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the resolution of the refugee issue in accordance with UN Resolution 194.

The 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution was honored in Greece

In an event organized by the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Friendship and Solidarity in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, hundreds of people paid tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina who delivered a greeting speech. 

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by Theano Kapeti, member of the Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Organisation of Central Macedonia of the KKE. Apart from the Cuban Ambassador, speeches were delivered by Nikos Mottas, General Secretary of the Hellenic-Cuban Association of Thessaloniki and Nikos Zokas, Vice President of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (EEDYE). 

Greece: "Hands Off Social Security" — Large demonstrations held in Athens and other cities

"Hands Off Social Security Rights", that was the message that thousands of working men and women, pensioners, self-employed people, students sent during a large demonstration held earlier today in downtown Athens. 

The protests were organized by Trade Unions, Labour Centers and Pensioner's Associations. Among the speakers were Dimos Koumpouris, President of the Pensioner's Federation, Giorgos Stefanakis, President of the Trade Union of Catering-Tourism-Hotels of Attica and Dimitris Vitalis, member of the Federation of Craft Industry Unions of Athens. 

KKE MEP slams EU and US support on Cuban counterrevolutionary José Daniel Ferrer

As 902 portal reported, during an intervention in the Plenary of the European Parliament in Strasburg, the MEP of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) Lefteris Nikolaou-Alavanos denounced the hypocritical stance of the E.U and the U.S. regarding the human rights situation in Cuba. 

More specifically, during the discussion titled "Cuba, the case of  José Daniel Ferrer", the KKE MEP pointed out the following:

Total censorship in Ukraine: "Rabochaya Gazeta" (Workers' Newspaper) has been banned

In a statement issued on November 27, 2019, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine denounces the complete ban of "Rabochaya Gazeta" (Workers' Newspaper) by the Sixth Appeal Administrative Court. 

A month ago, in an authoritarian decision, the Kiev District Court had ordered the ban of the newspaper.

100 years of Mexico's communist movement: Communist Parties attended centenary event in Mexico City

This year marks the centenary of the communist movement in Mexico and the 25th anniversary of the reformation of the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM). On this occasion, PCM organized an international seminar and its 7th Communist Festival which took place on 23-24 November in Mexico City.

The seminar was attended by several Communist Parties from Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia including: Communist Party of El Salvador, Peruvian Communist Party, Partido Vanguardia Popular de Costa Rica, Communist Party USA, Communist Party of Canada, Communist Party of Guatemala, Communist Party of Turkey (TKP). 

Albania earthquake: Communist Party of Greece (KKE) expresses solidarity with Albanian people

In a message to the Communist Party of Albania, the International Relations Department of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) expresses its solidarity to the working class and the people of Albania who are experiencing difficult moments after the recent powerful earthquake. 

As 902 portal reports, the KKE expresses deep sorrow for the many victims, the dead and injured people, as well as the extensive material damages, caused by the recent destructive earthquake.

Workshop event organized by the KKE: "1940-1949: A decade of class struggle's sharpening in Greece"

An interesting workshop event under the title "1940-1949: A decade of class struggle's sharpening in Greece" took place on Saturday 23 November at the headquarters of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Athens. 

The event, which was organized by the Attica Party Organisation, was attended by hundreds of members and friends of the KKE, workers, students, pensioners. 

D. Koutsoumbas: "Solidarity to the heroic people of Cuba who fight to defend their homeland"

Three years have passed since the death of Fidel Castro on November 25, 2016. On this occasion, the memory and political legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution was honored on Saturday afternoon, during an event organized by "New Star cinema" in Athens, Greece.

Speeches about the life and polical activity of Fidel were delivered by the Ambassador of Cuba in Greece Zelmys Maria Dominguez Cortina and the Professor of Contemporary History at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Giorgos Margaritis. 

Brazil's fascist President Bolsonaro launches new party "against communism"

The far-right President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro launched on Thursday a new political party called "Alliance for Brazil", which will put an emphasis on fighting communism. 

The announcement for the new party took place in Brasilia, with a strong appeal to extreme conservatism, including "respect for God and religion", the defense to carry firearms for the protection of private property, the rejection of globalization and the fight against socialism-communism. 

NATO propaganda infiltrates Greek schools — Imperialist brainwashing targets schoolchildren

Through the project "#WeAreNATO", which was launched in 2017, the imperialist North Atlantic Treaty Organization tries to spread its propaganda to the young generation, especially in universities and schools. A new incident in northern Greece comes to verify that NATO's propaganda infiltrates schools under the pretext of "educational programmes". 

The most recent case is the 3rd Primary School of Pylea-Chortiatis Municipality in Thessaloniki, Greece's second largest city, which was invited by NATO to visit the organization's Joint Forces Command in Naples, Italy.
