SYRIZA's shameless anti-communism strikes again

These days, SYRIZA's youth organization organizes in Athens its annual festival called “Sputnik”. What do social democrats have to do with a name that is so closely related with the Soviet Union? 

The answer can be found in the attempt of SYRIZA to manipulate working class people by using for its festival a name that symbolizes one of socialism's great achievements, the conquest of space.

Thousands joined PAME rally in Thessaloniki, sending powerful message to Mitsotakis' government

Thousands of workers, self-employed people, farmers, pensioners, young men and women participated on Saturday evening in a massive rally organized by the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) and Trade Unions on the occasion of the inauguration of the 86th Thessaloniki International Fair by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Under the slogan "Organization and Struggle for contemporary rights" a large number of protesters from the city of Thessaloniki as well as from other regions of northern Greece sent a militant message to New Democracy (ND) conservative government.

Greece: The KKE at the side of workers and students

On 8/9, a delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was once again at the side of the striking workers of “Malamatina”, a large wine production company in Thessaloniki, who continue their multi-day struggle. The delegation of the KKE conveyed the message that the KKE will continue to support their just struggle with all its might.

The strikers demand the revocation of 15 dismissals and the signing of a Collective Labour Agreement.

Young Communist League on the death of Elizabeth II

The Central Committee of the Young Communist League of Britain has issued the following statement in response to the death of Elizabeth Windsor, aka Queen Elizabeth II: 

The death of Elizabeth Windsor highlights to our generation and working people across Britain that the abolition of the monarchy remains a pressing and important issue.  

It is fundamentally clear, now more than ever, that Britain must become a modern republic. A tiny interbreeding sect of a decaying aristocracy cannot and will never reflect the interests of working people in Britain.

KKE MEPs: The European Union encourages and promotes the destruction of Soviet WWII monuments

The MEPs of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounced the destruction of monuments of the great Anti-fascist Victory of the Peoples, which is taking place with the encouragement of the EU, by submitting a Question to the European Commission.

They note that “After the dissolution of the USSR, a plan of destruction and vandalism of monuments commemorating the Great Anti-fascist Victory of the Peoples is being implemented in several EU member states. These provocative actions have multiplied since the imperialist conflict in Ukraine. 

Portugal: Thousands attended the Communist Party's "Avante! Festival"

For another year, the annual festival of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), known as "Avante! Festival" (Festa do Avante) became an attraction for thousands of people who gathered at Quinta da Atalaia in Seixal in order to attend the numerous cultural and political events included in the program,

This year's festivities, which took place on 2,3 and 4 September, also included a symphonic concert dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the great Portuguese writer José Saramago.

In them, the leadership of the Communist Party of Venezuela and its Secretary General, Óscar Figuera, are accused of being a “representative of the United States”, among other serious accusations of a similar nature.

We are witnessing for the first time in Europe after the Second World War that people are being prosecuted based solely on their ethnic origin and nationality, European Ministers are calling for the assassination of Putin and the overthrow of the Russian regime, attempts are being made to impose a climate of neo-McCarthyism throughout the continent. How serious a threat do you think democratic rights in the West and world peace are facing as a result of this international climate?

West Bengal: Brutal police attack against Communist Party activists

On August 31st civil disobedience movements were held at all district headquarters in Bengal, India, marking the martyrdom of over 80 people who were killed in the historic food movement in 1959. 

 

In Purba Bardhaman district headquarters, without provocation, the police unleashed first water cannons, then a brutal lathi-charge and teargas on the peaceful protestors who were marching to meet the District Magistrate at his office. 

PSUV government's offensive against the Communist Party of Venezuela continues

This week, Vice President of the PSUV Diosdado Cabello once again lashed out against the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), but this time he went a little further, irresponsibly accusing our Party of receiving financing from one of the former PSUV ministers.

The statements made by this high-ranking governing party leader seek to link the PCV with alleged acts of corruption committed by a former minister of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro’s administrations. They come as part of the plan aimed at forging a false flag that will serve to nationally and internationally justify the intervention and illegalization of the PCV, as well as the violation of the parliamentary immunity of our Deputy and Secretary General Oscar Figuera. 

Gorbachev exposed: "My ambition was to liquidate communism"

Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union, the man who betrayed the dreams and expectations of his own people, has died at 91. His biological death bears little importance. In fact, in the consciousness and hearts of the working class people all over the world Gorbachev had died a long time ago, when he consciously decided to become the gravedigger of the first socialist state in human history, the Soviet Union.
