Commenting on the Prespes Agreement, which has been submitted to the Parliament for ratification, and the disclosure of the U.S. State Department "Integrated Country Strategy" (ICS) for Greece, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas said:
"The recent publication of the "Integrated Report" of the U.S. State Department for Greece, apart from the fact that it brings into mind old dark times, totally confirms the role undertaken by the government of SYRIZA in the promotion of the US-NATO plans.
The Report recognizes, explicitly and cynically, that the Prespes Agreement bears the euroatlantic stamp, that "Greece is a committed partner in
advancing U.S. interests in and beyond Greece", that "the Greek government supports
deepening military cooperation" offering "additional locations
beyond Souda Bay to support U.S. military operations in the region".
It even reaches the point to confess that NGOs and mass media will be employed in order to persuade the Greek people for the necessity of this policy. This is how "progressive" is the policy of the SYRIZA government.
These creepy aspirations of the U.S. policy, which are uncontested neither by the government, nor of course by New Democracy or any other from the organizers of tomorrow's rallies (TN: nationalist rallies on Macedonia name issue scheduled for January 20th) show the necessity for the people to be vigilant and to turn their back to all those who want to make Greece a bastion of the U.S. just for the benefit of the capital's interest".
