KKE on Trump assassination attempt

Former U.S President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was the target of an assassination attempt on Saturday 13 July 2024 at a Pennsylvania rally, days before he was to accept the Republican nomination for a third time. A barrage of gunfire set off panic, and a bloodied Trump, who was shot in the ear, was surrounded by Secret Service and hurried to his SUV as he pumped his fist in a show of defiance. 

In a comment issued on Monday, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) stresses out the following:

KKE and the Communist Party of Cuba reaffirm strong fraternal relations during Koutsoumbas' visit in Havana

The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reaffirmed their strong, fraternal relations during a meeting in Havana, within the framework of the visit paid by KKE General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas on the island. 

More specifically, as Granma reported,  the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, Roberto Morales Ojeda, received on Saturday 13/7 Koutsoumbas and the delegation accompanying him.

Syrian Communist Party denounces the detention of comrade Abdul Rahman Khalil

In a statement, the Central Secretariat of the Syrian Communist Party denounced the arrest of comrade Abdul Rahman Khalil and demands his immediate release:

"On July 10, departments affiliated with the so-called “Self-Administration” in northeast Syria arrested Comrade Abdul Rahman Khalil, the nominated member of the Political Bureau of the Syrian Communist Party and a member of the People’s Assembly (Parliament), due to his participation in the electoral campaign for the People’s Assembly (Parliament). Comrade Abdul Rahman refused to sign a pledge not to participate in this campaign in exchange for his release.

Venezuela: Nicolás Maduro, a cynical candidate

Candidate Nicolás Maduro moves with ease; he goes around the country pointing out what is wrong here and there. He denounces bureaucracy and corruption. Everywhere he goes there are unfinished construction works; he summons ministers and mayors; he shouts and gesticulates. Candidate Nicolás Maduro does not like the management of President Nicolás Maduro, however, he asks for his reelection.

It seems that there were another government that delivers a catastrophic administration and that the candidate Nicolás Maduro disinterestedly offers to solve it because he has nothing to do with that disaster.

In a statement on the NATO Summit to be held from 9 to 11 July in Washington, D.C., the Press Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) notes the following:

“The NATO Summit, which will be held from 9 to11 July 2024, in Washington, D.C., marks a new round of intensification of Euro-Atlantic aggression around the world. In the foreground is the escalation of the imperialist war in Ukraine between the Ukrainian bourgeoisie, which actively supports and is backed by NATO, and capitalist Russia and its own allies, which poses great dangers for the peoples.

Tudeh Party: The manoeuvres of the theocratic regime in Iran and the changes in the guards to save the dictatorship

In a statement concerning the recent Presidential elections in Iran and the victory of Masoud Pezeshkian, the Tudeh Party stresses out:

"The presidential election show, which the ruling regime of Iran was eagerly hoping to turn into a grand endorsement of the theocratic regime, ended with the majority of the nation boycotting it. Even according to the official statistics, in several major cities, including the capital Tehran, voter turnout barely exceeded 30%. According to ISNA, the head of the election office in Tehran province said: "The number of eligible voters for the fourteenth presidential election was 10,199,742, and in this election, on June 25^th, 3,366,264 ballots were used in the capital."

World Federation of Trade Unions

The World Federation of Trade Unions, representing more than 105 million workers who work live, and struggle in 133 countries all over the world, strongly condemns the continuation of military interventions and wars, the accelerated militarization of international relations and confrontational rhetoric, the soaring of the military expenditures, as well as the NATO plans amid the escalating intra-imperialist confrontation.  

Kommunistische Partei - KP: New Communist Party was founded in Germany

The last Congress of the Communist Organisation (Kommunistische Organisation, KO) was held from June 21 to 23, 2024. At this congress the members decided to found the Communist Party (Kommunistische Partei, KP). 

Therefore, we consider this congress to be our 1st Party Construction Congress (a name we adopted for the first two congresses, because they will establish the basic features of the party as such). As a result, we are giving up our previous name and are changing it to Kommunistische Partei (KP).

Koutsoumbas on French Elections: "The regroupment of the movement in France, Greece and across Europe is the only way that can generate hope to the people"

In a statement (here in Greek) concerning the result of the French legislative elections and the electoral victory of the "New Popular Front" (Nouveau Front Populaire), the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Dimitris Koutsoumbas, stresses out:

KKE's General Secretary to visit Cuba on 10-15 July

A delegation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), headed by General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas, will visit Cuba on 10-15 July, following an invitation by Cuba's Communist Party (PCC), Rizospastis reports. 

The visit will include numerous bilateral meetings between the two fraternal parties, including the Union of Young Communists (UJC), the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (Central de Trabajadores de Cuba - CTC) and other bodies of the Cuban people's movement.

Italy: Initiative for the construction of a new, militant Communist Party presented in Rome

U.S Presidential Debate: Trump Gains, Biden Falters, Monopolies Win

In the aftermath of the Presidential debate, President Joe Biden is the main loser against Republican candidate Donald Trump, sparking discussions about potentially changing the Democratic candidate for the upcoming November presidential elections. 

 

The two candidates clashed on issues like abortion, immigration, the conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, and economic management while also engaging in personal attacks. Although polls indicate a close race, Trump currently leads in several swing states that often determine the election outcome.

KKE on French elections: Only the workers-popular movement can stop the rise of the far-right

Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN) party led the first round of France’s parliamentary elections on Sunday, taking it closer to the gates of power than ever before.

After an unusually high turnout, the RN bloc clinched 33.15% of the vote, while the left-wing New Popular Front (NFP) coalition came second with 27.99% and President Emmanuel Macron’s Ensemble alliance slumped to a dismal third with 20.76%, according to final results published by the Interior Ministry on Monday.

Today, Trump is a fascist, Putin is a fascist, Modi is a fascist, Radical Islam is Islamofascism, the House and Senate members who passed the FISA renewal are fascists, Ukraine is a fascist country, political correctness is fascism, anti-Zionists are fascists, Zionists are fascists, and so on….

The 24th International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties to be held in Beirut in October

Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, will host the 24th International Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP), which will take place on 25-27 October 2024. 

 

The decision was taken on Saturday 29 June at the meeting of the Working Group (WG) of IMCWP held in Beirut and attended by 14 Communist and Workers' Parties, including the KKE.

The main theme of the 24th IMCWP, hosted by the Lebanese Communist Party, will be the following:

Hadash blasts Israeli Government's despicable decision to legalize settlements in occupied West Bank

A decision by far-right Israeli government to legalize five occupied West Bank settlements drew widespread criticism on Friday, June 28, from Hadash and the Palestinian Authority (PA), which accused Israel of continuing a policy of “genocide” against the Palestinian people.  

 

The statements came after the security cabinet, at the behest of racist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, announced the steps and a series of punitive moves against the PA.

Sudanese authorities must release now all detained Communist Party members

The state authorities of Sudan have once again resorted to the known practice of persecution against the Sudanese Communist Party (SCP) members and other political dissidents who oppose the war. 

 

This time, alongside other comrades, the military intelligence service proceeded on Monday 24 June to the illegal detention of Amal El Zein, Politburo member of the Sudanese Communist Party, Her whereabouts are currently unknown, while her family and lawyers haven't been permitted to see him.

In the wake of intense demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024 and the consistent, resolute demand for the resignation of President William Ruto, the President has made a belated and insincere about-face, declaring that he shall not consent to the bill and ostensibly acceding to the people's demands. This disingenuous capitulation comes only after Ruto ordered the brutal murder of more than 10 confirmed protesters and unleashed death squads to massacre more innocent lives in Githurai. 

 

KKE Europarliament Group: Remove Cuba from the U.S list of "state-sponsors of terrorism"

The European Parliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the inclusion of Cuba in the U.S State Department list of "state sponsors of terrorism", which was implemented by the Trump administration in 2021 and is still maintained by the Biden administration. More specifically, the statement of the KKE MEPs (here in Greek) reads:

 

"This is an unacceptable and provocative decision that aims to reinforce the heavy consequences of the economic blockade of Cuba by the US and its allies, which poses great obstacles to the economic development of Cuba and prevents the satisfaction of the needs of the Cuban people.
