Plan of Action of the 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties, Izmir, Turkey

The Communist and Workers' Parties participating at the 23rd IMCWP in İzmir, declare their will and determination, until the next meeting, to engage in joint and convergent actions on the following main issues:

  1. Opposing imperialist wars, the arms race, including nuclear weapons, foreign military bases and rejecting all the practices of NATO; in this context, increasing class-based propaganda and mobilization against NATO’s expansion and aggression all over the world, standing against the involvement of NATO and its allies in the war in Ukraine and in Israel’s brutal aggression against the Palestinian people; strengthening the struggle for disengagement from NATO and its dissolution, organizing anti-imperialist, anti-war events on September 21, “World Peace Day”supporting the efforts of the World Peace Council.

The 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties kicks off in Izmir, Turkey

The 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties (IMCWP) begins today in Izmir, Turkey, hosted by the country's Communist Party (TKP). 

The Meeting is held between 20-22 October, under the following subject: "The political and ideological battles to confront capitalists and imperialism. The tasks of communists to inform and mobilize the working class, youth, women, and intellectuals in the struggle against exploitation, oppression, imperialist lies and historical revisionism; for the social and democratic rights of workers and peoples; against militarism and war, for peace and socialism."

The 23rd International Meeting of Communist Parties (IMCWP) to be held in Izmir, Turkey on 20-22 October

Turkey's coastal city of Izmir will be the hosting place of the 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) on October 20-22, 2023.

The decision was taken during the IMCWP Working Group meeting that was held in Istanbul on Saturday 10 June.

The responsibility for organizing and hosting of October's meeting belongs to the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP). It is reminded that Izmir had hosted the 21st IMCWP in October 2019.

Resolution by Communist and Workers' Parties: Down with the blockade! Long live Socialist Cuba!

Resolution to Condemn the Blockade and to Stand in Solidarity with Cuba

The undersigned delegations attending the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties, held in Havana in October 2022 express: 

Our strongest condemnation of the unjust, illegal and inhumane blockade maintained by the government of the United States against Cuba and demand, once again, its immediate and unconditional end. 

We urge the international community to demand that the U.S. government comply with the numerous UN General Assembly Resolutions condemning the blockade and calling for its lifting.

22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties

“Solidarity with Cuba and all the struggling peoples. United we are stronger in the anti-imperialist struggle, together with social and popular movements, in the face of capitalism and its policies, the threat of fascism and war; in defense of peace, the environment, workers' rights, solidarity and socialism”

  1. The 145 representatives of 78 Communist and Workers’ Parties of 60 countries, present at this 22nd IMCWP, held in Havana, Cuba, on October 27-29, 2022, warn about the dangerous situation in which humanity finds itself.
