Kenya communists: "President Ruto, your time is up!"

Statement by the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of Kenya (CPK) on the ongoing developments in the country:

In the wake of intense demonstrations against the Finance Bill 2024 and the consistent, resolute demand for the resignation of President William Ruto, the President has made a belated and insincere about-face, declaring that he shall not consent to the bill and ostensibly acceding to the people's demands. This disingenuous capitulation comes only after Ruto ordered the brutal murder of more than 10 confirmed protesters and unleashed death squads to massacre more innocent lives in Githurai.

Communist Party of Kenya: Statement on King Charles III's Visit and British Colonial Legacy

The Communist Party of Kenya Statement on King Charles III's Visit and British Colonial Legacy

In the looming shadow of King Charles III's visit to our nation, we find ourselves confronted by a stark and unsettling reality. His presence serves as a jarring reminder of an old-world order, a fading relic of redundant and defeated feudal forces that once dominated Europe.

King Charles III embodies a symbol of wanton robbery, echoing the exploitation of the global south.

Kenyan Communist Party member murdered by police

Felix Musili, a member of the Communist Party of Kenya (CPK), was brutally murdered by police forces on January 11th.

More specifically, a statement issued by the CPK stresses out: On January 11, 2023, at about 5 am, three uniformed police officers stormed the home of Felix's parents in Mumbuni, Kitui and took Felix's life with several gunshots. Felix was shot right in front of his parents and siblings. His murder was carried out only a few days after President Ruto appeared on national TV to assure the Kenyans that extra-judicial killings common with every successive regime in Kenya would be a thing of the past.

In an arbitrary move Kenyan police stormed on Wednesday 7 April the headquarters of the Communist Party of Kenya in Nairobi and proceeded to the arrest of party members.

The operation of the police took place without any court warrant.

According to the Communist Party, the police officers were intent on breaking into the strong room where key party records are kept.
