Cuba denounces expulsion of its diplomats from the U.S. as politically motivated

On September 29, 2017, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced the decision to significantly downscale the diplomatic staff of the US embassy in Havana and withdraw all their relatives, claiming that there had been “attacks” perpetrated against US Government officials in Cuba which have harmed their health.
Once again, on October 3, the US Government, in an unwarranted act, decided that 15 officials of the Cuban Embassy in Washington should depart from the United States, claiming that the US had reduced their diplomatic staffing levels in Havana and that the Cuban Government had failed to take all appropriate steps to prevent “attacks” against them.

Catalan referendum: Statement by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE)

On the occasion of the referendum in Catalonia, the Press Office of the CC of the KKE issued the following statement:

"The KKE condemns the barbaric state violence and repression exercised by the spanish government during yesterday's referendum in Catalonia. This policy sharpens nationalist and divisive viewpoints from both sides, while it feeds the intra-bourgeois- strange to workers-people's rights- antagonisms within Spain.

Catalonia Referendum: Statement by the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE) / Comunicado del Secretariado Político del PCPE

Statement by the Political Secretariat of the PCPE.

Following today's events, the PCPE shows its concern for the increase of the repressive escalation in the Catalan conflict. Today the dictatorial nature of the State has been re-established, an element that we Communists have always denounced and for which we have especially warned in recent weeks.

Spain and the Catalan referendum: The working people must not place themselves under false flags

The developments of the last days in Spain consist part of a fierce intra-bourgeois clash about the possibility of Catalonia's secession from the country.

The secessionist trends have been supported by a significant part of the region's bourgeois class, which utilizes the multi-ethnic character of the Spanish state, the existing peculiarities in language, customs and customs, in order to unite petty-bourgeois masses and working class people on the basis of the "right to self-determination" and "democracy". In fact, this strategy puts large numbers of working class people under a "false flag", by promoting the contradiction of  "self-determination" vs "dependence on Spain".

The forgotten holocaust: The 1965-66 massacre against Indonesia's communists

By Nikos Mottas*.

Without any doubt, the WWII Holocaust and the 1915 Armenian genocide consist the two largest mass slaughters of the 20th century. They are crimes which must never be erased from the collective memory of the peoples, no matter how many decades will pass.

However, there are also less known sides of History, the “forgotten” holocausts to which the bourgeois historiography has given little importance, either by downgrading them as insignificant details of world history or by distorting their true dimensions.

A major example of such a “forgotten” holocaust is the mass slaughter of the communists in Indonesia by Suharto's dictatorship during the 1965-66.

The future is here! The future is here, at the 43rd festival of KNE and ODIGITIS, in this beautiful picture of the enlightened future world which all visitors can admire.

The future is here, in the Tritsi park, in the center of the western Attica, which has been transformed into a red city thanks to the volunteer work and will of our KNE’s members and friends.

You can see the future in the faces of the thousands of young people who are determined to fight for a life with modern rights to work, education, life,  sports and culture. That’s the origin of our slogan, “Youth does not bow its head, it attacks and struggles alongside the KKE!”

Dangerous games - Does the US plan to install nuclear warheads in Greece?

On the 20th of September, the daily newspaper "Rizospastis"-organ of the CC of the KKE-on its front page highlighted the continuing suspicious and conspicuous silence of the government in relation to this accusation made by the KKE.

"Rizospastis" denounces the plans to transfer US nuclear weapons to Greece, which it characterizes as "playing with fire". At the same time, it reveals that the coalition government of the "left" party SYRIZA and the allegedly "patriotic" ANEL has agreed to provide upgraded services at the naval-airforce base of Souda, after the recent renewal of the agreement with the USA regarding its use. It is also discussing "hosting" US marines from Incirlik.

Partido Comunista de Mexico: La solidaridad de clase entre los trabajadores es nuestra única opción

Expressing our full solidarity with the working class in Mexico, we publish the following statement made by the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM):

The 12 cartoons censored by the EU Parliament as politically "controversial"

Last week, the EU Parliament rejected 12 caricatures by Greek artists for a Brussels exhibition as “inflammatory” cartoons mocking EU leaders and their policies allegedly go against “European values.”
The exhibition, featuring work from both French and Greek cartoonists, was due to be unveiled at the European Parliament in Brussels on September 25 as part of the year marking 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. However, after evaluating the work for offensive content, Liberal Democrats' MEP Catherine Bearder rejected 12 of the 28 submissions from Greek artists. From their side, organizers denounced it as an act of “violent censorship.”

KKE GS Dimitris Koutsoumbas on Salamina oil spill: Shipowners and the government bear grave responsibility for the environmental disaster

Commenting on the sinking of "Agia Zoni II" tanker, on Saturday, and the subsequent environmental disaster which threatens major beaches in Athens, the Secretary General of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece Dimitris Koutsoumbas said the following:

"The shipwreck in Salamina, with the huge disaster in caused to the enivornment and the people of Attica, mirrors their (the government's) development. From one side, the timeless governmental prattles about Piraeus as "entrance gate" and "international junction" and, on the other side, very old ships, "floatting coffins" for the workers, damaged professionals and absence of elementary state infrastructure for the protection of Public Health and the Environment. The government and the shipowners bear grave responsibiities and this crime must not remain unpunished".

Poland's government tries to distort and rewrite history: Statement by the Communist Party of Poland

Act of barbarity: Polish authorities demolishing
the Red Army monument in Trzcianka.
We condemn the changes of street names around Poland driven by the government, and the increasing number of devastations and liquidations of monuments commemorating heroes of struggle against fascism. Recent example is the dismantling of the Mausoleum of the Red Army in Trzcianka. Changing names of the streets and attacks on monuments of Soviet and Polish soldiers, communist partisans and militants of the workers’ movement are a result of the historical policy imposed by the state authorities. It is being implemented by the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) which is questioning even liberation of Poland in 1944–1945.

KKE: Statement on the dangerous developments in the Korean Peninsula

The Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece issued the following statement regarding the dangerous developments in the Korean Peninsula:

"The KKE expresses its intense concern about the dangerous situation in the Korean Peninsular. The developments reflect the escalation of the economic and military competition and inter-imperialist contradictions in the entire Asia and Pacific region between powerful capitalist states and business interests, at an international and regional level.

It is not the result of choices of the allegedly "crazy" leaders of the USA and North Korea, as is being deliberately cultivated by the mass media in order to conceal the real causes of the confrontation.
