At that time, the working class of Thessaloniki, led by tobacco workers and guided by the KKE, launched major strikes and demonstrations demanding better living conditions, effectively taking control of the city for two days.
The party announced a week of political activities and protests between 4 and 12 July, culminating in a major rally on 5 July against NATO, imperialism and Turkey’s deepening involvement in Euro-Atlantic military plans.
According to an administrative order issued by Berlin police, the restrictions will apply from 8 to 9 May around the Soviet memorials in Treptow, Mitte and Pankow.

In response, a demonstration will take place on Saturday, May 16, in Helsingborg. The rally will assemble at 13:00 at Furutorpsplatsen.
