Article appeared in "Rizospastis", organ of the CC of the KKE, on Wednesday 17 December 2025:

The Central Military Court of the Yekaterinburg District in Russia has concluded the trial of five members of a Marxist study group from the city of Ufa. The defendants had been officially designated as “terrorists” and “extremists” even before the trial began and were placed on the registry of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring).

When the Left manages capitalism, the far right takes power: Lessons from Latin America

By Nikos Mottas

Chile’s presidential election marks a clear political reversal. José Antonio Kast, a figure of the hard right, has been elected president, bringing the far right back to the country’s leadership just three years after the centre-left government of Gabriel Boric took office.

The result is not simply a conservative swing; it reflects a deeper political disappointment and a growing sense that the previous cycle of “progressive” governance failed to deliver real change.

Communist-backed public sector workers win historic victory in Greece

In a landmark development for the labour movement in Greece, the
Democratic Militant Cooperation  (DAS) — the trade union faction affiliated with the All-Workers Militant Front  (PAME) and rooted in the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) — emerged as the leading force at the 39th Congress of ADEDY, the Confederation of Public Sector Workers. This result marks an unprecedented historic shift within Greece’s largest public sector union federation, sending a powerful message of working-class resistance and unity against pro-monopoly policies, austerity, and the dominance of pro‑government union currents.

KKE: On the new National Security Strategy of the USA

On the new National Security Strategy of the USA

The National Security Strategy of the USA, released last week, signals an intensification of competition and an escalation of wars across the globe, further fuelling the conflict with China for supremacy in the international imperialist system.

As the document states, “We want to recruit, train, equip, and field the world’s most powerful, lethal, and technologically advanced military to protect our interests,” as well as “We want to halt and reverse the ongoing damage that foreign actors inflict on the American economy.”

On December 10, 2025, members of the Communist Youth of Turkey (Türkiye Komünist Gençliği, TKG) mounted a resolute protest in Eskişehir against the visit of the Polish Ambassador, Maciej Lang, forcefully reaffirming the irrepressible spirit of communist solidarity and resistance to anti-communist repression.

German bank closes Communist Party (DKP) accounts over solidarity with Cuba!

Germany is witnessing a sharpening campaign of institutional anti-communism. Only days after several German states advanced plans to rename streets honoring Lenin and other revolutionary figures, another incident confirms the trajectory. The GLS Bank has announced it will terminate all accounts of the German Communist Party (DKP) and several of its organizations by 31 December 2025, in what can only be understood as a politically driven act.

Oscar Figuera: A political proposal is needed that rejects foreign intervention and Maduro’s continuity

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) Oscar Figuera argues that a political option different from those led by Nicolás Maduro, on the one hand, and María Corina Machado, on the other, must be built to give the country possibilities for development with respect for its sovereignty.

As a member of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV), he says that respect for human, political, and social rights should not be sacrificed in the name of defending national sovereignty.

German state's plan to rename streets honouring Lenin is an assault on socialist history

In recent days, a fresh wave of reactionary anti-communist agitation has swept through the Federal Republic of Germany. In the name of celebrating the 35th anniversary of capitalist German “unity,” representatives of the state apparatus are pushing to erase the names of Vladimir Lenin and other socialist heroes from public spaces.

At the center of this offensive stands Evelyn Zupke, the Federal Commissioner for the so-called "Victims of the SED (Sozialistische Einheitspartei Deutschlands) Dictatorship".

The Kurdish nationalist movement’s anti-communism

By Cansu Oba

A recent article published by one of the Kurdish nationalist movement’s media outlets has provided an opportunity to revisit certain aspects of the movement’s class character and ideological foundations.

In reality, this stance is not new. Throughout Abdullah Öcalan’s years in prison, he has repeatedly produced statements and writings that target socialist experiences and the founders of scientific socialism. These have for some time been highlighted in the movement’s own media.

Communist Parties of Venezuela and Ecuador expose the "World Antiimperialist Platform’s" opportunism

In early December 2025, two significant communiqués — one from the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and the other from the Communist Party of Ecuador (PCE) — drew a clear political line across the international communist movement.

Both parties, united by shared ideological principles, issued sharp warnings about the so-called “World Anti-Imperialist Platform” (WAP), which they describe not as a vehicle for proletarian internationalism but as a reformist and openly anti-communist apparatus designed to align workers’ parties with the interests of one capitalist bloc against another.

Theses of the CC of the KKE: The current international reality and the stance of the international communist movement on imperialist wars

The Theses of the Central Committee of the KKE for the 22nd Congress provide a crucial and timely intervention in the international communist movement.

They address the serious ideological confusion that has intensified with the imperialist war in Ukraine, especially the widespread misinterpretations of imperialism and the alignment of several communist parties with one or another imperialist pole.

Statement by the Communist Party of Poland: "Our struggle continues"!

The shameful attempt of the Polish state to outlaw the Communist Party of Poland (Komunistyczna Partia Polski - KPP) has become a central front in the international struggle against anti-communism.

In recent weeks, the Polish authorities escalated their decade-long persecution by bringing the case before the Constitutional Tribunal in an effort to criminalize the Party’s very existence.

ALERT: Poland’s Constitutional Court bans Communist Party — Democracy under attack!

Today the Constitutional Tribunal of Poland issued a ruling declaring the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) unconstitutional and illegal, ordering its removal from the register of political parties.

The Tribunal’s decision follows a formal petition by the ultra-conservative Polish President Karol Nawrocki and finds that the aims and activities of the party violate the national constitution. The ruling effectively criminalizes the legitimate political activity of an established communist formation.
