Kemal Okuyan: "The goal of communism is absolutely timely today"

On the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution, soL news portal interviewed Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP):

On the 7th of November, 101st anniversary of the October Revolution will be celebrated. Is there anything left to celebrate?

USSR has been collapsed, that is, the country that is founded on the basis of the Revolution now does not exist. From that point of view, it might be thought that there is nothing to be celebrated, however, the Revolution is the greatest event of the 20th century whose remains cannot be wiped off from the earth and which still continues to inspire those who are oppressed all around the world. Today, in Russia, various rock bands are playing songs saying 'Towards New Octobers".

Thousands of workers honored the 101st anniversary of 1917 Revolution in Moscow

Thousands of people, workers, men and women of every age marched through Moscow on Wednesday 7th of November to commemorate the 101 years since the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution that brought the Bolsheviks to power in Russia and changed the route of history.

Tsarist Russia used a different calendar to modern Russia, so the actual day of the October (25th) Revolution falls in November (7th). Holding red flags and portraits of the revolutionary leaders Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin, thousands of people marched towards Teatralnaya Square next to the Kremlin.

The full statement is the following:
The Communist Party of Poland wishes to express its utmost indignation at the destruction of the monument commemorating the soldiers of the Red Army situated in the Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw.

How ungrateful are you Poland? Authorities dismantled Red Army monument in Warsaw

Within the framework of the hideous "decommunization" law, the reactionary right-wing government of Poland ordered the dismantling of the Monument of Gratitude to the Soldiers of the Red Army at Warsaw's Skaryszewski Park.

The Monument had been erected in 1946 in order to honor the 26 heroic Soviet soldiers who were killed there during a battle on September 1944. Throughout the years, the monument had been vandalized by various fascists and neo-Nazis.

E.Yaroslavsky- History of Anarchism in Russia (Before the Bolshevik Party / Part I)

History of Anarchism in Russia
By Emelyan Yaroslavsky.
New York: International Publishers, 1937.

INTRODUCTION

In the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics at the present time the anarchists no longer enjoy any influence over the masses. They are met with only as isolated individualists. The reason for this is the victory of socialism in the U.S.S.R. The old Russia, landlord and petty-bourgeoispeasant Russia, which fostered anarchism and gave birth to the founders of anarchism, those repentant aristocrats--Mikhail Bakunin, Peter Kropotkin and Leo Tolstoy--has passed away.

Estonian ex-president re-writes history: "The Nazis did not invade the Soviet Union"!

During the last years the anti-communist distortion of history in the Baltic countries has become an official policy. The EU and the USA support the attempt to historically rehabilitate and vindicate the fascists in the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), as well as in Ukraine, who during the 2nd World War aligned with the Nazis. They have labeled them “militants for democracy” because they fought against the heroic Red Army and the Soviet Union.

On May 9, 1945, in occupied Berlin by the Red Army, the Nazis signed their surrender to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, putting an end to World War II or the Great Patriotic War.

Nikos Kazantzakis writes about the Soviet Union

Nikos Kazantzakis
(Heraklion, 1883 - 1957, Freiburg)
Nikos Kazantzakis*.

1. This world, the post-war one, where we are living in, is so rotten, immoral and unworthy of even a moderate man, that every attempt to break it down seems- and is- sacred.

That is why today all honest people, all those who set justice, freedom and light as goals of the social life, regard the demolition of the rotten, dishonored, old foolish world as their first duty.

2. The second duty, the positive one, of every honest man today is: the effort to create a better world, where what call light or God or rise will be dominate.

This effort, the heroic one, the martyred one, has been taken and realized- this is her terrific historical mission- by Soviet Russia. This is today the creative turbine, the rotating sparkling nebula, which is constantly shaping and condensing and creating- this is now the only hope of the people- the new, better world.

Kemal Okuyan- Don’t you understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism?

Kemal Okuyan, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) and soL columnist, wrote an article on January 30 regarding the differences between patriotism and nationalism with reference to a famous patriotic Soviet song, 'Song of the Motherland', some lyrics of which were removed after the collapse of the Soviet Union in order to ignore the song's references to the equality of all people under socialism.

Don’t you understand the difference between patriotism and nationalism?

It was 1936. Racism and fascism were rising in Europe. Italy, Germany and Austria surrendered. The fascists declared a "holy war" against the republicans in Spain. Nationalism was polluting everywhere. Discrimination against the black people reached the highest level.

Roza Shanina- The Soviet Army's sniper who became the nightmare of the Nazis

Roza Shanina, In Memoriam.
Ро́за Гео́ргиевна Ша́нина
1924 - 1945.

It was January 28, 1945 when the heroic senior sergeant of the Soviet Red Army, Roza Shanina, died after being seriously wounded in combat. She was 20 years old and already a legendary fighter of the Soviet Army against the Nazis.
Roza Georgiyevna Shanina was born in the village of Yedma, Arkhangelsk Oblast, Russia to logger Georgiy Mikhailovich Shanin and milkmaid Anna Alexeyevna Shanina. After completing elementary school in Yedma, she studied at a middle school at the nearby village of Bereznik.
In 1938, she walked 200 kilometers (120 miles) to the city of Arkhangelsk, Russia to continue her education. In the same year, she joined All-Union Leninist Young Communist League (Komsomol). In 1941, after the Soviet Union introduced tuition fees for college courses, she took on a job at a kindergarten in Arkhangelsk to help her own finances.

“Gulag Archipelago”: Exposing the anticommunist fabrications of Solzhenitsyn

 By Nikos Mottas*.

One of the most famous and celebrated works of Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, the “Gulag Archipelago”, has been for a long time a kind of “holy bible” for every anticommunist. Firstly published in 1973, it- supposedly- consists an analytical record of the conditions existed in the so-called “labour camps” of the Soviet Union. Within the framework of the slanderous anticommunist campaign, bourgeois historiography has extensively promoted Solzhenitsyn's work as a source of arguments about the so-called “Stalinist dictatorship” and “communist crimes” in the Soviet Union.

However, there is a fundamental problem in the work of the deeply reactionary Solzhenitsyn: Gulag Archipelago is a completely antiscientific book, based almost entirely in rumors, speculations, third party opinions as well as interpretations of opinions by Solzenitsyn himself! In other words, the reader of this book becomes “hostage” of a novel type, unverifiable, recording to alleged events by Solzenitsyn and others who supposedly “saw”, “heard” or “learned” something.

When Donald Trump Falsifies History

A response to U.S. President Trump's blatant falsification of historical events.

By Nikos Mottas.

Donald Trump seems to have his own version of history. A version that falsifies completely the real historical events. The tycoon- turned President of the USA- decided to demonstrate his ignorance (or, perhaps, ability to distort history) during a Republican Party's rally in Pensacola, Florida on December 8th.

What did Trump say? Among others, the U.S. President said the following“We are the nation that dug out the Panama Canal, won two world wars, put a man on the moon and brought communism to its knees".

Russian Communist Workers Party (RCWP): Life itself has proved the correctness of Marxism’s founders

Contribution by the Russian Communist Workers Party at the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers Parties that took place in Leningrad (St Petersburg), 2-4 November 2017.
By Viktor Tyulkin.
1st-Secretary of Russian Communist Workers Party Central Committee.
Dear comrades, let me greet all participants of the meeting!
27 years ago (in April 1990) I gave a speech at the conference of Leningrad CPSU organization that was to discuss the list of delegates to be sent to the XXVIII Congress of CPSU. Exactly then there took place the division between market oriented supporters of Gorbachev and orthodox communists. This division is still present in Russian Federation and manifests itself as the existence of two parties: CPRF and RCWP and the struggle between these two parties.

Communist Party of Italy - Contribution to the scientific conference in honor of the 100 years since the October Revolution

Communist Party of Italy.
Contribution at the Scientific Conference in honor
of the 100 years since the October Revolution.
Leningrad, August 10-13, 2017.
A hundred years ago scientific socialism became reality. Until then, Marxism had only been theorized within the First International and applied to the class struggle in conditions of bourgeois domination; after that, it became reality for a short while, during the Paris Commune, showing that the proletarian revolution was not only possible, but even necessary. With the October Revolution, Marxism is applied to building Socialism, as the first step in the construction of the Communist society.
