The undersigned delegations attending the 22^nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties, held in Havana in October 2022 express: 

Our strongest condemnation of the unjust, illegal and inhumane blockade maintained by the government of the United States against Cuba and demand, once again, its immediate and unconditional end. 

We urge the international community to demand that the U.S. government comply with the numerous UN General Assembly Resolutions condemning the blockade and calling for its lifting.

The 22^nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) was held between 27-29 October in Havana, Cuba, Below you can read the contribution of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) which was delivered in the meeting by its Politburo member Giorgos Marinos,

Dear comrades,

We are holding the 22^nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties in the face of the difficulties caused by the pandemic. We are meeting here, in Havana, to continue the effort that began in 1998 in Athens and in the years that followed travelled to many regions across the world.

The 22nd IMCWP kicks off in Havana, Cuba

Delegates from 65 countries from all continents have gathered in Havana in order to attend the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) which is taking place between 27-29 October at the Havana Convention Palace.

"United we are stronger" is the slogan of the event in which representatives of 82 political forces and 31 delegations headed by their presidents or general secretaries will participate.

Communist and Workers' Parties meeting to be held in Havana on October 27-29

Havana, Cuba's capital city, will be the hosting place of the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) on October 27-29, 2022.

The theme of the 22nd IMCWP will be: “Solidarity with Cuba and all the struggling people. United we are stronger in the anti-imperialist struggle, alongside social and popular movements, we confront capitalism and its policies, the threat of fascism and war. For the defense of peace, environment, workers' rights, solidarity and socialism”.

Joint Statement of the General Secretaries of the CP of Greece, Mexico, Workers of Spain, Turkey

On 8 July 2022, a quadripartite meeting between the CP of Greece (KKE), the CP of Mexico (PCM), the CP of the Workers of Spain (PCTE), and the CP of Turkey (TKP) was held in Athens, at the headquarters of the CC of the KKE.

After the meeting, the General Secretaries of the 4 CPs issued the following statement:

“During our meeting on 8/7/22 in Athens, we had the opportunity to exchange opinions on the developments at international and national level, the situation formed due to the imperialist war in Ukraine, and the multifaceted anti-popular and anti-labour attack under the conditions of the so-called Green transition, of the energy crisis and a possible food crisis, essentially of the impending economic recession and crisis. 

Communist and Workers' Parties: Solidarity with the KKE and KNE in the struggle against imperialist war

Numerous Communist and Workers' Parties from all over the world have issued statements of solidarity with the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) in the struggle against the imperialist war in Ukraine and the country's involvement in the dangerous US-NATO plans. 

The Parties express their support and solidarity to the militants, including two members of the CC of the KKE and a member of the Central Council of KNE, who were beaten, injured and arrested following the unprovoked attack by police forces on the day of nationwide strike on April  6th in Thessaloniki. 

The stance of the communists towards the imperialist war in Ukraine

The inter-imperialist confrontation between the Euro-Atlantic powers (USA, NATO, EU) and Russia in Ukraine inevitably brings to the fore serious ideological-political disagreements and chronic contradictions that exist in the international communist movement.

The Russian invasion and the war in Ukraine emphatically highlights the misconception that exists in part of the communist movement concerning the issue of imperialism. A number of self-proclaimed “communist” forces are either unable, or deliberately avoid, to conceive imperialism through Leninist criteria. Instead, they disconnect economy from politics, overlook the fact that the competition between the monopolies is the basis for the sharpening of international conflicts and focus unilaterally on the aggressive foreign policy of specific states and alliances (e.g. USA, NATO, EU). 

Cuba to host the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties in 2022

Havana, Cuba's capital city, will be the hosting place of the 22nd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMCWP) on October 27-29, 2022. 

According to 902 portal, the decision was taken in yesterday's session of the Working Group of IMCWP in Lisbon, under the participation of 25 Communist and Workers Parties, 

UKRAINE WAR: Joint Statement of Communist and Workers’ Parties — No to the imperialist war!

No to the imperialist war in Ukraine!

An independent struggle is needed against monopolies and bourgeois classes, for the overthrow of capitalism, for the strengthening of the class struggle against imperialist war, for socialism!

1. The Communist and Workers’ Parties signing this Joint Statement are opposed to the imperialist conflict in Ukraine, which constitutes one of the consequences of the tragic situation for the peoples shaped after the overthrow of socialism and the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Both the bourgeois and the opportunist forces, which for years have fought against the USSR and recently celebrated the 30^th anniversary of its dissolution, silencing the fact that the restoration of capitalism meant the dismantling of historic workers’ and people’s achievements and brought the peoples of the USSR back to the era of class exploitation and imperialist wars, are completely exposed.

In recent days, the confrontation between the USA–NATO–EU and Russia is sharpening. The deployment of large military forces throughout the region from the Baltic to the Black Sea is accompanied by negotiations between these forces.

Recently, in conditions of an ongoing 5th wave of the pandemic, an Extraordinary Teleconference of the International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties was held under the responsibility of the CP of Greece (KKE) and the CP of Turkey (TKP). The developments confirm that bourgeois governments were not able to tackle the coronavirus pandemic to the benefit of the workers. Moreover, the restrictions on travelling from one country to another hindered in-person meetings. This negative development is rooted in the enormous deficiencies in the public healthcare systems as a result of the anti-popular policy followed by governments serving the capital.
