Communist Party of Denmark: Hands Off Greenland!

Greenland's dependence on Denmark is the result of colonial subjugation – not a voluntary choice. If Greenland wants to break this dependence, the choice is the Greenlanders'; but Denmark cannot run away from its obligations.

Recently, Alice Weidel, the frontwoman of Germany’s far-right AfD party, was interviewed by tycoon and Trump supporter Elon Musk. In their much-publicized virtual conversation, Weidel blurted out that Hitler was a “communist” and a “socialist” in order to show the distance that supposedly separates her from Nazism, since Hitler was “not a conservative” or “a libertarian” and that her party and she are “exactly the opposite”.

European Parliament prohibits the organization of exhibition for Cuba's internationalist solidarity!

In an utterly shameful and unjustifiable decision, the European Parliament prohibits the organization of the an exhibition dedicated to the internationalist solidarity of Cuba's medical brigades. 

 

More specifically, the Europarliament Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) strongly denounces the decision of the European Parliament not to grant permission for the organization of an exhibition titled “Cuba and the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigades: an example of internationalist solidarity”.

On the night of January 7, the disappearance of Márquez, leader of the Centrados en la Gente party and member of the Popular Democratic Front (FDP), a platform that groups together left-wing, popular and revolutionary political and social organizations, among them the PCV, was confirmed.

The 6th of January 2025 marked the 30th death anniversary of Joe Slovo, anti-apartheid fighter, leader of the South African Communist Party (SACP) from 1984 to 1991 and leading member of the African National Congress (ANC). He served as Minister of Housing in Nelson Mandela's first government, from April 1994 until his death.

Born as Yossel Mashel Slovo on 23 May 1926 in Obelai, Lithuania, Slovo’s journey to South Africa at the age of nine marked the beginning of his lifelong commitment to the working class and its struggles. His childhood hardships forced him to start working in a warehouse at the age of sixteen, where he encountered the harsh realities of capitalist exploitation.

The dissolution of the Soviet Union and the counterrevolutionary events in Eastern Europe in 1989-1991 marked the biggest blow to the international communist movement. Russians honor Stalin's 145th birth anniversary

Despite the usual freezing temperatures, hundreds of Muscovites gathered on Saturday 21/12 in Red Square in order to commemorate the 145th birth anniversary of Joseph Stalin. 

Waiving soviet flags, holding portraits of Stalin and flowers, Communist Party members, workers, men and women, people of every age created a long queue in order to pay tribute to the late leader's grave at the Kremlin Necropolis. Similar events took place in other Russian cities as well, including Saint Petersburg (Leningrad). 

The 22nd Congress of the Portuguese Communist Party concludes successfully

The XXII Congress of the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP), which took place between 13 and 15 December 2024 in Lisbon's Almada district, concluded its works successfully, electing a new Central Committee of 125 members.

In recent years the right-wing populist parties around the world have successfully garnered support from the political left working class by advocating for robust welfare states, albeit through a lens that is often chauvinist, nativist, and ethnonationalist.

The University of Tübingen in Germany presents a hideously anti-commmunist exhibition under the name “The Price of Freedom”, which is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the 20th anniversary of the so-called “Orange Revolution” in Ukraine and the 10 years since the Euromaidan. 

 

Unsurprisingly, partners in this anti-communist project are the the Federal Foreign Office and the Ukrainian Institute in Berlin.
