Miguel Díaz-Canel: "We will be like Che, today, tomorrow and forever. Until the victory forever"

The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today evoked the example of Argentine-Cuban communist revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara after the 52nd anniversary of his fall in combat.

In his Twitter account, the Cuban President wrote: "We will be like Che, today, tomorrow and forever. Until the victory forever. We are Cuba. We are continuity."

Communist Party of Greece (KKE): Letter to the U.N. Secretary General about Venezuela

A delegation from the European Parliamentary Group of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) visited the offices of the United Nations (UN) in Brussels on Wednesday 11/9/2019, and delivered this letter to the Secretary-General of the UN Mr. Antonio Guterres, from the Parliamentary and European Parliamentary Group of the Party.

The letter denounces the interference of the USA and its allies in Venezuela and the threats of military intervention against the country, while it expresses the solidarity of the KKE with the Venezuelan people.

Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV): What is going on in the Amazon isn’t fire; its capitalism

The Politbureau of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) in its weekly press conference held August 26 declared its position regarding the serious situation which affects the Brazilian Amazonian region. 

With respect, the Secretary for International Relations of the Central Committee of the PCV, Carolus Wimmer, said: "The PCV warns that what is going on in the Amazon isn’t fire, its capitalism. There is a wave of information which is looking to hide the truth of the problem. The consequence of the expansion of the interests of the transnational firms in our region has naturally not only caused the exploitation of the workers and misery and hunger for the popular masses, but also the destruction of the environment."  

FARC-EP rebels denounce the "betrayal of peace" by the state, continue armed struggle

"While there is a will to fight, there' ll be hope of winning". This is the title of the manifesto released by guerrillas of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP) who announced the continuation of the armed struggle against the bourgeois state. 

In a 32-minute video featuring Ivan Marquez, a leading figure of FARC, alongside Jesus Santrich and other ex-rebels, the colombian guerrillas denounced the "betrayal" of the 2016 peace agreement by the Colombian state. 

Amazon rainforest is burning — Bolsonaro is a modern Nero

An immense ecological disaster has been taking place for over two weeks in the "earth's lungs", the Amazon rainforest in South America. 

According to the estimations of Brazilian and Bolivian authorities, more than 500,000 acres of virgin forest have already been destroyed, thousands of wild animals have been killed and several local tribes have been affected. 

It must be noted that the area of Amazon covers 7.4 million square kilometres (5 million sq klm consist of dense rainforest), spreading to 9 countries including Brazil (60%), Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, Equador, Paraguay, Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana. The huge rainforest of Amazon has been characteristed as the "earth's lungs", taking into account that it absorbs approximately 1 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year. 

¡No, señores imperialistas...!: President Miguel Díaz-Canel blasts U.S. imperialist aggression

Cuba will not betray its friends, warned President Miguel Diaz-Canel Friday in a speech pronounced on National Rebellion Day in the eastern Granma province.

He affirmed it in the commemoration of the 66th anniversary of the attacks on Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, in Bayamo, a feat led by Fidel Castro and which started the Cuban Revolution.

Cuban President Diaz-Canel slams far-right US Senator Rubio: "We won't yield to threats"

"We will eternally defend our sovereignty and independence,” Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said, giving a powerful response to the despicable threats unleashed by far-right U.S. Florida Senator Marco Rubio.  

Cuba will not yield to “pressure or threats” from the United States, President Miguel Diaz-Canel said Saturday in response to an aggressive tweet taunt Friday by the Republican senator. 

Greek anti-imperialists slam ND government's recognition of Venezuelan coup leader Guaido

Fully aligned with the US and EU imperialist policy, Greece's newly-elected conservative government of New Democracy (ND) has officially recognized US-backed coup plotter Juan Guaido as Venezuela's "interim President". 

This decision of Kyriakos Mitsotakis' government has already been denounced by progressive and anti-imperialist forces as an act that makes Greece an accomplice in the dangerous imperialist US-EU plans in the region. 

"This act supports the dirty intervention of the USA, the EU and their allies in Venezuela and it is directed against the legally elected President of the country and against the Venezuelan people as a whole" points out, among other things, the statement of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE). Mexico's Communist Party (PCM) slams Trump-Obrador anti-immigration deal

In a statement the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) slams the recent agreement made by the governments of Donald Trump and López Obrador on immigration issues. 

The Communist Party accusses both the two governments that they actually staged a farce of negotiations - with threats with tariff measures on one hand and a wave of patriotism on the other - thus hiding the real issue which is the imposition of anti-immigration policies by both sides. 

Cuban Foreign Minister slams U.S. aggression: "Bolton and Pompeo lie again and again"

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez said today that lies are the basis of the aggressive escalation of the United States against Latin America.

'Bolton and Pompeo lie again and again (...) Accusations vs. #Cuba is a vulgar slander. Blackmail is unacceptable. They look for pretexts to intensify the blockade and hostility against the Island, 'the foreign minister wrote in his account on the social network Twitter.

Earlier, Rodriguez rejected the pronouncements of the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, who accused the largest of the Antilles of being 'the true imperialist power in Venezuela.' 

KKE strongly condemns the imperialist-backed coup attempt in Venezuela

On the occasion of the new US-backed coup attempt in Venezuela, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) has issued a statement (read here in Greek):

"The KKE unequivocally condemns the coup attempt in Venezuela for the overthrow of the country's elected president and the imposition of Guaido or any other stooge of the imperialists.

KKE denounces the U.S. imperialist aggression against Cuba and Latin American people

In a statement issued on Thursday 18 April, the Press Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the intensificiation of the U.S. imperialist aggression and threats against Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua and the people of Latin America.

Evo Morales, Alexis Tsipras and... "revolutionary realism"

It was truly sad watching Bolivian President Evo Morales becoming part of Alexis Tsipras' propaganda just months before Greek elections. Because that is what Tsipras actually tried during Morales' visit in Athens two days ago. 

Having the President of Bolivia by his side and in front of Greek and foreign reporters, Tsipras engaged into an endless jabbering about the "common struggles of the progressive forces", talked about "democracy and social justice", the "21st century left", etc. 

Cuba denounces the US-organized sabotage of Venezuelan electrical power system

The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba strongly condemns the sabotage perpetrated against the Venezuelan electrical power system, which is a terrorist act intended to harm the defenseless population of an entire nation, and taking it hostage in the non-conventional war launched by the government of the United States against the legitimate government headed by comrade Nicolás Maduro Moros and the civic and military union of the Bolivarian, Chavista people.

KKE deputy at EU Parliament condemns US-EU imperialist interference in Venezuela

Mexico's Communist Party denounces US-EU aggression in Venezuela, calls for solidarity

In a latest statement, the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) condemns the measures adopted by the Trump administration and the European Union against the people and the sovereignty of Venezuela. 

The PCM states that "the role of Guaidó reminds collaborationist governments, puppets of fascism" and pays attention to the provocation scheduled by the US and Guaidó for February 23rd, when in the name of "humanitarian aid" the imperialist centers of the US and the EU intend to instroduce "destruction and death" against the people of Venezuela and the country's sovereign rights. 

Greece's Communist Youth (KNE) condemns imperialist coup against Venezuela

In a statement, the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) - the youth wing of the KKE- expresses its full solidarity with the people and youth of Venezuela, condemns the imperialist interference in the country and calls for protests on Tuesday 5 February in Athens and Thessaloniki. 

Under the slogan "Solidarity with the people of Venezuela! No submission to imperialism, the people are the only superpower", KNE calls young men and women to condemn the blatant intervention of the USA, the EU and their allied governments in Venezuela.
