"puppet-president" of Venezuela Juan Guaido.
Earlier today, the Greek Foreign Ministry said the government recognized Juan Guaido as president of Venezuela "in order for him to call for free, fair and democratic presidential elections."
"The Government of the Hellenic Republic, in accordance with the common EU position in the statement of the EU High Representative/Vice President, Mrs Mogherini, on behalf of the EU28, decided to recognize the President of the democratically elected National Assembly, Juan Guaido as President a.i. of Venezuela, in order for him to call for free, fair and democratic presidential elections," a ministry statement said.
In a statement, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns the recognition of coup plotter Juan Guaidó as Venezuela's interim President by the Greek government.
The statement published in 902 portal points out:
"The KKE denounces the government of ND which recognized Juan Guaidó, coup d’etat leader and puppet of the USA, as interim President of Venezuela, based on the unacceptable common position of the EU that was backed by the SYRIZA government.
This act supports the dirty intervention of the USA, the EU and their allies in Venezuela and is directed against the legally elected President of the country and against the Venezuelan people as a whole, who is the only responsible factor to determine the political and social developments in their country.
The KKE expresses its international solidarity with the people of Venezuela, the Communist Party (PCV) and the Communist Youth who are fighting for the people's interests".
