"As long as the Soviet Union existed no one was hungry"

A white t-shirt with the initials of the Soviet Union in Russian (CCCP) and the sickle and hammer were enough to infuriate anti-communists in social media.

Julia Nova, a Greek model and TV presenter (photo), decided to share with her followers the happiness of pregnancy by uploading a photo on her Instagram profile account

The photo of her wearing a t-shirt with the "USSR" initials on it provoked the angry reaction of anti-communists, right-wingers and various social media trolls who attacked her. Julia, who is of Ukrainian origin, became the target of rude and derisive comments by some users who apparently can't stand in the view of the sickle and hammer.

Sieg für DKP! German Communist Party will participate in September's federal elections

Sieg für DKP! (Victory for DKP)! The German Communist Party will finally participate in the upcoming federal elections which are going to take place on September. The Federal Constitutional Court completely overturned the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee which did not recognize the party as such and subsequently did not allow it to take part in the electoral process.

According to jungewelt.de, the decision of the Federal Electoral Committee, which observers referred to as a "cold party ban", was challenged by the DKP on July 12 in Karlsruhe with a so-called non-recognition complaint.

Die Linke supported the ban of German Communist Party

On 9 July we wrote that the Federal Election Commission announced that the German Communist Party (DKP) will not be allowed to participate in September's Bundestag elections and at the same time will be deprived of its status as a political party.

The pretext for this shameful decision was the alleged late submission of financial statements.

Several Communist and Workers' Parties from across the world have strongly condemned the decision of the Commission and expressed its solidarity to the DKP.

In the following, you will find the statement of the chairman of the German Communist Party Patrik Köbele on the notification of the Federal Election Commissioner that the DKP will not be admitted to the Bundestag elections in September, and at the same time will be deprived of its status as a political party. The allegedly late submission of financial statements is used as a pretext.

Goebbels in Florida: Red Scare bill declares November 7th as... "victims of communism day"

A monstrous anti-communist bill that falsifies history was approved on Wednesday by the Florida House of Representatives. More specifically, according to the bill (HB 1553) students in Florida schools would be taught each year about “how people have suffered and died under communist regimes”!

Furthermore, the bill requires the governor of annually issue a proclamation designating November 7th – the anniversary day of the Great October Socialist Revolution – as... “Victims of Communism Day”!

EU Commission: An accomplice in Polish government's effort to ban the Communist Party

Once again the European Union provocatively turns a blind eye to anti-communist persecutions that are taking place in its member-states.

Two months ago, EU Commission's Vice President Vera Jourová, answering a question submitted by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) MEP Kostas Papadakis, had actually justified the despicable anti-communist legislation of the Slovakian government (read here).

EU Commission justifies Slovakian government's monstrous anti-communist law

In a written question submitted on November 2020 the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) MEP Kostas Papadakis asked the EU Commission to provide its opinion concerning the new despicable anti-communist law of Slovakia's coalition government that characterizes the Slovakian Communist Party as a “criminal and reprehensible organization”.

In her response, the Vice President of the EU Commission Vera Jourová provocatively turns a blind eye to the anti-communist legislation of Slovakia that aims to criminalize communist ideology and the activity of the communists.

Australia: Greek communist immigrants condemn Senate's despicable anti-communist resolution

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) friends' organizations in Sydney and Melbourne strongly condemn the despicable resolution adopted by the Australian Senate that seeks to equate communism with and monster of fascism.

In the statement published on 902 portal, the ΚΚΕ Friends Organizations denounce the Australian Labour Party (ALP) and the Liberal Party for “cutting and sewing” in order to “turn History upside down and bring it to their anti-communist measures”. Alongside the two major parties were three “independent” senators and the far-right “National” party.

Australian Senate equates communism with fascism!

A despicable motion, which equalizes communism with fascism and right-wing extremism, was adopted by the Australian Senate earlier this month.

Under the responsibility of both the two major political forces, the right-wing “Coalition” (Liberal Party, National Party) and the social democratic Australian Labor Party (ALP), the unhistorical and unscientific theory of the “two extremes” has officially entered Australian politics.

CNN's big anti-communist lies

One of the most popular theories in modern anti-communism is the so-called “two extremes theory”; a dangerous and unhistorical ideological fabrication that tries to equate communism with the monsters of nazism-fascism. Recently, guided by this theory, CNN tried to equate the struggles of American communists in the mid-20th century with the far-right Trump supporters who stormed the Capitol last January!

Concerning CNN's anti-communist lies, Tony Pecinovsky writes in “People's World”:

"President Maduro, the real dilemma is whether you are with the working class or with the capitalists" — PCV Statement

In a very interesting statement published on Tribuna Popular, the Political Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) refers to some critical issues concerning the political direction and stance of Nicolas Maduro's social democratic government.

The full statement is the following:

With foundations in its ideological, political and organisational autonomy and independence, the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) is committed to confronting US-European imperialist aggression. It is also committed to confronting the economic, labour and agricultural policies which President Nicolas Maduro has been applying in favour of Capital and landowners.

State vandalism in Ukraine: Lviv authorities plan to dismantle monument dedicated to the Red Army

Another disturbing episode of anti-communist frenzy comes from Ukraine as the local authorities of Lviv are planning to dismantle the city's Monument of Glory – a memorial dedicated to the heroic Red Army soldiers - by the end of February 2021.

The decision was strongly condemned by the country's communists. Petro Symonenko, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Ukraine, said that the dismantling of the monument is “an act of state vandalism and moral terrorism” and added: “This is a crime against the memory of the soldiers of the Red Army, a crime against the memory of compatriots who died in the fight against the fascist infection, it is a slap in the face of the international community and all members of the anti-Hitler coalition”.

KKE: Démarche against the attempt to ban the Communist Party of Poland

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) made a démarche to the European Commission representation in Athens and the Polish embassy in Athens, against the new attempt to ban the Communist Party of Poland at the request of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Polish government.

In the démarche delivered by the KKE MEP Kostas Papadakis to the European Commission, it is noted: "The attempt of the Polish government to ban the CP of Poland as well as the methodical distortion of history are unacceptable. The EU also bears huge responsibilities, since the equation of the fascists - Nazis in the past and the present with those who fought against Nazism is an EU direction contained in anti-communist resolutions and declarations. This is a stance that encourages the action of the fascist-Nazi criminal formations".

Polish government's plan to outlaw the Communist Party shall not pass!

By Nikos Mottas.

It's been a long time since Poland, under the far-right government of Andrzej Duda, is driven into a very dangerous, anti-democratic path. With the EU's tolerance, or even encouragement, the authorities of Poland have unleased a persistent “witch-hunt” against the country's communists.

We have many times referred to the persecutions and legal proceedings against the Communist Party (KPP) and its newspaper “Bzrask”. Communist and Workers' Parties across Europe and the world, such as the KKE, have undertaken numerous initiatives in the international forums (e.g. EU Parliament) about these anti-communist persecutions and restrictions imposed by the Polish government.

Cuba: Who is behind the San Isidro counter-revolutionary show?

Recently, a small group of U.S-backed mercenaries in Havana, Cuba, tried to stage a despicable anti-Cuban show seeking to destabilize the country. This group of 14 people became the center of a new counter-revolutionary, sponsored and supported by the U.S. government, farce in San Isidro neighborhood in Old Havana.

But who is behind the anti-Cuban show in San Isidro? The following article published in Granma newspaper is revealing:

Who’s behind the anti-Cuban show in San Isidro?

On the Anti-communist remarks of the Ecumenical Patriarch concerning the Holodomor

By Nikos Mottas.

“The Ukrainian term ‘Holodomor’ refers to the man-made and intentional famine, the devilish plan of the Stalinist system aimed at a well-planned genocide of a very pious people with the aim of eradicating the Christian faith and the Orthodox Church...”.

These words were not expressed by any extremist ultra-conservative bishop or priest, nor they were written in any right-wing newspaper. These are the words of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, the head of the Orthodox Church, during a memorial service held at the Patriarchal Church in Istanbul on the occasion of the 87th anniversary of the so-called 1932-1933 Ukrainian famine (also known as “Holodomor”).

Hands off the communists! KKE condemns the persecution of communists in the Russian city of Tyumen

The Russian authorities in the city of Tyumen on November 7, 2020, the day of the 103rd anniversary of the October Revolution, banned the events of the Communist Workers' Party of Russia under the pretext of the pandemic, violently suppressing them, despite the observance by the organizers of all the necessary health rules. In addition, they violently attacked and arrested the Secretary of the CWPR Organization and other executives of the organization, initiating prosecutions against them.

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) condemns these anti-communist actions of the authorities in the city of Tyumen, which are part of the ideological-political operation to silence the revolutionary message of the Red October, which is especially evident since the authorities had allowed other mass activities, while in other cities related activities for the October Revolution were carried, without any particular problems.

Slovakia's reactionary drift: Parliament passes monstrous anti-communist amendment

Following the steps of Poland, the Parliament of Slovakia passed a despicable anti-communist amendment which distorts history and sets into grave danger the democratic and political rights in the country.

More specifically, the amendment, which was prepared by the conservative coalition government of Igor Matovič and passed by the Parliament on November 4th, declares the Czechoslovak Communist Party (as well as the current Communist Party of Slovakia) as “criminal organizations”! The amendment is added to the 1996 anti-communist law on “Immorality and Illegality of the Communist System” and will be put into effect on December 1st.
