"The Grand National Assembly of Turkey has made another shameful decision. The issue of Sweden's membership to NATO was discussed in the General Assembly of the Parliament today and approved with a majority of votes. As it is known, after the start of the war in Ukraine, NATO's attempt to gain new members in Northern Europe gained great momentum and the membership of Sweden and Finland was immediately on the agenda. As a result of an extremely fast process, Finland became a member of NATO and the Turkish Parliament was one of the parliaments that signed this historic decision in March 2023.
The AKP government dragged its feet on Sweden's membership and tried to use this issue as a bargaining chip with imperialism on various issues, especially the purchase of F-16 fighter jets. The withdrawal of the "reservations" by the AKP and its main ally MHP shows not only that a certain progress has been made in these negotiations, but also that those who try to lull millions to sleep with the lie of "domestic and national" (how AKP government defined its power) have once again handed over the reins of the country to the imperialists.
After Finland, Sweden's accession will lead to an increase and perpetuation of war and political tensions in the region, including our country. The US and Western imperialism in general want the tensions in the region to continue, even though they have not yet achieved the desired result. For this purpose, various initiatives, including the breach of the Montreux Treaty, have the potential to pose a major threat to peace in the region.
All these developments also pose a major threat to the security of our country. The government, which approved Sweden's membership after Finland's, has not only ensured that Turkey's membership in NATO is once again registered, but is also becoming an accomplice of this war organization as part of imperialist politics.
However, NATO is only a terrorist organization. It poses a major security threat to the peoples of both member states and other countries. It has tried to guarantee the continuation of the capitalist system by using both direct war methods and counter-guerrilla tactics, and has not hesitated to do its best to silence the voices of the working people.
What is urgently needed is to get rid of NATO. The first step is for our country and other member countries to leave NATO. The Communist Party of Turkey will continue to stand behind its claim on this issue. Because NATO will only bring war, blood and suffering to humanity.
As we shouted today in front of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, which signed this shameful decision, we promise, we will kick NATO out of our country!
Down with NATO, down with imperialism!
Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi utanç verici bir karara daha imza attı. İsveç’in NATO’ya üyeliği konusu bugün Meclis Genel Kurulu’nda görüşüldü ve oy çokluğuyla kabul edildi. Bilindiği gibi Rusya-Ukrayna Savaşı’nın başlamasının ardından NATO’nun Kuzey Avrupa’da yeni üyeler kazanması girişimi büyük bir hız kazanmış, İsveç ve Finlandiya’nın üyeliği hemen gündeme gelmişti. Son derece hızlı ilerleyen bir sürecin sonucunda Finlandiya NATO’ya üye olurken TBMM de 2023 yılının Mart ayında bu tarihi karara imza atan parlamentolardan biri olmuştu.
AKP hükümeti İsveç’in üyeliği konusundaysa ayak diremiş, bu konuyu, başta F-16 uçaklarının alımı olmak üzere çeşitli konularda emperyalizmle pazarlık unsuru olarak kullanmaya çalışmıştı. AKP ve baş müttefiki MHP’nin “çekincelerini” geri çekmesi bu pazarlıklarda belli bir ilerlemenin katedildiğinin ötesinde, “yerli ve milli” yalanıyla milyonları uyutmaya çalışanların ülkenin dizginlerini bir kez daha emperyalistlere teslim ettiğini göstermektedir.
Finlandiya’nın ardından İsveç’in üyeliği de, ülkemizin de içinde bulunduğu bölgedeki savaş ortamının ve siyasi gerilimlerin artmasına ve süreklileşmesine neden olacak. ABD ve genel olarak Batı emperyalizmi, her ne kadar istediği sonucu henüz elde edememiş olsa da bölgedeki gerilimlerin devamını istiyor. Bunun için Montrö anlaşmasının delinmesi dahil çeşitli girişimler bölge barışı için büyük birer tehdit oluşturma potansiyeli taşıyor.
Bütün bu gelişmeler ülkemizin güvenliği açısından da büyük bir tehdit oluşturuyor. Finlandiya’nın ardından İsveç’in üyeliğine de onay veren iktidar, Türkiye’nin NATO üyeliğinin bir kez daha tescillenmesini sağlamış olmakla kalmıyor, emperyalist siyasetin parçası olarak bu savaş örgütünün suç ortaklığına soyunuyor.
Oysaki NATO yalnızca bir terör örgütüdür. Hem üye ülkelerin hem de diğer ülkelerin halkları için büyük bir güvenlik tehdidi oluşturmaktadır. Gerek doğrudan savaş yöntemleri kullanarak gerekse kontrgerilla taktiklerine başvurarak kapitalist düzenin devamını garanti altına almaya çalışmış, emekçilerin sesinin kısılması için elinden geleni yapmaktan çekinmemiştir.
Acil olarak yapılması gereken, NATO’dan kurtulmaktır. Bunun ilk adımı ülkemizin ve diğer üye ülkelerin NATO’dan ayrılmalarıdır. Türkiye Komünist Partisi bu konudaki iddiasının arkasında durmaya devam edecektir. Zira NATO insanlığa yalnızca savaş, kan ve acı getirecektir.
Bugün bu utanç verici karara imza atan TBMM’nin önünde haykırdığımız gibi, söz veriyoruz, NATO’yu ülkemizden defedeceğiz!
Kahrolsun NATO, kahrolsun emperyalizm!
