100 Jahre KKE: Sekretär D. Koutsoumbas besucht Berlin am 3.-4. November (DE / EN)

Das Zentralkomitee der Kommunistischen Partei Griechenlands (KKE) organisiert eine Veranstaltung zu Ehren der 100 Jahre der Partei in Berlin. 

Die Veranstaltung findet am Samstag, den 3. November um 17 Uhr in der Schorfheide nördlich von Berlin statt. Der Hauptredner wird der KKE-Generalsekretär Dimitris Koutsoumbas sein. 

Grußbotschaften werden vom Sekretär der Parteiorganisation KKE in Deutschland, Kostas Goutzigiannis, sowie vom Vizepräsidenten der Deutschen Kommunistischen Partei (DKP), Hans-Peter Brenner, gehalten.

PCPE rejects the closure of Alcoa aluminium plants in Spain

Filthy anticommunist propaganda by Greek state broadcaster ERT denounced by KKE

In a report published today, Rizospastis newspaper (Organ of the CC of the KKE) denounces the screening by the Greek state-owned broadcaster ERT of an anticommunist, antisoviet documentary titled "The day when... Stalin won the war". 

The documentary - an "anticommunist garbage" as Rizospastis calls it- consists of five parts and attempts to reproduce the talks at the Yalta Conference (4-11 February 1945) by using actors.

The murder of Jamal Khashoggi highlights the hypocrisy of the imperialists

The alleged murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist, in the Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul has made headlines. Washington Post writer and a former newspaper editor in Saudi Arabia, Khashoggi had been an advisor of Prince Turki al-Faisal, former Saudi intelligence chief, and has also been close to billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. 

According to Middle East specialists, there are deeper subplots played into Khashoggi’s death — ties to Saudi intelligence and his relationship with the Islamist group known as "the Muslim Brotherhood". Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman branded the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization. 

KKE MEP responds to vulgar anticommunist remarks made by EU Parliament's President

As 902 portal reports, the deputy of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) at the European Parliament, Sotiris Zarianopoulos, gave a decisive response to the vulgar anticommunist statements made by the EU Parliament's President Antonio Tajani. 

During the discussion regarding the monthly "Conclusions of the European Council", the KKE MEP denounced the effort of Tajani to equate the fascist monster with communism and condemned the anticommunist stance of bourgeois parties in the European Parliament

Massive demonstration by the KKE against US-NATO military bases in Greece (Photos)

With the major slogan being "No to the plans of the government and imperialists, NATO and its bases out of Greece", thousands of workers, people of every age, participated in a militant rally organized on Tuesday evening by the Communist Party of Greece and its youth wing KNE in Athens. 

Members and friends of the KKE and KNE protested against the imperialist plans and raised their voice against the existence of US-NATO bases in Greece. The demonstrators demanded the closure of all foreign military bases and the return of all Greek soldiers who participate in NATO missions abroad.

Greek Navy conscripts stand up against NATO: "There is no place for NATO in Greece"

"The bloodstained NATO symbols are a disgrace for the ships of the Greek fleet" says a conscript at the Greek Navy, expressing his strong protest for the participation of Greek ships in NATO's military exercises. 

Conscripts who are serving their military service at the Greek Navy denounce the decision of the SYRIZA-ANEL government to involve Greece's Armed Forces even deeper in NATO's imperialist plans.

Communist Party of Poland: Polish people owe their liberation to the Soviet Army

In a statement, the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) strongly denounces the recent demolition of the Red Army monument at Warsaw's Skaryszewski Park, comparing this practice of the Polish authorities to what the Islamic State did to historical sites in the Middle East. The Communist Party of Poland wishes to express its utmost indignation at the destruction of the monument commemorating the soldiers of the Red Army situated in the Skaryszewski Park in Warsaw. 

Karl Marx Forever! Exhibit in honor of the revolutionary thinker opened in Russia

An exhibition under the title "Karl Marx Forever?" opened in the State Museum of Russia in Leningrad (now St.Petersburg) on October 17, featuring various art pieces and documents, thus being the first display in honor of the great revolutionary thinker since the dissolution of the Soviet Union

The exhibition is organized on the occasion of Karl Marx's 200th birth anniversary. According to the State Museum it "offers a comprehensive overview of images of the influential thinker in Russian culture and everyday life from the beginning of the 20th century till nowadays. The display includes over 100 works of fine art, household items, and archival records."

How ungrateful are you Poland? Authorities dismantled Red Army monument in Warsaw

Within the framework of the hideous "decommunization" law, the reactionary right-wing government of Poland ordered the dismantling of the Monument of Gratitude to the Soldiers of the Red Army at Warsaw's Skaryszewski Park. 

The Monument had been erected in 1946 in order to honor the 26 heroic Soviet soldiers who were killed there during a battle on September 1944. Throughout the years, the monument had been vandalized by various fascists and neo-Nazis.

Greek communists prepare for nationwide rallies against US-NATO military bases

Demonstrations and various kinds of mobilizations organized by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and its youth wing KNE against the presence of US-NATO bases in Greece have been scheduled to take place in many cities across the country on 22nd and 23rd of October.

Major demonstrations will take place in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras, as well as in other parts of Greece where the government, in collaboration with the US, is planning to install new military bases for the needs of NATO

The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Cuba to the United Nations has issued a statement strongly denouncing the unprecedented provocation of the U.S. government in the United Nations. The statement, published in newspaper "Granma", reads:
Today, Tuesday 16 October, 2018, the United States of America has once again sullied the name of the United Nations.
The United States, in another action of contempt for human rights and this Organization, has preferred to create absurd lies about Cuba rather than recognize and promote a campaign to redress its multiple human rights violations, both in its territory and in the rest of the world.

Turkish workers establish solidarity network against the crisis and the capitalists

The Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) has inaugurated the solidarity, struggle and communication network of workers against the crisis and the capitalists, soL news portal reports. 

In its appeal, “the TKP will welcome those who wish to have access to this network at its buildings, clubhouses and representative agencies,” the party said. 

“We will join our forces. We will not bow down to the bosses. We will clamp down on the exploiters. Those who suppose that workers are all alone should know that we will breathe down bosses’ neck.”

Capitalism in Australia: A record number of elderly people are sinking in poverty, debts

According to an interesting report of news agency Xinhua from Canberra, debt assistance services have warned that a record number of elderly Australians are living in poverty.

The National Debt Helpline (NDH), the government's financial counselling service, is on-track to receive a record number of calls in 2018 and staff have observed a marked increase in the number of older Australians who cannot pay their rent or mortgage.

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) strongly denounces the statements made by I. Mosiychuk, member of the Parliament of Ukraine with the “Radical” Party, via which he is calling upon “patriots” to murder Petro Symonenko, 1st Secretary of the CC of the CP of Ukraine.

Eric "Stalin" Mtshali, South Africa's veteran communist and anti-apartheid symbol, dies

Comrade Eric "Stalin" Mtshali (84), a long standing SACP leader, a veteran of our struggle for complete liberation and social emancipation, has ceased to breathe in the early hours of Friday, 12 October 2018. The South African Communist Party announced this great loss with deep sorrow.

Comrade Blade Nzimande, SACP General Secretary conveys our heartfelt condolences to the family of Mtshali, our entire movement and the people of South Africa as a whole. The SACP will announce memorial and funeral service details in due course after consultation with the family and the Alliance.

KKE: The policy of Tsipras places him in the same reactionary bloc of ND and PASOK

In a statement regarding the speech of Alexis Tsipras at the Central Committee of his party, SYRIZA, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) writes:

"The virtual reality that Mr Tsipras describes is collapsing in front of the people's daily routine, in poverty which persists, in the overdue payments which increase the threats of confiscations and auctions, in the labour jungle, in all these that were formed by the austerity memorandum laws of SYRIZA, New Democracy (ND) and PASOK alongside the permanent EU supervision. [This is a] proof that the development is not only unfair but, on the contrary, it is deeply class-based, anti-people and uncertain.

Ukraine: Far-right MP makes life threats against Communist Party leader Symonenko

The Communist Party of Ukraine has issued a statement regarding threats made against the First Secretary Petro (Pyotr) Symonenko by lawmaker Mosiychuk Igor Vladimirovich: 
The Communist Party of Ukraine states that the calls of the MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mosiychuk Igor Vladimirovich for murder of the leader of the Communist Party of Ukraine Pyotr Nikolayevich Symonenko is crime under the Articles 14, 15, 27, 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine that is punished with imprisonment up to 5 years.

NATO bases out of Greece: Statement by the KKE calls for nationwide anti-imperialist mobilization

In a statement issued earlier today, the Political Bureau of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) calls the working people and the youth "to rise against the policy of the SYRIZA-ANEL coalition government which transforms Greece into an endless US-NATO camp". 

"On 22 and 23rd of October we demonstrate in every city where military bases exist or new ones are going to be installed. In all over Greece, the Organisations of the KKE and KNE, through multiform activities, will express the opposition in these plans", writes the statement.

Brazil's communists call for broad electoral democratic front against Bolsonaro

A broad electoral democratic front against the fascist presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro is in the making in Brazil, after the results of the first round and two weeks before the second round on October 28th. 

In the first round, the far-right Bolsonaro received 46% of the votes while the candidate of the social democratic Workers' Party (PT) Fernando Haddad got 29.3%.

In a statement, the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB)- the leader of which, Manuela D'Ávila is Haddad's vice presidential candidate- calls for broad support towards Haddad on the basis of the unity of the left forces. More specifically, the statement of the Communist Party's National Political Commission writes:

KKE event in honor of the 74th anniversary of the liberation of Athens by EAM-ELAS

The Attica Party Organisation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) organizes on Saturday 13 October, at 6 pm, a political event in honor of the 74 years since the liberation of Athens by the ELAS resistance army

Greece: PAME denounces pro-government trade unionism, calls for nationwide strike on November 8th

In a statement the All-Workers Militant Front (PAME) denounces the pro-governmental, anti-workers stance of the majority of the Executive Committee of the General Confereration of Greek Workers (GSEE) which, during a meeting on October 8th, rejected the proposal for a General Strike on November 8th.
