Communist Party USA blasts Trump's anti-communist hysteria: “Our enemy is not God, it’s capitalism”

The Communist Party USA (CPUSA) condemned President Trump’s latest red‑baiting tirade against the social democratic "Democratic Socialists of America" (DSA) primary victories in New York and of the District of Columbia mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George, calling it a dangerous escalation of anti‑communist hysteria. 

 

“MAGA is going to lose the midterms and Trump’s getting desperate,” co-chair Rossana Cambron said.  

 

Communist Party USA: Message to all Solidnet parties concerning the so-called "American Communist Party"

In a message addressed "to all Solidnet parties" (i.e Communist and Workers' Parties which participate in the IMWCP), the International Department of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) warns about the foundation of the so-called "American Communist Party" by a "clique of pro-Trump individuals". 

The message of CPUSA stresses out:

Abortion rights: U.S Communist and Left forces react to Supreme Court's ruling

The recent ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) which overturned Roe v. Wade thus ending the decades-long constitutional right of women to abortion has created a wave of protests throughout the United States, as well as abroad.  

In a comment on social media, the Party of Communists (PCUSA) writes: “As rent and living costs increase for working women, the Supreme Court overturned the monumental Roe v. Wade decision that protected a woman's constitutional right to an abortion. Alongside this dishonorable decision, Judge Clarence Thomas advocated for the reconsideration of laws on contraceptives, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriages". 

Derek Chauvin verdict is a victory for justice won by people’s struggle, says the Communist Party USA

"The Communist Party USA celebrates this verdict, a victory for justice won by people’s struggle. Much remains to be done before the racist killings of African Americans by the police ceases", reads a statement of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) concerning the conviction of police officer Derek Chauvin who murdered George Floyd on May 25, 2020.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of all charges, including  second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. 

Gus Hall: A great figure of the U.S. communist movement

The 13th of October marked the 20th anniversary since the death of American communist and long-time leader of the Communist Party, USA (CPUSA) Gus Hall.

General Secretary of the CPUSA from 1959 to 2000, Hall was one of the most brilliant figures of the U.S. communist movement, alongside William Z. Foster, Paul Robeson, Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, W.E.B. Du Bois and others.

His birthname was Kustaa Halberg and was born in 1910 in Saint Louis County, Minesota. Son of Finnish immigrants, he grew up in a working class family and was involved early on in the labor movement. He left school at the age of 15 in order to support his poor ten-child family by working in mines, railroads and lumber camps.
