The event marked the culmination of the festivities of the 31st Anti-imperialist Camp of the Communist Youth of Greece (KNE) which takes place in the seaside village of Nies, Central Greece.
The rally had a special internationalist symbolism as long as it was attended by the General Secretaries of Communist Parties which maintain close fraternal relationships with the KKE: Ástor García, GS of the CC of the Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (PCTE), Pavel Blanco Cabrera, First Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Mexico (PCM) and Kemal Okuyan, GS of the CC of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP). The three leaders delivered greeting speeches underlining, among other things, the common struggle of their parties against imperialism and war.
A greeting speech was also delivered by the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas, while the keynote speaker of the event was the General Secretary of the CC of KNE, Nikos Abatielos. It must noted that the rally was attended by representatives of eight Communist Youths which participate in the 31st Anti-imperialist camp. In the end of the event, the participants sang the “Internationale” thus sending a powerful message of anti-imperialist struggle and proletarian internationalism.
