SYRIZA paved the way to New Democracy — Dimitris Koutsoumbas

KKE General Secretary Dimitris Koutsoumbas.
"The right-wing and conservative policy of SYRIZA's government paved the way to New Democracy and PASOK, it purified and resurrected them", said Dimitris Koutsoumbas, the General Secretary of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), in his interview to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, three days before the July 7th parliamentary elections.

Koutsoumbas points out "the leadership of SYRIZA has been recorded as a "sellout" to the unjust system, to Trump and the EU Commission" and adds that many people who did not submit themselves to the system draw conclusions and support the KKE.

The General Secretary underlined that in these elections "four memorandum-friendly parties (SYRIZA, New Democracy, PASOK/KINAL, MERA25) claim Parliament seats, two fascist formations (Golden Dawn, Greek Solution) and the KKE". This alone, said Koutsoumbas, can show to the working class who can be their foothold.

In the interview, Dimitris Koutsoumbas stressed out that "either with an one-party government or with a coalition government, the anti-people essense does not change" and that the KKE will "make life difficult for the government" as it did against all anti-people governments.

The Communist Party, underlined Koutsoumbas, "is the only party that has a proposal for government that is for the interest of the popular majority and not for the few of this country".

Regarding the developments in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, the General Secretary pointed out that "a solution for our people, for security and peace, co-operation and solidarity, utilization of the natural resources for the people's welfare means, before all, fight against the warmongering plans of the USA-NATO-EU and clash with the system that only brings suffering, poverty and wars for t he people".
