Delegation of the European Communist Initiative on a three-day visit to Palestine

A delegation of the INITIATIVE of Communist and Workers Parties is on a three-day solidarity visit to the Palestinian territories, in order to express its solidarity to the just struggle of the Palestinian people. 
The delegation is comprised by Sotiris Zarianopoulos, MEP of Communist Party of Greece (KKE), Lefteris Nikolaou, member of the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE, as well as representatives from the Communist Party, Italy (Partito Comunista) and the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE).
On Wednesday morning the Initiative's delegation met with representatives from Palestinian Legislative Council (Parliament) including the deputy General Secretary of the Council's International Relations Ahmed Magdadi, the General Secretary of the Palestinian People's Party and MP Bassam Al-Salhi and the Fatah MP Raduan al-Akras.

The Palestinian Legislative Council's representatives thanked the European Communist Initiative for the visit as well as for the activities of solidarity that its member-parties undertake throughout Europe. The Palestinian side underlined the significant contribution of the Communist and Workers Parties in the struggle of the Palestinian people.
From their side, the members of the Initiative's delegation pledged to continue the multiform solidarity towards the palestinian struggle and delivered an analytical report with the Initiative's positions regarding the Palestinian issue. At the same time, the delegation informed the Council deputies for the developments in the EU and the broader region, the continuation of the competitions in South Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. 
The delegation of the European Communist Initiative also met with Nabil Shaath, advisor of President Abbas on foreign policy issues.
