Solidarity with the Communist Party of Poland (KPP) - Condemn the anticommunist persecutions

Call for the condemnation of the anti-communist persecution in Poland.

Anti-communist persecution against the Communist Party of Poland continues. On 27th of November the court proceedings will restart. The judicial prosecution based on charges of propagating communist ideology in the „Brzask” newspaper and on the party's website continues for two years.

This trial is a part of a campaign made by the government to illegalize the Communist Party of Poland.

Against Black Friday: Amazon workers in Germany and Italy are going on strike

More than 500 Amazon employees in Europe will go on strike on Black Friday in a bid to win higher pay from the retailer, according to trade unions.

Large numbers of employees in Germany and Italy will stay home for one of the busiest shopping days of the year in a bid to win concessions from their employer.

Workers at Amazon's main Italian distribution hub posted a statement saying that they would walk out after attempts to secure bonuses from management broke down.

Athens: KKE will honour the 100 years of the October Revolution with a large political and cultural event

"They told us that the end of history came. But the people are those who write History. The October Socialist Revolution showed the way". With this slogan, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) organises a great political and cultural event in honor of the October Revolution's centennial, which will be held in Athens on Sunday 26th November.

The event will include a speech by the General Secretary of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas as well as a cultural event dedicated to the 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution. 

NATO soldiers attacked and injured civilians in Crete

An outrageous incident took place in the city of Chania, in the Greek island of Crete, on November 17th. 

NATO soldiers, who were participating in a multinational military exercise, attacked civilians in the city center of Chania thus injuring one of them seriously. The victim was transfered to the local hospital. 

The incident took place on  the evening of Friday, 17 of November, just after the end of the rally for the 44th anniversary since the Athens Polytechnic Uprising. 

The attack from the side of the NATO soldiers, which is not the first one that takes place in the area, was unprovoked.

London: Event organised by the KKE to take place at Karl Marx Memorial Library on November 25th

An event about the October Revolution's achievements in Education will be organised by the KKE Party Organisation of Education and the branches of the KKE and KNE in Britain, in London on Saturday 25th November. 

The event will take place at 6 pm, at Karl Marx Memorial Library (Clerkenwell Green, EC1R 0DU, London).

SoL news portal interviewed Astor Garcia, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the People of Spain (PCPE), who was in Izmir, Turkey for the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution event by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP). soL: Wellcome to Izmir. How were the activities on the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution in your country and what were its repercussions?

Astor Garcia: We organized a number of activities in several cities in Spain on commemorating the 100th anniversary of the October Revolution. It started with the activity in Madrid on October 7 which aroused great interest among Party members, the Communist Youth Collective (CJC) and our sympathizers. The other activities are taking place in the regional capitals.

KKE: Condemns the fascist attack on the Communist Party of Paraguay's headquarters in Asunción

In a message of solidarity towards the Communist Party of Paraguay (Partido Comunista Paraguayo), the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece states the following:

"The KKE decisively condemns the attack by a group of fascsist against the headquarters of the Communist Party of Paraguay in Asunción, the desecration of the offices' entrance with vulgar anticommunist slogals and the destruction of a mural dedicated to the October Revolution.

Dear comrades, let me greet all participants of the meeting!

27 years ago (in April 1990) I gave a speech at the conference of Leningrad CPSU organization that was to discuss the list of delegates to be sent to the XXVIII Congress of CPSU. Exactly then there took place the division between market oriented supporters of Gorbachev and orthodox communists. This division is still present in Russian Federation and manifests itself as the existence of two parties: CPRF and RCWP and the struggle between these two parties.

The USA, European Union and Ukraine denied to condemn Nazism at the UN General Assembly

Hiding behind the pretext of "freedom of speech", the United States- accompanied by Ukraine- voted against a resolution condemning the glorification of Nazism introduced to the Third Committee of the U.N. General Assembly by the Russian Federation. 

The resolution was approved by a recorded vote of 125 in favor to 2 against, with 51 abstentions. 

Among the abstentions are the countries of the European Union (including Greece), Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Turkey and Libya.

California: Communists to celebrate the 100 years of the October Revolution in Los Angeles

An event in honour of the 100 years since the Great October Socialist Revolution has been scheduled to take place on Saturday 18th November in Los Angeles, California. Below you can read the details about the event:

"Bread, Education, Liberty": 44 years later, the legacy of the Polytechnic Uprising lives on

Like every year, on November 17th, rallies have been scheduled for today in  Athens and other Greek cities in order to commemorate and honour the 43rd anniversary of the students and workers uprising in Athens, which is historically known as the Polytechnic Uprising. 

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) and the Communist Youth (KNE), as well as numerous labour organisations, students unions and women's associations, have issued statements calling for mass participation in the march for the Polytechnic.
