In the 15th Congress of the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) which took place between 22 and 25th of June in Caracas, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) was represented by its Political Bureau member Giorgos Marinos and Dimitris Karagiannis, member of the international relations section of the CC and journalist in 'Rizospastis'. 

On June 21st, the PCV organised the 2nd International Ideological Seminar with the subject being "The timeliness of Lenin in the 100 years of the Great Socialist Revolution", in which 18 Communist and Workers Parties participated.

Dear comrades,

The KKE expresses the warmest comradely greetings of the Greek communists to the 15th National Congress of the PCV .

Our parties all these years have developed very close, bilateral comradely relations of cooperation. We have met together in the efforts to overcome the difficulties, for the theoretical and ideological regroupment of the international communist movement, the reinforcement of Marxist-Leninist orientation in its ranks, for the creation and publication of the International Communist Review. We have waged battles together to defend the communist identity of the IMCWP and to preserve its communist characteristics. We have devoted significant forces to developing the anti-imperialist struggle and solidarity, to strengthening the international anti-imperialist organizations.

Open letter by the Communist Party of Venezuela: Defeat the Coup Against the Bolivarian Republic

To our compatriot Nicolas Maduro, President of the Republic; to the working class and working people of the city and countryside; to the patriotic officers, classes, and soldiers of the National Bolivarian Armed Forces; to the national leadership and militancy of the political parties and popular organisations of the Great Patriotic Pole, including the United Socialist Party.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela finds itself threatened yet again by acts of political violence from sectors of the extreme right as part of the execution of a destabilising plan elaborated by North American imperialism.

"Occupy Wall Street" movement shares reactionary propaganda against Venezuela

The reactionary, imperialist propaganda against Venezuela's government has found new promoters: The famous "Occupy Wall Street" movement seems to be one of them, as long as it uses Twitter in order to share reactionary views about what is happening in Venezuela. 

More specifically, on 12 May 2017, the so-called "resistance movement" shared on Twitter an article of the New York Times titled "Venezuela Tries Protesters in Military Court 'Like We Are in a War'". 

Since its establishment in 2011, the "Occupy" movement- a leaderless movement with hazy anticapitalist slogans- tried to absorb popular discontent (especially of the indignant youth) against the system without having a clear ideological basis.

On the occasion of the joint resolution adopted by the EU Parliament with the votes of the MEPs from the European People's Party, the Socialists & Democrats, Conservatives-Reformists and Liberals (ALDE) regarding the situation in Venezuela, the Europarliament Group of the KKE (Communist Party of Greece) issued the following statement: 

"The Europarliament Group of the KKE voted against the resolution which was filed at the EU Parliament by the EU People's Party, the Social Democrats, the Liberals and the Conservatives-Reformists about the situation in Venezuela. The resolution, which supports the opposition parties, calls, among others, the high representative of the Union for foreign affairs "to actively explore with international and regional organisations other measures that would enable the EU to restore full democracy to Venezuela". That is in fact another resolution of the Europarliament, like the previous ones regarding Syria, Libya, Ukraine etc, that consists a precursor and preparation for imperialist interventions of the EU, alongside the USA and other imperialist organisations, such as NATO.

KKE: Full solidarity with Venezuela's Communist Party, denounces electoral ban threats

In a statement, the Press Office of the CC of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) expresses its solidarity to the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) and denounces the threats by the National Electoral Council to exclude it from the elections:

"The KKE denounces in the most decisive way the threat of ban of the CP of Venezuela by the country's National Electoral Council, firmly standing by the side of the communists and will strengthen the efforts for the mass expression of the international solidarity. 

Venezuela's Communist Party (PCV) denounces efforts to exclude it from elections

The Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) is going to challenge new electoral authority rules in court this week which threaten to exclude it from elections. During the weekend the party denounced the new National Electoral Council (CNE) rules which require parties to submit full membership lists for publication on the authority’s website — or be deregistered and barred from elections. 

According to the Communist Party of Venezuela the recent decision is based on a 1965 law, when the then bourgeois governments (including Romulo Betancourt's one) had unleashed numerous persecutions against members of the Communist Party which was outlawed. The General Secretary of PCV Oscar Figuera stated that the Party will seek an injuction from the Supreme Justice Tribunal against the rule of the National Electoral Council.

The Communist Party of Venezuela holds two seats in the opposition-controlled, 167-member National Assembly, and forms part of the Great Patriotic Pole bloc led by President Nicolas Maduro’s United Socialist Party.

the KKE denounces the harmful for the Venezuelan people provocative plans of creating tension that reactionary opposition forces are promoting, through the dangerous call for “peaceful” seizure of Caracas on September 1^st. Rapid developments have taken place in Venezuela during the last months. From last December's electoral victory of the right-reactionary opposition until the recent assassination of a retired Army General, we have seen a series of events which lead to the destabilization of Nicolas Maduro government. Eighteen years since the rise of Hugo Chavez in power, in 1998, the “Bolivarian Revolution” trembles dangerously, while the conservative opposition is on the counter-attack and a number of external agents (US government, OAS etc.) are variously trying to intervene in the country's internal affairs.

The crisis in Venezuela has two sides: On the one hand, the government and its people are facing a multidimensional attack from imperialist centers which aim in exacerbating the situation to such extend so that a possible (external) military intervention would be justified. The attack on Venezuela must be examined as part of the broader framework of inter-imperialist, inter-bourgeoisie contradictions and antagonisms which- fostered by the US policy- are taking place in Latin America. That comes out also as a result of the developments in Brazil (the 7^th largest economy worldwide) where the inter-bourgeoisie confrontation and the scandal-mongering political orgy led to the expulsion of President Roussef.

In a message to the Communist Party of Venezuela, the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Greece points out the following:

Dear comrades,

We express our internationalist solidarity to the working class and the popular strata of your country who are facing with the consequences of the capitalist economic crisis as well as the increasing aggressiveness of Imperialism and the reactionary forces.

KKE denounces every attempt of intervention in the domestic issues of Venezuela, such as the one which is manifested within the framework of the OAS (Organisation of American States), as well as the military provocations by the US and their allies, the open targeting by the US, NATO and the EU, alliances in which our country participates and fulfilling a negative role for the people.

Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV): Against fascism, class-appeasement and corruption! The option is Socialism!

In a published statement the Communist Party of Venezuela (Partido Comunista de Venezuela) expresses its greetings to the workers of Venezuela and the world on the occassion of the International Workers Day. 

Among other things, PCV's statement points out: "As it happens historically, the working class and peoples of the world bear on their shoulders the burden of the crisis of the capitalist system in its imperialist phase, while the governments of the hegemonic powers, mainly the United States and the European Union, continue their offensive against the people and national liberation processes. Monopoly capital and the governments and institutions seek to serve out of the crisis of the system with more violence and greater social injustice. The class contradictions have been sharpened in all over the  world, including particularly in Latin America".

The PCV accusses US Imperialism- as well as their collaborators in Latin American countries- for trying to restore the power of the monopolies, by supporting the implementation of neoliberal policies. For these plans, reformist petty-bourgeois parties have been a useful tool.

The Communist, Revolutionary and Workers Parties of the world, express our strong support and firm solidarity to the VENEZUELAN PEOPLE, the Government of the Constitutional President Nicolas Maduro Moros, the Communist Party of Venezuela, and the Committee of International Solidarity (COSI), member of the Executive Committee of the World Peace Council (WPC), victims of an abominable and new interventionist escalation by the US imperialism which means the prelude to a declaration of war.

The "Executive Order" was renewed on March 3^rd, 2016 by the President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, which extends and expands the possible actions of the major State aggressor on sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, against the political and social process in Venezuela, in which a "national emergency" against an alleged "unusual and extraordinary threat to national security and foreign policy of the US" is declared.
