Joint Statement against anti-communist repression in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan

Joint statement regarding the repression of those who spoke out against the rehabilitation of the Basmachi in Uzbekistan and the use of Soviet symbols in Azerbaijan

In Uzbekistan, a court sentenced a local journalist with socialist views, Aziz Khakimov, to 4 years and 2 months in prison under the article “inciting hatred” for statements against the rehabilitation of figures from the Basmachi movement of 1918-1944, who fought against Soviet power with weapons in hand, trying to restore the power of the mullahs, the wealthy, and the feudal lords.

Anti-communist repression intensifies across the Turkic States: Freedom for Aziz Khakimov!

Statement by the Political Council of the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan on the intensification of anti-communist persecutions in the Turkic States:

In Uzbekistan, the well known blogger and left wing activist Aziz Khakimov was given a harsh sentence of 4 years and 2 months in prison for speaking out against the rehabilitation of the leaders of the Basmachi movement of 1918-1944. His only “crime” was that he called them murderers and executioners of the people!

Communist Parties: The attempt to ban the communist ideology in the republics of Central Asia shall not pass!

There is no prohibition of communist ideology in the republics of Central Asia!
 
The Communist and workers' parties condemn attempts to ban Soviet symbols and communist ideology in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the adoption of the law on the final rehabilitation of "victims of Stalinist repressions of 1918-1953" by the Kyrgyz Parliament, which opens the gates for the mass rehabilitation of criminals, bandit members, terrorists, Basmachi and Nazi collaborators.
