Communists from Iran, Israel and the United States condemn Trump-Netanyahu war in the Middle East

Communist Parties from Iran, Israel and the United States have issued strong statements condemning the recent military escalation in the Middle East following the joint U.S.–Israeli attack on Iran

The statements warn that the aggression risks triggering a wider regional conflict and call for international mobilization to stop the war and defend the rights of the peoples of the region. The reactions came after coordinated strikes carried out by the United States and Israel against targets inside Iran, an operation that dramatically heightened tensions across the Middle East and raised fears of a broader confrontation.

The Tudeh Party of Iran strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a criminal act of aggression carried out by the Israeli government with the backing of U.S. imperialism. The party stressed that the escalation occurred at a time when diplomatic negotiations concerning Iran’s nuclear program had reportedly made progress, making the decision to launch military strikes particularly dangerous.

According to the Tudeh Party, the intervention is not motivated by concern for democracy or human rights but by geopolitical and economic interests aimed at weakening Iran and imposing external domination. The party called on progressive forces, peace movements and workers’ organizations worldwide to unite in opposition to the aggression and defend Iran’s sovereignty and the right of its people to determine their own future.

Within Israel itself, the Communist Party of Israel and the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality (Hadash) also condemned the strikes and warned that the attack could trigger a devastating regional war.

In a joint statement, the Israeli communists described the operation as an act of aggression carried out in close coordination between the Israeli government and the United States. They warned that the escalation could lead to a comprehensive war across the Middle East with catastrophic consequences for millions of people.

The statement also criticized the broad consensus among Israel’s mainstream political forces supporting the attack and warned that the war atmosphere could be used domestically to intensify repression and divert attention from the ongoing violence and occupation in the Palestinian territories.

In the United States, the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) likewise condemned the military escalation, calling for an immediate halt to the bombing of Iran. The party argued that the war serves the interests of powerful elites and the military-industrial complex rather than those of ordinary people.

The CPUSA emphasized that American workers have nothing to gain from another war in the Middle East and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people, who face both internal repression and the devastating consequences of foreign military intervention. The party called for mass mobilization in the United States to stop the war and oppose imperialist policies in the region.

A similar stance was expressed by the Central Committee of the Communist Workers’ Platform of the United States (CWPUSA), a Marxist-Leninist organization founded in 2023 that seeks to rebuild a communist party in the country.

In its statement titled “No War on Iran,” the organization condemned the U.S.–Israeli military attack and warned that imperialist intervention threatens to drag the region into a broader and more destructive conflict. The statement stresses that wars between states ultimately serve the interests of competing capitalist and imperialist powers while ordinary people pay the price.

The Communist Workers’ Platform called for building an international anti-war movement capable of resisting imperialist intervention and defending the interests of workers and oppressed peoples across the region.
