Communist Party of Turkey: "NATO bases must be closed immediately and U.S soldiers must be expelled"

Statement by Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) on the Iran-fired missile allegedly heading toward Turkey and intercepted by NATO defense systems, and NATO’s provocative response:

"The United States and its partner Israel, through the attacks they have been carrying out against Iran for days, have now taken steps to draw our country into the war they initiated.

Now in its fifth day, the war has brought no progress for the United States and Israel despite their overwhelming technological superiority and air dominance. They are now seeking to compensate for this failure by expanding the conflict.

At a time when reports have surfaced in the press about plans to organize and arm a fifth column within Iran, news emerged today claiming that a missile allegedly fired from Iran toward Turkey was intercepted by NATO defense systems.

Following this news, despite the Ministry’s statement to the contrary, the entire media acting as if directed from a single center blatantly distorted the incident with headlines such as “Ballistic missile fired from Iran fell on Hatay.” Meanwhile, NATO, even before any concrete details about the event were known, issued a statement condemning what it described as “Iran’s attack on Turkey.” This is a serious trap.

We warn the AKP government.

We will not allow attempts to drag our country into this war alongside Israel and the United States through a major provocation.

Once again, we declare: The greatest threat to the security of our people and our country is the world’s largest terrorist organization NATO and the United States.

NATO bases must be closed immediately, and U.S. soldiers stationed in our country must be expelled without delay."
